The Bedrock of Trumpism Hypocrisy.

The White House was" unaware that the intelligence house chair was briefing President Trump."

2 White House Officials Helped Give Nunes Intelligence Reports.
The Coldheartedtruth of what and where he was informed.

WASHINGTON — A pair of White House officials helped provide Representative Devin Nunes of California, a Republican and the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, with the intelligence reports that showed that President Trump and his associates were incidentally swept up in foreign surveillance by American spy agencies.

The revelation on Thursday that White House officials disclosed the reports, which Mr. Nunes then discussed with Mr. Trump, is likely to fuel criticism that the intelligence chairman has been too eager to do the bidding of the Trump administration while his committee is supposed to be conducting an independent investigation of Russia’s meddling in the presidential election.

It is the latest twist of a bizarre Washington drama that began after dark on March 21, when Mr. Nunes got a call from a person he has described only as a source. The call came as he was riding across town in an Uber car, and he quickly diverted to the White House. The next day, Mr. Nunes gave a hastily arranged news conference before running off to brief Mr. Trump on what he had learned the night before from — as it turns out — White House officials
.
The chain of events — and who helped provide the intelligence to Mr. Nunes — was detailed to The New York Times by four American officials.

Since disclosing the existence of the intelligence reports, Mr. Nunes has refused to identify his sources, saying he needed to protect them so others would feel safe coming to the committee with sensitive information. In his public comments, he has described his sources as whistle-blowers trying to expose wrongdoing at great risk to themselves.

Sean Spicer, the White House spokesman, refused to confirm or deny at his daily briefing that Mr. Ellis and Mr. Cohen-Watnick were Mr. Nunes’s sources. The administration’s concern was the substance of the intelligence reports, not how they ended up in Mr. Nunes’s hands, Mr. Spicer said.

The “obsession with who talked to whom, and when, is not the answer,” Mr. Spicer said. “It should be the substance.”

The Trump White House has been caught up again in a circle of lies, upon lies. All in the attempt to divert any and all attention to the possible collusion between the Trump campaign and possibly the administration.

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who briefly served as national security adviser to President Donald Trump, is seeking immunity from prosecution in exchange for testifying on the president’s ties to Russia, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

According to the report, Flynn made the offer to the FBI, the House intelligence committee and the Senate intelligence committee. All three entities are currently investigating whether Trump’s associates had contact with Russian officials during the 2016 presidential campaign. According to the Wall Street Journal, none of them have yet accepted Flynn’s offer.

NBC’s Peter Alexander confirmed part of the WSJ report:

I have 1,771 days. I'm not a drunk, I am a recovering alcoholic. Not even close to a relapse. I speak, help others.

The story is accurate. I looked around and, found nothing credible that called them into question. They lied. The President and the White House, has not spoken in regards to the story.

I verified the story.

Roger Amick said...

The Wall Street Journal. Are they "Fake News" too?

They are owned by NewsCorp.

WASHINGTON—Mike Flynn, President Donald Trump’s former national security adviser, has told the Federal Bureau of Investigation and congressional officials investigating the Trump campaign’s potential ties to Russia that he is willing to be interviewed in exchange for a grant of immunity from prosecution, according to officials with knowledge of the matter.

As an adviser to Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign, and later one of Mr. Trump’s top aides in the White House, Mr. Flynn was privy to some of the most sensitive foreign-policy deliberations of the new administration and was directly involved in discussions about the possible lifting of sanctions on Russia imposed by the Obama administration.

He has made the offer to the FBI and the House and Senate intelligence committees through his lawyer but has so far found no takers, the officials said.

Mr. Flynn’s attorney, Robert Kelner, wouldn’t comment on details of his discussions involving Mr. Flynn, but noted he is a decorated Army veteran with a lifetime of public service.

“General Flynn certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit,” Mr. Kelner said.

It wasn’t clear if Mr. Flynn had offered to talk about specific aspects of his time working for Mr. Trump, but the fact that he was seeking immunity suggested Mr. Flynn feels he may be in legal jeopardy following his brief stint as the national security adviser, one official said.

Representatives for the FBI and Senate Intelligence Committee declined to comment. Officials with the House Intelligence Committee didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Mr. Flynn was forced to resign after acknowledging that he misled White House officials about the nature of his phone conversations with the Russian ambassador to the U.S. during the presidential transition.

Mr. Flynn’s communications with the Russian ambassador, Sergei Kislyak, have been scrutinized by the FBI, which is examining whether Trump campaign personnel colluded with Russian officials who are alleged to have interfered with the presidential election, according to current and former U.S. officials. Russia has denied the allegations.

Roger Amick said...

Mr. Flynn also was paid tens of thousands of dollars by three Russian companies, including the state-sponsored media network RT, for speeches he made shortly before he became a formal adviser to Mr. Trump’s campaign, according to documents obtained by a congressional oversight committee.

At a House Intelligence Committee hearing last week, Democratic lawmakers requested a copy of the security-clearance form that Mr. Flynn was required to file before joining Mr. Trump in the White House, to see if he disclosed sources of foreign income.

Roger Amick said...

Before Flynn was fired, he reported to only one person in the White House, President Donald J.Trump.

Roger Amick said...

This is getting worse every day. The Trump administration claimed that house intelligence chair did not inform the President intelligence on the Russian involvement in trying to rig of the election. The "Fake News" New York Time has a story as damaging as "Deep throat" in 1973. They got caught in a web of lies, and we need to be informed. This is why a free press is in the First Amendment of the Constitution. They speak truth to power.

“This Russian propaganda on steroids was designed to poison the national conversation in America,” Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate intelligence committee, said Thursday.
Russian bots still interfering in U.S. politics after election, says expert witness

The campaign has targeted President Trump himself.Warner and his colleagues heard details about Russia’s vast information warfare campaign, which involves at least 15,000 operatives worldwide writing and spreading false news stories and conspiracy theories online. Witnesses said the effort goes back years and often starts with Russian-backed media.
“I can tell you right now, accounts tweet at President Trump during high volumes when they know he’s online and they push conspiracy theories,” Watts, the former FBI agent, told CBS News.
Many of the fake news stories begin with real events. Last August, during an active shooter scare at New York’s JFK airport, Watts says Russian fake news writers added to the panic.
“We watched social media trolls and grey outlets pump fake stories out,” Watts said, “… which ramped up that fear.”
The Russians tried to manipulate a protest at a U.S. military base in Turkey into a major terrorist attack. They also tried to sow unrest in the U.S. by inflaming protests such as Occupy Wall Street and the Black Lives Matter movement.

“What we’ve seen publically released is probably under 1 percent of what we’d attribute to the Russian government stealing,” Mandia told CBS News. The Russians also used sophisticated hacking, like their intrusion into the Democratic National Committee. Cyber security expert Kevin Mandia says they stole much more than what has been released on websites like WikiLeaks and Guccifer 2.0.
And the hacking continues.
“Within the last 24 hours, at 10:45 a.m. yesterday, a second attempt was made again against former members of my presidential campaign team who had access to our internal information, again targeted from an IP address from an unknown location in Russia,” Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, a former presidential candidate, said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin denied Thursday that Moscow meddled in the election. Putin stole a phrase that was made famous by the first President Bush, replying to an interviewer, “Read my lips -- no”.

Remembering the Election that the media called in early October 2016 for Hillary , Obama's Third term was a sure thing. Trump had zero roads to victory.

I could go back and get the posts from the leftist here that declared with the US Press it was over, Obama's Maid Hillay was going to win in a walk, history first woman to hold the office.

Oh is was going to be liberalisms greatest victory.

But, then reality of Nov 8th, around 9 central time as the Nation Watched, Trump Took over and by 3 am Central time on Nov 9th , it was over, Trump had taken the rust belt, the coal belt , the bread basket States and he had won.

Hillary never did address HER people, never did the right thing and publically walk up on stage, admit defeat publically, no she sent some lap dog to the stage and he whimpered for the crying crowd to go home, defeat was theirs, the US Media was in meltdown, my fav of course was replaying CNN NBC and Maddow Meltdown was epic "THIS IS OUR HELL".

The US Media had too much invest, too much time, too much money, too much emotion to have lost, so they ran to the Obama Maid Hillary camp and asked what should the report, well, they were told , blame the Russians, they kept people from voting in key states, the Russians did not allow Hillary to talk to people in key States, the Russians keep making her faint, stagger and fall, The Russians, the Russians.

SO with the US Media so invested they ran with the story, Obama team leaked secret data and names, unmasking Americans, and their you have it.

Trump Lost.

Hillary is to be sworn in when ?

i think it's occam's razor defined.

in 2016 democrats ran the worst candidate in modern history, bar none, while convincing themselves as portrayed by the usual suspects around here, that queenie's victory BY A LANDSLIDE was a formality and a foregone conclusion.

then OOPSIE, we got trump. that was not supposed to happen.

so then, embarrassed beyond belief, the left needed a reason - a scapegoat - to explain away their bitter defeat. and in the irony of ironies, the left decided to blame those who they have for decades adored - the russians. and here we are.

the genesis of where we find ourselves is simply the culmination of the left simply continuing to refuse to accept the result of the election. like i said, this was not supposed to happen. this could not have happened. hillary had earned the presidency. it was her right to become president. she deserved it. it was her consolation prize for the decades of torment she suffered at the hands of an asshole husband. so, the opinion and subsequent votes of the great deplorable unwashed masses and ignorant rubes like me must be declared invalid somehow.

on a related note from the "do as we say but not as we do" files:

Database Tracks History Of U.S. Meddling In Foreign Elections

This is hardly the first time a country has tried to influence the outcome of another country's election. The U.S. has done it, too, by one expert's count, more than 80 times worldwide between 1946 and 2000. That expert is Dov Levin of Carnegie Mellon University. I asked him to tell me about one election where U.S. intervention likely made a difference in the outcome.

I don't think Putin has won, at least not yet.

People (especially Trump voters) still have confidence in he electoral process.

As as of right now, this is strictly an inside the beltway hyperventilating issue.

However if the establishment does manage to remove Trump in a coup and deny the electors their choice for president then you will see a complete loss of confidence in the system (as well as a rebellion).

And then Putin would win.

okay. so why can't we find an 0linsky-appointed judge to declare twitter illegal and have it shut down?

can't we get the ninth circus to step in on this? i mean, if they can declare a statute that empowers the president to ban immigration from certain countries invalid without ever mentioning the actual text of the statute in their ruling, then we should easily be able to get them to shutter twitter immediately, and remove a valuable propaganda tool from the arsenal of those who would undermine our democracy.
