Never Presidential to criticize Justices or the Court?

Except, of course, when it's done by Obama... then it's all justified and good.

As usual, you ignore the fact that Obama never disobeyed a court order. Trump, by implication in his and his spokesman, said they were going to ignore the ruling. This isn't going to make you happy either.

Seattle judge lets Trump travel ban suit roll on

Meanwhile, another court issues preliminary injunction protecting Virginia residents who are citizens of seven countries targeted in executive order.

By Josh Gerstein

A judge in Seattle has turned down the federal government's request to put a lawsuit there on hold while an appeals court mulls further action regarding President Donald Trump's travel ban executive order.

At a hearing Monday, U.S. District Court Judge James Robart rejected the Justice Department's call for a delay and invoked Trump's own Twitter comments seeming to seek quick action in the case.

"I thought the president said, We'll see you in court?" Robart said, according to a KOMO-TV reporter present at the hearing.

Robart declared that the case involved a "very sensitive time issue," so should not be slowed down, the Associated Press reported.

Lawyers for the states of Washington and Seattle had urged Robart to allow the suit to move forward, likely to a phase where discovery into the facts and circumstances behind the issuance of Trump's Jan. 27 could be explored.

The George W. Bush appointee imposed a broad temporary restraining order against the directive on Feb. 3, effectively opening the borders and airports again to travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries affected by the ban.

In a ruling Thursday, a three-judge 9th Circuit panel unanimously declined to disturb that decision. However, another 9th Circuit judge called for a vote on whether to reconsider that ruling through a larger, 11-judge court.

President Donald Trump's embattled national security adviser Michael Flynn, who faced questions about a call to the Russian ambassador prior to the inauguration, has resigned.

Retired Army General Keith Kellogg was named acting national security adviser to replace Flynn.

ABC News reported Monday that Flynn called Vice President Mike Pence on Friday to apologize for misleading him about his conversation with the ambassador in November. Flynn previously denied that he spoke about sanctions the U.S. imposed on Russia for its suspected interference in the 2016 election, a claim repeated by Pence in January.

An administration official later claimed Pence was relying on information provided to him by Flynn.

In his resignation later, Flynn cited the "fast pace of events" for “inadvertently” briefing “the Vice President Elect and others with incomplete information regarding [his] phone calls with the Russian Ambassador.”

Despite calls for his firing from Democrats, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-California, Trump's counselor, Kellyanne Conway, appeared on MSNBC Monday afternoon and said that Flynn had “the full confidence of the president.”

Just an hour later however, White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus released a statement saying that “the president is evaluating the situation."

In his letter tendering his resignation, Flynn noted that he apologized to Trump and Pence who each accepted the apology.

"Throughout my over thirty three years of honorable military service, and my tenure as the National Security Advisor, I have always performed my duties with the utmost of integrity and honesty to those I have served, to include the President of the United States," wrote Flynn.

This is a developing story. Please check back in for updates.

Roger - The Obama administration provided over 2000 illegal aliens with permanent status "after" they were ordered by the court to stop... that is 2000 separate acts of defying a court order.

The three-year deportation amnesty was part of Mr. Obama’s November 2014 announcement when he proposed granting a three-year tentative deportation amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. It was to be a massive expansion, in both eligibility and duration, of his 2012 amnesty, which granted two-year amnesty to so-called Dreamers.

Judge Andrew S. Hanen blocked the expansion in February, issuing an injunction that remains in place even as the administration appeals it to a higher court. The next hearing on that appeal is due July 10.

But Judge Hanen was shocked to learn that USCIS issued the 2,000 three-year amnesties even after he’d issued his injunction.

Again, you ignore that Obama actually "defied a court order"... while you continue to act as if Trump has when in fact he has fully complied. What sort of alternate reality do you live in? (Trump Derangement Syndrome)

Yes Obama has disobeyed a court order. That Texas judge came close to contempt charges in 2015 for obama continuing to give benefits to thousands of illegal aliens in direct violation of his amnesty ruling.

I guess msnbc didn't tell you that.

I haven't been inebriated for, four years, seven months and twenty two days.

I broke the story on this side and on the legend side. It's huge.

What a huge story this is. It raises serious questions.

1: When did the President know?
2: What did he know?

The vice President was lied to. He was used in the same way, that Colin Powell in his speech to the United Nations. I find it hard to believe that the President didn't know, when he sent to Vice President to the Sunday morning talk shows and deny the morning shows. If the President didn't know, why not!

This explains why the Russians didn't react harshly when President Obama expelled 35 Russians. They knew what the President Elect wouldn't continue the harsh treatment.

This looks like a White House out of control.

Roger - Hanen even ordered sanctions against the attorneys who lied to him about the fact the Administration had not been complying.

From wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_S._Hanen

On May 19, 2016, while the case was awaiting decision at the Supreme Court, as a lesser alternative to entirely striking the government's pleadings, Hanen demanded that some 3,000 Department of Justice lawyers in 26 states take ethics classes, and ordered other sanctions for those who argued Texas v. United States, involving President Obama's immigration executive actions.[8][9] Hanen did not explain why he extended his sanctions to attorneys who had no involvement in the case.[10] Hanen accused Justice Department's lawyers of lying to him during arguments in the case, and barred them from appearing in his courtroom.[8] He accused the department of "a calculated plan of unethical conduct".[11] Hanen also ordered Attorney General Loretta Lynch to appoint someone within the department to ensure compliance with his order.[11]

I do think that there is a strong possibility that Trump will be impeached.

If this incompetent manner of governing continues, the Republicans will lose the congress like the Republicans did in 2010.

Secondly, the street demonstrations that are happening even in deeply red states.

Third, Republicans are facing large, hostile and loud crowds in public meetings, that may be an indication of the next elections will be very difficult for the Republicans.

Thank you Myballs.

I am leaving my fifth birthday on May 25th. Most recovering alcoholics that make it five years without a relapse will never relapse again.

On a non topical comment.

I got an email from my Doctor in the liver transplant group, said that UCLA is requesting additional exception points on my MELD number. It was accepted by the UNOS board at 29 just a month ago, from 21 last November. If they accept the score of 35, I will get at least a standby transplant call. Every time a patient gets an offer, two standby transplant candidates are on standby because the liver is not usable. That won't be any fun, but it's a good thing.

If I get a 35+ score, I will get an offer within a year.

I'm a high risk candidate, but because I have kept in good physical condition, and followed all the directions. My personal physician, a couple months ago, actually became emotional, and stepped out of the doctor to patient position and said, "I know you will survive".

Every one of my doctors have taken a personal approach to me. I have done everything as they asked. Maintaining my sobriety is appreciated, because a majority fail. Again, thanks for the support.

Another polls with poor sampling techniques as our esteemed host will claim. LOL

(CNN)President Donald Trump's approval rating reached a new low Saturday, according to a poll from Gallup, as the new administration has struggled to find its footing nearly a month into the term. The daily tracking poll found that just 40% of Americans approve of President Trump's job as president so far, compared to 55% who say the disapprove. The negative 15-point spread is the highest recorded in the poll since Trump took office January 20.

One more. It's very rewarding.

When I either I am a meeting leader or just sharing in my AA meetings, when I speak, I get the attention of all the others. More than I ever thought, many others at the meetings, get emotional, and after the meetings, more than I can remember have thanked me for helping them to deal with the disease. A couple times, they said that when I'm sharing, that there is an "aura" in the room. Most of them don't think I'm an ass. LOL.

This process is very demanding emotionally charged. Because I've had two near death experiences, I have become to believe that there is a greater power. I believe there is a reason I'm still here. I have been reaching out to those who need help. I think that is why I'm still here.

And of course, to drive rrb and Loretta over the edge. :-) :-) :-)

From my email, ABC

THE BIG STORY

The exit of Gen. Michael Flynn from the Trump White House stands as evidence that, for as much as President Trump is defying norms and conventions, there are political laws that still apply to him and his closest aides. Now that Flynn is gone, the Trump team will learn that firings don't necessarily quiet Washington conflagrations. Flynn's ouster raises multiple new questions, starting with some big ones: When did the president know his conversation with the Russian ambassador included talk of sanctions? Did Trump ask him to have that conversation? What other negotiations did Flynn have during a period where he was publicly compromised by being on record with a falsehood? Will Republicans join Democrats in demanding a thorough investigation? And – perhaps the biggest: Who else on the Trump team had off-the-books communications with the Russians during the campaign and transition period? This is a story that has tentacles that spread throughout some of the biggest and most suspicious storylines of Trump's still-brief political career. The Russia story is Trump's bear to bear.

THE SLEEPER STORY

The Facebook account has since been deleted, and the pictures themselves – the president and his top aides smiling at a pleasant dinner with the prime minister of Japan – are innocent enough. But the idea that they were discussing the details of a North Korean missile launch, inside cellphone camera range (if not quite earshot) of members of the Mar-a-Lago Club – is head-scratching. "Trump turned his table into an al fresco situation room," The Washington Post reported. Even if that's not exactly what it was – we don't know what, specifically, was discussed – the idea that this is the new normal is astounding. After a campaign where email security and hacking was kind of a big deal, this is kind of nuts. And isn't the White House contention that only "logistics" was discussed in public on Saturday night reminiscent of initial explanations for the Flynn phone call?
