Losing political control makes one susceptible to suggestion...

Even as Democrats decry the false claims streaming regularly from the White House, they appear to have become more vulnerable to unsupported claims and conspiracy theories that flatter their own political prejudices. The reason isn’t just that a Republican now occupies the White House. Political psychology research suggests that losing political control can make people more vulnerable to misinformation and conspiracy theories.

Research suggests that people embrace conspiracy beliefs as a way to cope with perceived threats to control. In particular, Joseph E. Uscinski and Joseph M. Parent at the University of Miami have argued that conspiracy theory beliefs increase in response to group threats, including among losers of elections. These beliefs can help rally groups and coordinate action in response to a decline in status or power.

So "this" is what makes people believe it's a good idea to put on pink "pussy hats" and listen to Ashley "Nasty woman" Judd and Ma "I want to blow up the White House" donna give silly speeches about the Nazis, rapists, bigots, molesters, and Cheetos dust. I suppose this also makes one susceptible to believing that every little event is the next "Watergate". I suppose this is also the reason people dream up elaborate plans for how you could go about convincing Republicans (87% of which approve of Trump as President) to impeach one of their own in the name of prudence.

Yep Ch, only the left is crazy.....from an old article from the weekly standard......implicating your side has its fair share of idiots...

The degree of this normalization is stunning. The Republican nominee for president made comments Friday that one might expect from a patient in a mental institution, the kind of stuff you might read on blog with really small print and pictures of UFOs. And yet his remarks barely register as news. There are no condemnations from fellow Republicans. His supporters shrug them off as Trump being Trump.

To the extent Trump's latest outburst has generated any attention, it's been a discussion of the tactical mistake he's made. There's been head-shaking that he's gone "off-message," expressions of wonder at his lack of discipline, speculation about the electoral impact of his latest comments, disbelief about the timing of his comments and bewilderment at their target.

All of this misses the point. It's not about tactics or messaging. It's about something simpler and something much more important: Donald Trump is not of sound mind.

His amplification of the Cruz-Oswald conspiracies is part of a long pattern of embracing crazy. He hinted that Antonin Scalia was murdered. He's suggested autism is linked to vaccinations. He claimed "thousands" of Muslims celebrated in the streets of New Jersey after 9/11. He said many people consider Vince Foster's death a "murder" and called it "very fishy." And before he ran for president, his deepest foray into politics was a campaign to prove that Barack Obama wasn't born in the United States. (It failed.)

Trump has praised Alex Jones, whose radio program is to conspiracy theories what ESPN is to sports. Jones, a prominent 9/11 truther, claimed there was a "98 percent chance" that the 9/11 attacks were controlled bombings perpetrated by the U.S. government. In an appearance on Jones's radio show last year, Trump offered the host deferential praise. "Your reputation is amazing," Trump said. "I will not let you down."

Just like I have said numerous times....those silly poor white folks in the midwest like to vote against their best interests. Seems to me, their support of R's will bite them in their stupid asses. Good, one vote, one idiot.

Working-class whites are the biggest beneficiaries of federal poverty-reduction programs, even though blacks and Hispanics have substantially higher rates of poverty, according to a new study to be released Thursday by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

Government assistance and tax credits lifted 6.2 million working-class whites out of poverty in 2014, more than any other racial or ethnic demographic. Half of all working-age adults without college degrees lifted out of poverty by safety-net programs are white; nearly a quarter are black and a fifth are Hispanic.

Figure1
The result does not simply reflect the fact that there are more white people in the country. The percentage of otherwise poor whites lifted from poverty by government safety-net programs is higher, at 44 percent, compared to 35 percent of otherwise poor minorities, the study concluded.

Among working-class minorities, blacks also benefit significantly from government programs, with 43 percent of otherwise poor blacks being lifted from poverty by the safety net. Only 28 percent of otherwise poor Hispanics were lifted from poverty by these programs.

“There is a perception out there that the safety net is only for minorities. While it’s very important to minorities because they have higher poverty rates and face barriers that lead to lower earnings, it’s also quite important to whites, particularly the white working class,” said Isaac Shapiro, a senior fellow at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities and one of the report’s authors.

So someone who has become a multi-billionaire, is married to a super model, became a reality television star, and then went on to become President of the United States.

Should not be taken seriously... because the Party completely shut out of power thinks "he is crazy".

Moreover, the out of power Party simply can't understand why actual politicians in the Governing Party will not agree with them and put him in the funny farm. They most certainly see some sort of conspiracy at the concept that nearly 90% of self-identified Republicans approve of the job he is doing as President.

Apparently nearly half of the country must be "crazy"...

You like CH have no idea how gvmt contracting is done.....He had nothing to do with the decrease, that contract was already in place with options which are negotiated based on labor learning curves for that lot size and all previous lots, plus continued improvements in manufacturing and a base line that is better known. Just the additional units will result in a 10=15% labor decrease alone. Go serve a goat.

He won bupkis. Idiot.

BTW lie of the day.....largest electoral college win since reagan. Pure bull, but you eat it like loretta's marine kisses her ass.

Servicing wayne leperier again. Can't get out of their own way, but retards and schizo's can buy a gun. Brilliant.

For all their dysfunction, the Republican Senate and House have managed to act with lightning speed in striking down a sensible Obama administration rule designed to stop people with severe mental problems from buying guns.

President Trump, who championed the National Rifle Association agenda as a candidate, is expected to sign the regressive measure. This, despite the Republican mantra that tighter control of mentally troubled individuals — not stronger gun control — is the better way to deal with the mass shootings and gun carnage that regularly afflict the nation.

The Senate voted Wednesday to join the House in revoking the rule. It would have required the Social Security Administration to add about 75,000 people, currently on disability support, to the national background check database and deny them gun purchases. These individuals suffer schizophrenia, psychotic disorders and other problems to such an extent that they are unable to manage their financial affairs and other basic tasks without help.

As early as 1945, the ACLU had taken a stand to protect the rights of the mentally ill, when it drafted a model statute governing mental commitments.[257] In the 1960s, the ACLU opposed involuntary commitments,

Something the ACLU has done for years, densa....And now you like the ACLU.....hypocrite thy name is McPee.

not true at all.

the law supposedly designed to keep schizos and crazies from buying guns is being totally misrepresented by the left.

what 0linsky's gun law did was prohibit those receiving SDDI payments via a representative payee from purchasing a gun.

is was assumed, incorrectly, that if a person required a rep payee they must be unable to responsibly purchase and own a gun.

openly discriminatory and clearly in violation of due process.

it was a shitty and cynical gun control measure. nothing more, nothing less.
