NY Times worried that labeling journalists will lead to violence?

New York Times publisher and Trump clash over president's threats against journalism
"I told the president directly that I thought that his language was not just divisive but increasingly dangerous,” said Sulzberger, who became publisher of The Times on Jan. 1. 92 “I told him that although the phrase ‘fake news’ is untrue and harmful, I am far more concerned about his labeling journalists ‘the enemy of the people,'” Sulzberger continued. “I warned that this inflammatory language is contributing to a rise in threats against journalists and will lead to violence.”
So the NY Times is concerned with some sort of possible future situations where journalist might come under violent attacks. Meanwhile, the NY Times refuses to condemn groups like the "Antifa" for their blatant real world attacks on Trump supporters and Conservatives in general.

If anyone is inciting violence, it's the liberal media who continuously attack the President, question his actions and motives, and invariably demand that his Presidency is some sort of menace that needs to end. This sort of media crusade certainly place a part in the real world violence that we have seen following Trump rallies where-ever they go.

Ironic, that the NY Times editor would suddenly worry about violence, just after Trump supporters won the right to sue cities and police departments for failing to prevent such real world tangible violence against them. Ironic, because said violence was probably spurred in part by the very media that Sulzberger is attempting to solicit victim status for.

Some act like clashes between the Oval Office and the press are new.

So sad those same people are so uneducated .

You discount anything that shows that Trump has an explosive temper. He is ruled by his emotions, not on any analytical basis. He refuses to read the daily intelligence briefings. He ignored the 100 page briefing before meeting Putin. His performance in Helsinki has been seen by even his most enthusiastic supporters as a disaster.

Yes, his comments could inspire mentally ill individuals to attack journalists who dare ask questions of the President. Yet again you find yourself defending the.

ironic indeed.

sulzberger is conducting the same kind of psychological projection the alky does around here every day.

really? well, the only deadly violence i've seen since trump's inauguration was directed at trump supporters by the like of pantifa, and at GOP congressmen like steve scalise.

so, once again alky, what you accuse my side of doing is what your side is ACTUALLY committing.

Trump promotes attacks on the media. Violence is fine by him. The guy likes torture. He’s not a good man.

Woodrow Wilson attempted to censor the free press during World War One.

Trump is attempting to make reporters shut the fuck up and quit embarrassing him with questions about his past sexual harassment and abuse allegations. Going into the dressing rooms is sickening. Being rich gives him the right to grab pussy anytime he wants to.

You attempted to impeach Bill Clinton over lying about a blow job. I doubt that it was the first time that a President didn't get a blow job in the Oval office.

It's not a matter of "defending Trump".

It's a simple matter that whatever political violence is out there today, is being aimed specifically at Trump supporters. No doubt much of this violence is caused by the negative "sky is falling" reporting done by the NY Times and their ilk.

I find it ironic that they now worry that the President's words could cause the same thing to happen to them?

This explains his support for Roy Moore.

BBC British Fake News

t ran a 30-minute report dedicated to this notable query on Monday, July 9 – three days before Trump’s visit to England. Titled “Trump: Is the president a sex pest?” it focused on Trump’s relations with women in the 1980s and 1990s. Now, for those of us stateside who would like an answer of our own, the documentary is scheduled to premiere in the US and Canada on Saturday, July 21, at 10:30am EST, with another airing on Sunday afternoon.

The half-hour show features two women and a man who say they witnessed Trump’s behavior at parties in the ’80s and ’90s. One woman, Barbara Pilling — who has never spoken publicly before about Trump — said she met the president at a New York party in the late 1980s, where he questioned her over her age. When she responded 17, the president allegedly responded, “Oh, great. So you’re not too old and not too young. That’s just great.”

“I felt like I was in the presence of a shark getting ready to roll his eyes back in his head and bite me,” Pillings told BBC. She also spoke of Trump’s predatory behavior toward other women at the party. According to Pillings, when a waitress offered Trump a drink, “He didn’t take the drink and slapped her on the bottom. She was a blonde. He gave her butt a slap and it was very loud. He was like, ‘Don’t worry, that’s not your tip.’”

Pillings also describes going to the restroom and discussing Trump with other models; one said the president was “trying to grab [her] ass” as she walked by.

The man, who asked to remain anonymous, claims he attended many of the same parties as the future president, where there was “a lot of cocaine around,” and wealthy men solicited sex from younger women. “It was kind of like a feeding frenzy. The girls were there as consumables.” (“There’s no evidence that Donald Trump had sex with underage girls,” the BBC notes, “but the program has been told he did pursue models in their teens.”)

Getting harassed in a restaurant is not the same thing as let's look at Charlottesville where the right wing nut job killed an innocent young woman.

But there are good people on both sides , right Scott?

I believe that guy is going to be strapped to a gurny.

No punsihment for the mayor or governor who enabled it though.

Commonsense said...

So in Roger's world Steve Scalisi almost being killed by a left-wing nut job doesn't count.
