Because there was little attention given to the fact that Floyd showed fentanyl in his system (11 ng/ml) at the time of death, there has been little consideration as to how being high (or perhaps too high) on that drug might have affected things. Reports are that people have died of fentanyl overdose with less than half that toxicity.
Given that respiratory failure would be the most likely manner in which a fentanyl overdose would kill someone, this video at least suggests the possibility that something other than the knee to the neck caused the breathing problems for Floyd.
Moreover, the fact that Floyd had been complaining about breathing issues "prior" to being held down, there would be less reason for the police officers to believe that the continued complaints were being caused by the means in which he was being restrained. Sort of a boy who cried wolf situation.
Not saying that the police in this situation will get off, but it considering that Ellison went all in with second degree murder charges, it puts a much higher burden on the prosecution to put all of the pieces of the puzzle together in a means that does not provide any reasonable doubt.
That might be an uphill climb.

Epstein was found dead in his cell last August in an apparent suicide amid suspicious circumstances that have caused many to question if he’d actually killed himself, or if he was murdered. Trump seemed to imply that his well-wishes for Maxwell are due to the suspicion surrounding Epstein’s death, and the fact that she now finds herself in a similar situation.
“Her friend, or boyfriend, was either killed or committed suicide in jail. She’s now in jail,” Trump said. “Yeah, I wish her well. I’d wish you well. I’d wish a lot of people well. Good luck. Let them prove somebody was guilty.” “Oh, so you’re saying you hope she doesn’t die in jail?” Swan asked. “Is that what you mean by ‘wish her well?’” “Her boyfriend died in jail, and people are still trying to figure out, how did it happen? The truth is that it doesn't make Floyd look good or make him look like a man attempting to cooperate in any way what-so-ever. Whether or not the cops look "good" or "bad" is irrelevant in court other than as it pertains to the law. In this portion of the video, they did nothing other than attempt to get a large uncooperative man in the back of the car.
Floyd originally refused to show his hands. Then he refused to put his hands on the wheel. Then he refused to put them on his head. Then he refused to get out... claiming that he was going to get shot if he got out. He struggled as they cuffed him. He didn't want to be taken to the police car and spent several minutes fighting getting into the back of the car.
Floyd was obviously intoxicated. Out of his mind intoxicated and demanded that he would die if he had to get into the back of the car. He starts screaming and demanding that he cannot breath as they tried to get him into the back of the car.
The officers kept trying to reassure him. Saying they would keep the windows open and one of them would stay back with him for his comfort. They were treating him like the toddler he was acting like.
Derek Chauvin was not even there yet... and Floyd was screaming and flailing and demanding that he could not breath.
If I saw this video and found out later than the guy died of respiratory problems (stopped breathing) - I would have assumed drug overdose based on everything.

Since this is the body cam video of the first two cops who apprehended Floyd. Derek Chauvin wasn't in this video because he hadn't arrived at the scene. Nobody was knelling on anyone during this video.
So obviously you did not watch this newly released video.

Perhaps you could take the 8 minutes or so that this video runs before demanding you know what it shows. Perhaps you can make a judgement based on the facts (and not based on political rhetoric).
Keep in mind that Floyd had 11 ng/ml of fentanyl in his blood stream. People have died of fentanyl overdoses at around half that amount. Based on this video, Floyd's obvious intoxicated and almost psychotic behavior, and the fact that he appears to be having a panic attack prior to Chauvin even showing up... it starts to provide fentanyl overdose as a possible alternate cause of death.
Bottom line: I am not sure Floyd would be alive today had Chauvin not put his knee on him. The officers had already called for an ambulance by the time Chauvin got there and he may have simply died on the street with or without a knee on his neck.

Calling a knee on someone's neck a "strangulation" hold is a means to make a round peg fit into a square hole. It's a preconceived knee jerk notion that Floyd was murdered.
It's also the main reason that the 11 ng/ml of fentanyl in the system is widely ignored by the liberal media. Because that is more than enough (along with the trauma of being arrested) to have the guy fall into a panic attack, become short of breath, pass out, and eventually die.
In layman's terms... when someone well beyond the normal limits of a dangerous drug goes through those steps panic, trouble breathing, passing out, and then dying... they call it an overdose.
Everyone knows... deep down... that simply putting someone's knee on someone else's neck is not strangulation, nor is it a choke hold. I mean, seriously... nobody believes that killed him (on it's own).
I am quite certain one of the demonstrations in court will be to show someone being held in that position well past 9 minutes... and not seeing the person being held passing out or dying. I doubt that the person being held will even have issues breathing.
Floyd was having issues breathing long before Chauvin got there (or at least was complaining about it). He was acting extremely intoxicated. Literally crying like a child about how he was a going to be shot (when he was not in danger of being shot) and how he first couldn't get out of his car and then how he couldn't get into the police car and how he was literally dying and couldn't breath (even though nobody at that time was restraining him in any way other than he was in cuffs).
I think Ellison has his work cut out for him. He is looking at this point for some form of jury nullification, where any probable doubt is chosen to be ignored by a jury looking to make an example and not cause any more waves.

At a briefing of the coronavirus task force in early March, Trump also invoked his predecessor.
“The Obama administration made a decision on testing that turned out to be very detrimental to what we’re doing,” Trump said. “And we undid that decision a few days ago so that the testing can take place in a much more accurate and rapid fashion.”
According to the Annenberg Public Policy Center’s FactCheck.org, no such rule or regulation was ever implemented under the previous administration.
“The Obama administration did attempt to impose a risk-based system of regulation on laboratory developed tests, or LDTs, and introduced draft guidance in 2014,” FactCheck.org said. “But that guidance was never finalized, and was withdrawn after Trump won the election in 2016.
“There is no formal document that Trump needed to rescind to allow labs to create their own coronavirus tests,” it added.
In late March, Trump claimed that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention “inherited a broken test.”
“When CDC first looked at their test, the biggest problem they had is, the test didn’t work,” he said. “That wasn’t from us. That’s been there a long time. Now we have the best tests in the world.”
Politifact’s “Truth-o-Meter” gave the claim a “Pants on Fire” rating.
When the U.S. government began sending test kits out on Feb. 5, the fact-checking site noted, “there was no inherited test because a test couldn’t be created until the new virus had emerged.”

His presidency has been of a piece. By The Post’s count, more than 20,000 falsehoods in 3½ years, on subjects ranging from his inaugural crowd size to the coronavirus, from conversations with foreign leaders to forecasts of a hurricane track. So finally, Trump’s credibility, such as it ever was, is shot — and his poll numbers with it. He stands on the verge of electoral oblivion. He tried once before, of course, to cheat in this election, by using presidential powers to try to extort Ukraine into propagating lies about his opponent — and was caught, although not punished.
Now he peddles a different lie: that somehow extensive “Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good)” would produce “the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history.” Hence the supposed need to “Delay the Election.”
All untrue, of course. Voting by mail has a long, venerable tradition in this country, most notably the election of 1864, when 150,000 Union soldiers sent in ballots that helped ensure President Abraham Lincoln’s reelection, the preservation of the union and the abolition of slavery. Mailed votes leave a paper trail that renders them less, not more, susceptible to fraud. The fraud is Trump’s: He’s lying so he can buy more time — or so he can delegitimize the vote and blame someone other than himself for his defeat.
But Trump is apparently too inept, ignorant, desperate or deluded — probably all four — to realize or care: His suggestion is absurd. The electoral calendar is set in stone, by law. Title 3 of the U.S. Code makes clear that the election must be held on Nov. 3, that members of the electoral college must meet and vote on Dec. 14, and that their votes must be counted before a joint session of the new Congress on Jan. 6 at 1 p.m. sharp. And the 20th Amendment provides that, no matter what, Trump’s current term ends at precisely noon on Jan. 20, and that if no president has been elected, another provision of Title 3 would confer the presidency’s powers on … the speaker of the House.
Even the worst of Trump’s enablers in Congress dismissed out of hand the idea of delaying the election. But Trump’s suggestion was more than just imbecilic. Steven G. Calabresi, a law professor who was a founder of the Federalist Society, a conservative lawyers’ group of which I’ve long been a member (and a member of its visiting board), nailed it: Trump’s suggestion was “fascistic.” It was the ploy of a would-be dictator, albeit an inept one.
Calabresi added that Trump should be impeached and removed for his tweet, and if Trump ever acted on it, and were there time, I’d agree. Trump should have been removed already twice over, for obstructing the Russia investigation and extorting Ukraine. His effort to sabotage a democratic system he swore to protect only confirms his unfitness for the job. But it’s too late for impeachment now.
Trump’s sanction must come at the polls, and beyond. For the sake of our constitutional republic, he must lose, and lose badly. Yet that should be just a start: We should only honor former presidents who uphold and sustain our nation’s enduring democratic values. There should be no schools, bridges or statues devoted to Trump.
