Well who would have thunk it?

Most Support Temporary Ban on Newcomers from Terrorist Havens
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 57 percent of Likely U.S. Voters favor a temporary ban on refugees from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen until the federal government approves its ability to screen out potential terrorists form coming here. Thirty-three percent are opposed, while 10 percent are undecided.
Similarly, 56 percent favor a temporary block on visas prohibiting residents of Syria, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen from entering the United States until the government approves its ability to screen for likely terrorists. Thirty-two percent oppose this temporary ban, and 11 percent are undecided.
So by what is "almost" a two to one margin, Americans favor exactly the executive order that Donald Trump just handed down... Of course you certainly wouldn't have suspected this based on the news coverage over the past couple of days.

Maybe some day the media will realize that the temper tantrum grade school actions of the sore loser liberal elitists does not actually represent the overall views of the American public. Then again, I wouldn't hold my breath while waiting...

Here is a question I heard made by a Brit as he discussed the Brexit.

Which America do you want to live in , a Merkle America or a President Trump America?

IF only, those that where pre- programed to storm our Air Ports would have gotten out and voted for Hillary and I still believe that bleeding tampon woman march was held because it was pre-staged to be a victory lap dance for HILLARY, but, because she lost it was an anti Male rally.

That idiot stuart rothenberg is already writing about the midterms almost 500 days away. Naturally he's predicting gop trouble in tge house.

Btw, he also predicted that Trump's path to the Whitehouse was non-existent.

These media jackasses just wont learn. They're part of the reason trump is president.

While our esteemed host once again pulls a kerry flip flop and now embraces polls that 2 days ago could not be trusted. We'll see what the next group says after the reality sinks in to the electorate. My guess, support will diminish. JMO.

Numerous diplomats have drafted a memo of dissent denouncing President Donald Trump's executive order banning the resettlement of refugees and barring travel from seven Muslim-majority countries.

The current draft of the memo, which was obtained by the Lawfare blog, describes Trump's actions as "counterproductive" to its stated goal of protecting Americans from potential terrorist attacks. According to the memo, the order will instead exacerbate relations with the targeted countries.

The State Department confirmed the existence of the memo to Mother Jones on Monday.

"We are aware of a dissent channel message regarding the Executive Order titled 'Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States,'" State Department spokesman Mark Toner said when reached for comment. "The Dissent Channel is a long-standing official vehicle for State Department employees to convey alternative views and perspectives on policy issues. This is an important process that the acting secretary, and the department as a whole, value and respect. It allows State employees to express divergent policy views candidly and privately to senior leadership."

The "dissent channel" was established in the 1970s for career diplomats to confidentially express opposition to the administration's foreign policy.

"We are better than this ban," the draft memo adds. "Looking beyond its effectiveness, this ban stands in opposition to the core American and constitutional values that we as federal employees took an oath to uphold."

Another poll with a slightly different tangent.

In a poll conducted about three weeks before Trump signed the executive order, 48 percent of participants said they supported "suspending immigration from 'terror prone' regions, even if it means turning away refugees from those regions."

There was a little more support for tracking Muslim people in the U.S. In that same poll, 53 percent of respondents said they were in favor of requiring individuals from Muslim-majority nations to register with U.S. officials.

The poll's assistant director said, "The Trump 'send them back to where they came from' rallying cry may have stirred the crowds and tipped the vote his way, but Americans are not inclined to simply show immigrants the door."

Still, as a writer for FiveThirtyEight points out, the exact wording of poll questions can affect the resulting number of people who support or oppose immigration changes.

We still don't know how the travel ban will play out in the next couple months, but opponents of it were vocal over the weekend. Protests popped up at major airports across the country.

"For the time being, it's probably safe to say that the policy is neither as unpopular as its detractors might hope for, nor as popular as its supporters might assume. But that could change as the public learns more about it in the days and weeks ahead," Harry Enten wrote in an article for FiveThirtyEight.

KD, President Trump has worked more days then Obama said...

On Sean Hannity he just played a 2 minute clip of Obama's top Intelligence agency people, saying that what President Trump did is what they wanted Obama to do.

It was all taken from Senate and US House Committee testimony.

Good to see the current President has the balls (Hillary has balls too) to do this.

I see ACLU Barbie has come to fowl this thread too. Given how kind CHT has treated him, you would think he could show a little class and respect the Host.

WASHINGTON ― In a stunning announcement Monday afternoon, acting Attorney General Sally Yates said the Justice Department won’t defend President Donald Trump’s executive order blocking all refugees and certain foreign nationals.

“I am responsible for ensuring that the positions we take in court remain consistent with this institution’s solemn obligation to always seek justice and stand for what is right,” Yates, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, wrote to Justice Department lawyers, the New York Times first reported.. “At present, I am not convinced that the defense of the executive order is consistent with these responsibilities nor am I convinced that the executive order is lawful.”

The announcement from Yates delivers a symbolic blow to the executive order Trump signed on Friday suspending all refugee resettlement for 120 days, halting Syrian refugee resettlement entirely and temporarily barring entry of nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.

Trump’s order faces multiple lawsuits, and several courts had already issued orders that led to the release of some individuals detained due to the executive order. But the refusal of the Justice Department to defend the immigration order leaves it in legal limbo.

Also in limbo is Yates’ immediate fate at the department. Trump has the power to fire her and very well could, though that would send a potentially damaging signal for how he views the department’s prosecutorial independence.
