Registration numbers - Good news for Trump and GOP

The Republican National Committee provided new voter registration numbers:
  • Florida Net:  +261,715
  • Iowa Net:  +38,913
  • Nevada Net:  +12,720
  • North Carolina Net:  +173,785
  • Pennsylvania Net:  +223,552

Absentee ballot requests are going up for the GOP
  • Florida: 335,000 more requests for absentee ballots among Republicans
  • Iowa: The Iowa Trump Train is going day by day with their number collecting. On Wednesday, Republicans put in 5,000 more requests for absentee ballots than Democrats, who are seeing a 51 percent drop in their ballot requesting numbers.
  • Michigan: Republicans are beating Democrats in absentee ballot requests by 59,000. Republicans are leading the daily race by 1,642 ballot requests per day over the last two weeks.
  • North Carolina: Republicans are beating Democrats by 1,902 ballot requests in the last three days, pointing to hopeful signs in the immediate future.
  • Pennsylvania: Republicans are losing to Democrats in absentee ballot requests by less than 1,000, but Republicans have “posted gains 11 of the past 14 days” according to the RNC.

Sometimes it's not always about how much "money" you are spending or how many people you have on the ground knocking doors. Sometimes it's simply about results.

The assumption is because Clinton has a much more robust organization than Trump, that she should be winning the battles in these states. The fact that she is not, probably reflects the job that has been done over the past two Presidential elections by the Obama team. The reality is that there is a law of diminishing returns with any type of effort such as this. Eventually you just run out of "new voters" who are willing to sign up.

On the flip side, say whatever you want about Trump, but the fact is that he is drawing in "new voters" who are excited by his outsider candidacy. Perhaps he could be doing even better with registration and absentee ballots if he had more people on the ground. But perhaps not.

_______

The assumption of larger voter turnout (especially in swing states) for the Democrats is what fuels much of the speculation of a Hillary win. In many polling models, they show Clinton actually improving on the demographics that Obama enjoyed in 2008 and 2012.

I doubt very seriously that this will be the case.

A new Quinnipiac poll finds Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump nationally by five points, 45% to 40%, with Gary Johnson at 6% and Jill Stein at 3%.

As usual Trump's percentage is around 40%.

You're trying to figure out any way to get a victory.....

Just providing information Roger...

Sorry if that offends you.

What is funny about that CH, is that you don't have to request a ballot to get on in Floriduh......My 94 year old mother has never requested one and receives one every election. Not supposed to happen that way, but there GOP has a very goo mailing list. Another example of the GOP trying to win any way they can.

BTW, my old lady would vote for a fence post with an R on it. Kinda like you. LOL

Meanwhile... FBI agents are revolting and former agents are openly claiming that the Clinton investigation ruined the reputation of the agency and are calling for the resignation of Director Comey.

Which of course... is unimportant in comparison to something Donald Trump may have said well over a decade ago.

Clinton - Responsible for American deaths
Trump - said mean things

Clinton - Allowed top secret information to be hacked
Trump - said mean things

Clinton - Ruined the reputation of the DOJ and FBI
Trump - said mean things

Clinton - sold privilege to the State Department for cold hard cash
Trump - said mean things

Amazing how shallow some people are...

Funny, when I "just provided information" -- the latest polling information from Real Clear Politics, Ch deleted it.

You see, Ch has Clinton at a spread of 2.89 only.
RCP has her spread at considerably better than that. Both in a two way and in a four way race.

Well James...

Can you show me a poll on my side bar that shouldn't be there?

Sounds like the GOP is making it easier for you mother to exercise her right to vote.

Surely you don't want to disenfranchise your own mother?

LA times and their magical way of measuring undecided voters and peoples pundit. plus all the polls before 10-2.....those are rather stale at this point.

No dumbass....the voter is required to request a ballot. look it up.

Saying Bill Clinton isn't going to work.

You should say: "You're Fired" and put Pence and Kasich on the ballot!

You might still lose, but you would be responsible.

Keeping Trump is going to lose the house and Senate.

Donald Trump: You know and I moved on her actually. You know she was down on Palm Beach.

Unknown: She used to be great. She’s still very beautiful.

Trump: I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it. I did try and f*** her. She was married.

Unknown: That’s huge news.

Trump. No, no, Nancy. This was— And I moved on her very heavily in fact. I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture. I took her out furniture. I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there, and she was married.

Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big, phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.

[The men spot Arianne Zucker waiting for them outside the bus]

Bush: Sheesh, your girl’s hot as shit. In the purple.

Trump: Whoa! Yes! Whoa!

Unknown: Yes! The Donald has scored. Whoa, my man!

Trump: Look at you. You are a pussy.

[crosstalk as the bus doors open and close - Trump is still on the bus]

Trump: Maybe it’s a different one.

Bush: It better not be the publicist. No, it’s her. It’s —

Trump: Yeah, that’s her. With the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful - I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait.

And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything.

Bush: Whatever you want.

Trump: Grab them by the p****. You can do anything.

Bush: Yeah those legs, all I can see is the legs.

Trump: Oh, it looks good.

Bush: Come on, shorty.

Trump: Oh, nice legs, huh?

Bush: Oof, get out of the way, honey. Oh, that’s goo legs. Go ahead.

Trump: It’s always good if you don’t fall out of the bus. Like Ford, Gerald Ford, remember?

[Trump knocks on the bus door to get out]

Speaker Paul Ryan issued a statement Friday night condemning Donald Trump's 2005 comments about groping women. Ryan said he was "sickened" by the video, published by The Washington Post on Friday evening, and said the GOP nominee would no longer join him for an event Saturday morning:

he loses a billion, and that's our problem.

HOW MR. RYAN RESPONDED
“I am sickened by what I heard today. Women are to be championed and revered, not objectified. I hope Mr. Trump treats this situation with the seriousness it deserves and works to demonstrate to the country that he has greater respect for women than this clip suggests.”

HOW MR. McCONNELL RESPONDED
“As the father of three daughters, I strongly believe that Trump needs to apologize directly to women and girls everywhere, and take full responsibility for the utter lack of respect for women shown in his comments on that tape.”

Pence Bails On Event with Ryan

Gov. Mike Pence “will no longer be attending a Saturday campaign event in Wisconsin with House Speaker Paul Ryan,” Politico reports.

“Donald Trump was slated to attend the event but was dropped Friday evening after a leaked tape revealed the GOP nominee making crude comments about sexually harassing women… A top Pence advisor says Pence was not disinvited but decided not to go of his own accord.”

Pence told CNN in a statement that he cannot defend Trump’s remarks.

A source close to Trump campaign tells the Washington Post that Pence and his team are “absolutely apoplectic,” “melting down” and “inconsolable.”

More GOP Lawmakers Pull Support from Trump

Rep. Joe Heck (R-NV) and Rep. Cresent Hardy (R-NV) “say they’re rescinding their endorsements of Donald Trump, a day after lewd comments from their party’s presidential nominee came to light,” the AP reports.

Sen. John Thune (R-SD) said Trump should withdraw from the race.

There’s a growing tally of Republicans denouncing or unendorsing Trump.
