A message for liberals...

Liberals love to follow the media narrative that Trump is inconsistent, incoherent, incompetent and to some degree downright crazy. I would offer that this is largely a media narrative, rather than actual reality. Yes, every new administration will have it's issues. Yes, Trump behaves in a manner we are not used to in a President. But like every President, this one has gotten a lot right as well.

Bottom Line: Liberals literally believe everything written in the NT Times, Washington Post and Politico as if it is gospel.

So I offer a simple recommendation:

Anything you read that starts with "It has been reported that Trump..." or "A key Trump adviser has leaked" or pretty much everything that you did not see on Trump's twitter account, see the President do yourself, or literally hear come out of his mouth yourself... should be ignored.

If you can follow that one simple rule, then Donald Trump would probably make much more sense to you. While there seems to always be a little controlled chaos with Trump, his actions would seem more consistent and coherent if you simply took them at face value, rather than judge them on what others "report" is happening "behind the scenes" or what others "speculate" to be some other intent or meaning.

I know this would be hard, if not impossible. But if you cannot find cause (based solely on what you can verify to be actually real) to believe what you want to about Trump... then you are simply being manipulated by other people's stories, speculation, and judgement. Most of which is completely unverifiable and generally lacking in the ability to pass the basic smell test.

You are saying that the only reason, that people like me, are manipulated to believe that Donald Trump is mentally ill?

You are confused, because he has manipulated you into believing that Trump the reason he fired Comey for different reasons he had his vice president and spokesperson in different reasons.

He still believes that the Obama administration wiretaped his build. He believes that the crowd was the largest in history.

He fired the man who was investigating his Russian possible ties.

The list of delusional beliefs would fill this blog comments.

I am not gullible and easily misled. But your beliefs are not sane.

Your grammar leaves a bit to be desired here... But, yes, the only reason you (or anyone would) believe Donald Trump is crazy is due to fact one chooses to believe every single story written about him. I would offer that you could not make a coherent argument for Donald Trump being "clinically insane" based solely on things you can confirm (personally) that he has said or done.

In other words: You cannot make the argument without citing reporters, unnamed sources, or otherwise unsubstantiated "stories" you have been told.

You may disagree with some of his decisions as President, but you would disagree with the decisions of "any" Republican President. Disagreeing with a President over immigration orders, personnel firings, or environmental regulations... does not equate to someone being "crazy".

LOL! If you're breathing, you're lying.

CH comments on grammar and misses the point.....What story did you believe since there were at least 5 explanations of the firing. But, in your frozen mind, trump did nothing wrong and all his people told the alternative truths as they thought of them. Sad, you are using menstral logic, deny deny deny, and trump is the only one telling the truth, if you can get a single explanation from him. Now, the threats to comey, a private citizen who probably knows a lot more than trump will ever admit to. He is hiding something with all the changing narrative and light thinkers like yourself continue the charade. It ain't gonna end well, IMHO.

President Trump's White House can't get its story about the firing of FBI director James Comey straight. Trump offered a potential solution Friday: cancel all press briefings.

TRUMP TWEET: "As a very active President with lots of things happening, it is not possible for my surrogates to stand at podium with perfect accuracy!"* Trump tweeted.
"Maybe the best thing to do would be to cancel all future "press briefings" and hand out written responses for the sake of accuracy???"

*especially not when you keep changing your story.

And i wonder when we begin to overanalyze the obama firings of all those generals.

Simple. I believe the explanation given by Trump himself.

I believe that he had made a decision to fire Comey, but likely waited till Comey's direct boss was confirmed and had his say before acting on it.

That being said, I also understand how the letters written by both the AG and the Deputy AG just a day or two before the firing would lead people to believe that those letters were the reasons. When in fact, they were likely just more ammunition.

that's because sane, rational people understand two fundamental things -

1) the FBI director serves at the pleasure of the president.

2) the president owes NO ONE including the FBI director an explanation or a reason.

C.H. Truth said...

Again, you miss the point

No... actually you did.

I told you that when it comes to what Donald Trump was thinking as it pertained to firing Comey... that I believe what Donald Trump stated.

That's what you asked. That's what I answered.
_______

What Pence or Spicer or anyone else stated was quite obviously a matter of their own speculation or possibly the "company line".

Since the dismissal letter to Comey included the memos from both the AG and the Deputy AG, the speculation that those letters were the reason (or the reasoning) is not an outlandish speculation, nor would it be inconsistent with how a firing might take place.

When you fire someone (and I have done it multiple times) you provide for the most obvious, easy to defend reasons for doing so... even if there are other underlying reasons you may do so. You do not provide anything more than the bullet points. 999 times out of 1000, if those reasons are valid, then that's all that matters.

The real issue here, Opie... is with the Press. I believe in the eight years Obama was President, very few (if any) reporters went to Jay Carney or Josh Earnest or the V.P. Joe Biden and asked them what President Obama was "thinking" when he did something. It would otherwise be considered a somewhat disrespectful question, and one that no Press Secretary should be required to know what their boss "was thinking". The Press Secretary is there to provide the facts, not be a mind reader and provide a breakdown of the President's thought pattern on a subject.

of course, within the Press... there was never "any concern" with Obama's actions, so there was never any speculation about ulterior motives or anything else. What Obama did was taken at face value, and questions surrounding them were not accusational or otherwise combative. They accepted what they were told and went on their merry way, like the good minions that they are.

Is it a fact or untrue, that Trump has admitted:

1. During a private dinner with Comey, he was evaluating whether to keep Comey as the head of RBI
2. During that dinner, he asked about the FBI investigation regarding his campaign ties to Russia
3. During the dinner, Trump wanted assurances of Comey's loyalty to him personally.
4. In deciding to fire Comey, the Russia investigation was a factor in the context

If all of this is true, it is not unreasonable for Democrats to question whether Trump intended to interfere with the investigation. However, if that is truly such an overarching concern, it should be a Special Investigator heading up the investigation in an independent probe, and not someone reporting to the President. So it is also not unreasonable to question whether the Democrats are just playing politics with it.

especially since every prominent democrat was calling for comey to be fired what seems like only yesterday.

trump gives them exactly what they asked for and they go batshit insane.

so yes, playing politics with it is exactly what they're doing.

hypocrisy is like oxygen to democrats. without it they die.

GET READY FOR SOME KNEE SLAPPERS---

White House Won’t Confirm or Deny Recording Devices

White House press secretary Sean Spicer deflected questions about a tweet by President Trump in which Trump said former FBI Director James Comey should hope there are no “tapes” of their conversations, Market Watch reports.

Asked if Trump recorded the conversations and if there are recording devices in the Oval Office or residence, Spicer said: “The president has nothing further to add on that.”

Comey Not Worried About Any Tapes

A source close to James Comey tells CNN the former FBI Director is “not worried about any tapes” of conversations between him and President Trump, adding that “if there is a tape, there’s nothing he is worried about” that could be on it.

“Friday morning, Trump issued a thinly veiled threat to Comey, apparently suggesting there are possibly recorded conversations between the two men that could be leaked to counter the former FBI director if necessary.”

Comey ‘Taken Aback’ When Trump Asked for Loyalty

A source close to James Comey tells CNN that the former FBI Director was “taken aback” by President Trump’s request for a personal assurance or pledge of loyalty at a dinner shortly after he took office.

“Comey refused to do so, saying he could not provide such a pledge — those who work at the FBI pledge their loyalty to the US Constitution, not to any individual person — but he promised to always be honest with the President.”

One new detail: “The late January dinner was arranged at Trump’s request.”
