No support. But minority continues to protest...

Only 28 percent of Americans support former President Barack Obama’s pro-transgender claim that the federal government should decide bathroom policies in elementary and secondary schools, says a new poll by Rasmussen Reports. In contrast, 36 percent said local governments should set “bathroom policies” governing youths who say they want to live as members of the opposite sex. Another 28 percent of respondents said state government should set the rules for transgender disputes.
That adds up to 64 percent opposition and only 28 percent support for federal rule. The two-to-one opposition is bad news for progressives, who are currently campaigning for federal politicians and federal judges to impose a national policy that would allow people to change their legal sex by simply declaring they have the “gender identity” of an opposite-sex person.
There is a massive amount of weight surrounding how this will eventually play out. I am not hundred percent sure "why" this has become such a big issue for the left, but it appears as if they may have simply run out of other things to "take to court".

At this point in time, there is no scientific consensus on whether or not transgenderism is biological, emotional, or might even cross into a mental disorder such as pedophilia. There seems to be an a whole lot of areas for concern, even above and beyond the massive amounts of people disturbed by the simple concept of young students being forced (by executive decree) to dress and shower in front of people who are biologically the opposite sex.

Either way, once again it seems as though Donald Trump has simultaneously tapped into the concerns of everyday Americans while causing the left to throw a massive hissy fit.

You defend a baker who is a party of one against baking for a gay wedding....But the many trans, which just don't require compassion, but need to have the same rights as all, but you are against that. Oh well, the transformation and brain replacement is complete......

I can guess that it's well over 80% of the parents are in favor of the federal government getting out of the business of telling little Johnny and Jackie who they have to pee with.

Opie - according to an AP poll taken right after the USSC:

Asked specifically about the Supreme Court ruling, 39 percent said they approve and 41 percent said they disapprove...59 percent of the poll respondents said wedding-related businesses with religious objections should be allowed to refuse service to gay and lesbian couples.

The baker is not a party of one, he is represented by the majority of Americans who feel that religious liberties should still matter.

Your very vocal "minority" has shown itself capable of being on the losing end of a ton of local, state, and federal political seats. Do you honestly believe that the hundred year low status of the Democratic Party is not at least somewhat associated with these social issues that have been forced on people by the courts?

Politically, the left would be smart to curb the transgender issue. It's a loser.

Gee, the same can be said about women's rights for health care

an AP poll taken right after the USSC:

Still is discrimination, CH. A poll proves what???? I thought you said all polls have poor samples, except when you use them. God dayum, you are a bigger hypocrite than densa boy. LOLOL. Keep digging.

No Opie... you accused me of defending a "party of one".

Whereas I am pointing out that a majority of Americans still stand with people's individual rights to agree or disagree with a position (regardless of what a court states)... Meaning I am defending a majority viewpoint, not a Party of one.

And pointing out that a minority (which can be clearly seen by election results as much as any polling) still continuously are out there self-righteously protesting the fact that not every agrees with their opinions.

Yes I did, and that party of one is a bigot, like you. Polls as you know mean shit. How many actual bakers were in that poll????? What you are pointing out is that America still believes in discrimination. PERIOD. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SERVE GAYS....PUT UP A SIGN NO GAYS ALLOWED, and see how their business prospers.. LOL.

Not much posting here as CH has declared victory based on poll bigotry.. thought this would be of some interest to at least 1 here....LOL

A February remarkable for its long stretches of mildness steamed onward Thursday, with more all-time records for the month continuing to tumble across wide stretches of the U.S. The apex of the record-setting warmth expanded on Thursday from the Midwest (which we covered in our last post) into New York and New England (see below). A staggering number of daily record highs have been set in recent days, especially when juxtaposed against the sparse number of record lows this month. As of Friday morning, NOAA’s U.S. Records site had compiled 4492 daily record highs for February 2017, against a mere 29 daily record lows, for a lopsided highs-to-lows ratio of 155-to-1. With record highs expected to far outpace record lows through the end of the month, February has a very good chance of smashing the highest ratio in modern records: 44-to-1, from November 2016, as reported by longtime records tracker Guy Walton (@climateguyw) in his new Guy on Climate blog. Brian Kahn (Climate Central) puts it this way: “The U.S. is poised to set a record-setting record.”

Another astounding tidbit: the NOAA site shows 248 monthly record highs for February, but no monthly record lows at all. This is the first time that Walton recalls seeing such a skewed ratio of monthly records. It almost goes without saying that this onslaught of February records is entirely consistent with the warming of national and global climate being generated by human-produced greenhouse gases, as noted by Andrew Freedman (Mashable).

KD, Hi Opie, having a great day I hope said...

Funny how things get in the way of Opie.

You tell us polls matter, and then you tell us they don't.

So in the run up to the US Election of the President your team was sure of a win, yet, the polls should have told you that defeat was at hand, how did you miss it, well , you did not look at the polls that mattered to people the issues.

Hillary lost on defense of the US Boarders and the 30 million illegals already here and her declaration that she wanted no us boarders.

Hillary hand no job creation plan, none.

Hillary lost because she wanted status qou ObamaCare.

Hillary lost because your issue "make Algore Rich" aka GorbalWarming ranked , well, it didn't rank, and you lost.

Take the advice of Woodward "stop Whining" .

Since when did we start governing based on opinion polling?

If we did, the schools would be teaching creationism in our schools. Same thing on auto smog control, and a lot more ignorance based opinions.

President Trump’s promise to repeal and replace Obamacare.

The analysis, presented to a closed-door meeting of governors, was prepared by Avalere Health, a health-care consulting firm. The document was first described in a report published by Vox. Newly installed Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price also attended the session. Trump has said the administration will offer its plan soon.

Roger - the first amendment allows for the freedom of both religion and the free exercise of such. If that religion suggests you don't take part in certain ceremonies... how is "not" considered a free exercise of your religious beliefs?

Doesn't matter if you agree or if I agree. I have no issues with gay marriage, and have attended gay marriage ceremonies. That's my personal opinion and my personal choice. But my personal opinion is just that, mine... and I am not so arrogant and self righteous to demand that everyone else follow my beliefs.

I honestly don't get why the left is having a meltdown over the transgender thing. Literally, denial of reality is a component of mental illness. Granted we ALL do that to some degree, and whether it rises to neurosis, or mental illness or psychotic break is a matter of degree and social convention.

So here we have people of a given gender, physically and indisputably. They want it to be different, and hope that it will become so if they behave as if physical reality conforms to their own mental images. That's fine, and everyone is guilty of magical thinking some time and I wouldn't take away any of their rights for it. But does anyone really have the right to force everyone else to accept his own denial of reality? That's really what the Left is demanding, and I don't think they have the right.

What if I "identify" as a different race, should everyone have to accept it for legal purposes, such as racial discrimination, and by law socially? If genetics is mutable by my self-identification, then I identify as a heir to Bill Gates. What are my chances in a lawsuit, should I win because I self-identify? If not, what gives the transgender more right to do than than me? Isn't that discrimination, if they have the right to modify genetics in legal terms and I don't?
