175-0

Justice Gorsush has written 175 majority decisions, and not one of those 175 were overturned by a higher court.

One can make a lot of different arguments about what sort of Justice you want sitting on the Supreme Court. But almost nobody is going to argue that you don't want someone who proves over and over again that his understanding of the law is such that it has stood above any legal questioning or legal review.

You want a justice who get's it right above all else. At 175-0 it would certainly appear that Gorsuch understands the importance of getting it right.

And I'll give you a little hint.....175 to zero does not mean a thing to the next case, does iT??? Game, set, match. And souter was a what when confirmed????????

I'll still go with those who are actually right!

So all the science is wrong, CH??? Wow, now an expert in absolutely everything. LOL

Since his next case will likely be as part of a majority opinion on the U.S.S. C. and there will be no possibility of appeal, I guess his perfect record will stay intact, huh?

So all the science is wrong

Nope. Just the warming models!

Justice Dept. warned that Flynn could be vulnerable to Russian blackmail

The acting attorney general informed the Trump administration late last month of her concerns, current and former U.S. officials said. They also said that although they believed Pence was misled, they couldn’t rule out that Flynn was acting with the knowledge of others in the transition.

Isn't it interesting Yates was fired at this same time. No such thing as a coincidence in DC....

The thing about science is very little of it is "settled", in fact the point about continuing to ask the question.

"Is what we think we know now correct?"

That question has led to many changes in science. Remember fiber optic tech, it was said that data could only travel on a few light waive lengths, however, after years of asking the above question, we found that data could be transmitted on my of them.

Opium is not a serious person, he is a "flamer" that is her entertainment value.

He complains, that is all.

Yes, the track record of a Judge does matter in future cases.

Let me put it to you this way Odopium.

When you go to hire a doctor, lawyer or CPA, do you discard their record by the MMA, The Legal Bar in GA and the History of complaints on the website of the Georgia State Board of Accounting?

The latter two were not based on science, nor even decent probability models.

It may be that all of the models are flawed, but those are models based on climate science - they are not the body of science itself, which is ultimately solid.

Here's what I think about all of that CH. I think that you know full well that we have global warming due to anthropomorphic causes but since you don't know how much, nor what the long term effects might be, you are choosing the short term economics over the costly long term efforts that will be necessary to stop it. Be honest, how close am I to the truth here?

What I find most interesting is that Roger "says" he agrees with you on this, then goes forward with his belief that I actually have an entirely opposite take than what you suggested. I swear he simply doesn't have the attention span to actually read anything fully through.

But to answer your question, I have always stated unequivocally that the scientific theories regarding the greenhouse effect are solid as a general rule. There is no question that greenhouse gases have the ability to raise temperatures, at least in theory.

What I have always taken issue in are the various models, the manner in which the data is collected, and the fact that both have been without question less than accurate, transparent, and quite honestly less than objective.

Let's just say I have more issues with the statistical and mathematical formulas being used to produce these "models" than I do with whether or not greenhouse gases are capable of raising temperatures.

So at the end of the day, how prudent is it to move forward with costly and possibly damaging policies that are designed to reduce a problem that we cannot accurately quantify, and most certainly do not have any history of being able to accurately predict.

As it stands, even the most aggressive warming models are starting to fall dangerously close to not warming "enough" to cause the sort of concern that some would like to demand. We are both smart enough to know that our planet (and whatever life forms inhabit it) will be able to evolve and adapt to long term rising or lowering temperatures if those changes are gradual enough.

And totally ineffective.

Economically speaking, the bottom line is brutally simple and entirely clear. CO2 mitigation policies inexpensive enough to be affordable are likely to prove ineffective, while policies costly enough to be effective will be unaffordable.

I'm going to make a prediction.

CH will fine a way to justify the fact that the President knew weeks ago about the meetings between Flynn and the Russian ambassador before the Coronation of King Trump. It will be justified in a 1.000 word rant. Flynn also had contact with the Russians during the campaign. We don't know what was discussed. It's not important, right?

Trump let his Vice President to tell an untruth in regards to Flynn. That's worth at least 500 words.

He will also agree with the Republicans in the congress, to deny an independent investigation.

If I was Mike Pence, I would be very angry with the boss for letting him lie. or the other possibility is that they did know it was a lie, and hoped that it would blow over. Instead it is a hydrogen bomb scandal.

The national security will have an investigation into TlynnGate. But that's l;ke having the Republicans building a story to avoid telling the American people the truth.

I do't think this will be a "Kerry In A Landslide".

What California’s Dam Crisis Says About the Changing Climate
New York Times, By NOAH S. DIFFENBAUGHFEB. 14, 2017
(...) The recent drought has highlighted the pressure that a changing climate puts on a snowpack-dependent water system. With the shift toward more rain rather than snow, and the earlier melting of the snowpack, water managers need to release water more frequently for flood control. This dynamic is playing out in Oroville now, with the state’s water managers racing to empty water from the dam’s reservoir in advance of storms forecast to arrive Wednesday. Because these storms are relatively warm, they are likely to bring rain to the surrounding mountains, speeding the flow of water behind the dam. (...)

CA Dam regular Inspection and Mantenance IF it would have been done cost $135,000 a year, the first blush economic cost of this repair is put at $200,000,000.00. Mismanagement is a building block of Socialism.

The displacement of 200,000 people and the economic hardship of that cost, well, just beginning to ring that one up, it is ongoing.

FlyynGate© is getting more interesting.

The President is opening an investigation into the leaks to the media. It will be like a lynching. This is designed to take away the attention from the leaks. They are not false, they are facts. Multiple sources say that the Trump White House is a dysfunctional, Remember folks, something like this in the Nixon administration should have a special prosecutor appointed by the attorney general.

More and more people, Republican and Democrats are calling for a special investigation on the leaks and perhaps the President's pre election communication with the Russians, perhaps not in person but by Flyyn.

But most of the congressional Republicans don't want a special prosecutor. Rand Paul said it's more important to repeal ObamaCare, I think he opposes a special investigator might find out things that would perhaps fatally injure his Presidency.

The President says he did not direct Flynn to contact the Russians. I find it hard to believe, because Trump is used to be in charge. Since he claims that he was made aware of the contacts a few weeks He is an "in charge" personality.

He continues to resist releasing his tax records, and this is a similar situation. It could be a major problem.

It would have cost $135,000 to inspect, maintain and make repairs, now the cost to the tax payers of CA is over $200 Million dollars.

CA, here is a hint, it is going to rain again.

That cost is not inclusive of the cost to the 200 k displaced people.

BTW Arnold was governor when problems were Identified and since the dam was not leaking or the spillway damaged, no one did a fucking thing since money was not available to fix something that wasn't broke. Here's a hint, goat breath, your speculation is as flawed as your ability to post a cogent thought.
