Indiana Gov. Mike Pence is meeting with Donald Trump this weekend amid speculation that he is being vetted as a possible running mate.
Pence spokesman Marc Lotter confirmed the plans Friday morning but said he couldn't comment on the topic of the meeting.
"Gov. Pence has accepted an invitation to spend a little time with Mr. Trump this weekend," Lotter said. "That's consistent with meetings Mr. Trump is holding with many key party leaders."
I honestly don't know enough about Mike Pence to know if he would be a good choice or not. A sitting Governor would be better than a sitting Senator (in my mind) and he does have twelve years of congressional experience. So he might appeal to me more than either Sessions or Corker. But it just seems that Gingrich or Christie is the better fit here.

Goody, let's have Gov. Pence as Trump's running mate!
Yhen we can remember how as a congressman he opposed anti-discrimination laws to protect gays, standing in opposition evem to same-sex civil UNIONS (not to mention marriages!) and EVEN opposed gays serving in the military. (Oh THAT'S going to go over well! (sarcasm)
As governor he signed a bill, SB 101, that permitted businesses to discriminate against gay and lesbian people. To his surprise, a lot of businesses didn't want this right and the backlash was so fierce* that Pence weakened the bill.
So let's have him as Trump's running mate and see how young people, independents, women and Democrats feel about that.
*The backlash:
*Apple's CEO Tim Cook condemned the law. *Salesforce.com's CEO, Marc Benioff, went even further and canceled the company's plan to expand in the state.
*Angie's list said it would kill a $40 million expansion in Indiana that would have brought in 1,000 jobs.
*The mayors of San Francisco and Seattle banned official travel to the state.

So what does Pence have in his favor?
Imho the fact that
*Christie -- nobody in NJ can stand
*Gringrich is a philanderer who's been married three times (like philanderer, 3x married Trump)
*Corker is too decent and not tea party enough
*Sessions -- nobody outside of Alabama has heard of him
*Palin -- even The Donald is not stupid enough to go there
