What if...

  • Donald Trump is caught lying to the investigators in upcoming Mueller Special investigation.
  • What if, on top of his personal perjury he is also caught trying to influence other witnesses into making false statements.
  • What if that influence bordered on threatening, by calling on government attorneys to personally visit and attempt to coerce these witnesses into signing statements pre-written by Trump's legal counsel?

What would be the fallout? Would it all go away if he simply apologized?

Donald Trump is caught lying to the investigators in upcoming Mueller Special investigation. If he is under oath, he is guilty of perjury.

What if, on top of his personal perjury he is also caught trying to influence other witnesses into making false statements. He is guilty of obstruction of justice.

What if that influence bordered on threatening, by calling on government attorneys to personally visit and attempt to coerce these witnesses into signing statements pre-written by Trump's legal counsel? He is guilty of obstruction of justice.

The un-asked question. Is he impeachable? No, it's not giving aid and comfort to the enemy. The house could indict. The Senate would not convict.

Alert. Reuters.

I could see where he was going on this. As to peyote, I used it two or three times. It was available through the Sioux Tribes. early seventies. Made you real goofy feeling. It made a female friend, "interesting"

The statement from last night. Well write in legalism.
"As I have sated, many times, a through investigation will confirm what we already, know, there was on collusion between my campaign and any foreign entity\ I look forward to this matter, concluding quickly.

Then at 6:30 AM here came the witch hunt. The Real Trump, irrational and compulsive

I have to wonder why you and the others aren't troubled by the President's erratic behavior. Even if he is removed, a true, hard core conservative who probably would be much more likely to get the conservative laws passed.

And be honest, it's not the end of the world.

If he was too "unsophisticated" to know it was illegal, and didn't intend to commit a specific crime like treason, then by the Hillary standard he'd not only walk free but wouldn't even need to issue an apology.

I knew that he was trying to set a trap. It also refers to Clinton's impeachment.

heh. told ya:

The man tasked with investigating possible meddling by Russia in the 2016 presidential election – a probe that will likely encompass President Trump’s recent firing of FBI Director James Comey – once called Comey “one of the finest people I’ve ever met.”

[...]

But Mueller and Comey have been longtime allies dating back to at least 2003 when the men both worked in Washington, D.C., Mueller as FBI Director and Comey as Deputy Attorney General.

The men were memorably cast – mostly via Comey’s 2007 testimony – as honorable men standing against government overreach when they talked former President George W. Bush out of pushing ahead the renewal of a controversial surveillance program. That episode included a supposedly dramatic hospital bedside encounter when Bush aides tried to get ailing Attorney General John Ashcroft to sign off on the program’s renewal. But Ashcroft, and in Comey’s telling, Comey himself, stood firmly athwart the pressure and prevailed.

Mueller was a confidante of Comey during the initial incident, backing him up and reportedly offering to resign alongside him should the need arise. After Comey’s testimony in 2007, Mueller’s notes were subpoenaed by Congress as a way of verifying the account (which Bush and then-White House Counsel Alberto Gonzalez offer a differing version of).

"I hung up, called Director Mueller, with whom I'd been discussing this particular matter and had been a great help to me over that week -- and told him what was happening," Comey testified. "He said, 'I'll meet you at the hospital right now.'"

He later told senators of Mueller: “He’s one of the finest people I’ve ever met.”

According to a lengthy Washingtonian article published on the eve of Comey succeeding Mueller as FBI head, Mueller was the “one person in government in whom [Comey] could confide in and trust.”

Donald Trump Said Saudi Arabia Was Behind 9/11. Now He’s Going There on His First Foreign Trip.
Mehdi Hasan

There will be handshakes, hugs, and smiles galore. We will be expected to forget how Trump blasted the Saudi royals for being freeloaders and threatened them with an economic boycott. Speaking to the New York Times last year, Trump claimed that, without U.S. support and protection, “Saudi Arabia wouldn’t exist for very long.” The real problem, he continued, was that the Saudis are “a money machine and yet they don’t reimburse us the way we should be reimbursed.” Asked if he would be willing to “stop buying oil from the Saudis” if they refused to pull their weight, Trump responded: “Oh yeah, sure. I would do that.”

We will be also expected to ignore the fact that Trump slammed the Saudi government for executing homosexuals and treating women “horribly.” In the third presidential debate last October, Trump attacked Hillary Clinton for taking $25 million from the Saudis, from “people that push gays off … buildings. These are people that kill women and treat women horribly and yet you take their money.”
Perhaps above all else, we will be expected to brush under the carpet the fact that, twice in a single day, Trump accused Saudi Arabia of being behind the 9/11 attacks. “Who blew up the World Trade Center?” Trump asked his pals at Fox and Friends on the morning of February 17, 2016. “It wasn’t the Iraqis, it was Saudi — take a look at Saudi Arabia, open the documents.”

At a campaign event in South Carolina later that day, he again cited “secret papers” that could prove it was “the Saudis” who were in fact responsible for the attacks on 9/11. “It wasn’t the Iraqis that knocked down the World Trade Center … because they have papers in there that are very secret, you may find it’s the Saudis, OK?”

Today on Gallup, it's plus 38 minus 59. Unheard of for a President this early in an administration. Frump is in trouble.

consumer confidence at 16 year high.

illegal beaner border crossings down by 70%.

the only people who care about trump's approval ratings are people who don't matter - liberals.
