Guess what? It's Trump's fault!

Hatred of journalists on the rise worldwide, watchdog says
Media watchdog Reporters Without Borders says hostility toward journalists is growing worldwide, often encouraged by political leaders — even in democratic countries.
The group says many democratically elected leaders "no longer see the media as part of democracy's essential underpinning," singling out U.S. President Donald Trump for his media-bashing. It also notes the recent killings of reporters in EU members Slovakia and Malta.

It would be one thing if the article suggested an equivalency between media-bashing and killing. That would be brash enough. But no, the problem with hostility towards journalist is best defined by "singling out" Trump.  The actual killings of reporters is obviously something much less important that is best addressed by "also noting"  that it happened.

Yeah that Reporters Without Borders thing must be "fake news" citing "THEIR facts" because they're "enemies of America" and probably "Hillary flunkies". Doesn't have anything to do with Trump.

MAGA! except for reporters, reporters are anti-American.

Nice troll hyperbole.

Usually takes a little longer...

So, according to Roger, if you don't kiss the news media's ass you're against the first amendment.

It's escapes his intellect, that you can be both for the first amendment and criticize the, at best bias, reporting in the media and, at worst, complicity in the attempted overthrow of a legitimately elected president.

Reporters have always been in danger when doing their jobs, but never in the United States, and certainly never from this president. (Unless, of course, you take twitter way too seriously.)

For that they have to go to the third world that leftist love so much.

Believe it or not, that was actually pretty difficult because the first paragraph, intending to be a parody, isn't self-evidently exaggerated enough. A person could read that and believe it sincere - people do write all of that and believe it. A parody has to be so "out there" that you instantly know it's a put on. Or if not instantly, at least by the end of the rant.

I couldn't actually make a media-hating rant more ridiculous, but it still looked too "normal" for the Trumpies, so I added the MAGA line rather than abandoning the parody idea. Yeah, kind of cheap but try writing a parody in three sentences, when the reality already looks like one.

I just wish liberals would make up their damn minds.

One day the US isn't influential in the rest of the world...

...the next breath, we're influential in the rest of the world.

New allegations of misconduct emerged Wednesday afternoon against Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson, the White House physician nominated to be the next secretary of Veterans Affairs.

Jackson has been accused of providing "a large supply" of prescription opioids to a White House military office staffer and "wreck[ing] a government vehicle" while intoxicated at a Secret Service event, according to a new report compiled by Democratic Senate staffers.

The White House is continuing to stand by Jackson, who said Wednesday that he would not withdraw from the nomination process.

Veterans don't matter to the President. Loyalty to him is the preeminent requirement for any position in the Trump administration.

Dr. Ronny Jackson, the White House physician nominated by President Trump to lead the Veterans Affairs Department, has pulled himself from consideration for the role

I don't know about all of that - I mean literally no solid knowledge of any of the pill-mill allegations nor the Dr. Ronny Jackson personal performance issues. I'd have a hard time believing it to be honest, at least *all* of it. But I HAVE wondered about Trump's choice of a person who had no qualifications for the position other than Trump liked him. And his press conference about Trump's health and mental status.

I can't even say that I'm glad that Jackson has withdrawn from consideration for the Veterans Affairs Department position, because I'm confident that Trump will just do it again, possibly with someone even more objectionable than what Jackson is made out to be.
