Historians Will Be Baffled by Our Times

Ezra Klein: “The world is currently on track for catastrophic levels of global warming. Destroying one of our last best chances to set a different path might prove Trump’s most consequential, and disastrous, legacy.”

“If it does, historians living in the altered climate of 2050 will look back on the 2016 campaign in horror. As they read the coverage, they will find a polity that knew of the danger and importance of climate change, but preferred to talk about Hillary Clinton’s emails instead. Indeed, as Media Matters documents, there was less coverage of climate change in the 2016 election than in the 2014, 2012, or 2010 elections… Meanwhile, networks’ flagship news shows devoted more coverage to Clinton’s emails than to every policy issue combined.”

“We often look back on past generations and wonder about their cruelty, their blithe dismissal of actions that seems to us, now, to be obviously moral, obviously right. But imagine how future generations will look back on us. We knew all we needed to know about how climate change would likely affect our descendants, and we decided to let it happen anyway.”

"We deem the momentum generated in Paris in December 2015 irreversible and we firmly believe that the Paris Agreement cannot be renegotiated since it is a vital instrument for our planet, societies and economies," the leaders of the three countries said in a rare joint statement.

Mr Trump commented that "if we can get a deal, that's great. If not, that's fine."

"We are convinced that the implementation of the Paris Agreement offers substantial economic opportunities for prosperity and growth in our countries and on a global scale," the three leaders said.

"We therefore reaffirm our strongest commitment to swiftly implement the Paris Agreement, including its climate finance goals and we encourage all our partners to speed up their action to combat climate change."

The joint statement is slightly unusual, but the EU forms a strong bloc under the Paris Agreement, with members often establishing continent-wide goals as well as national ones.

Sue Biniaz, former US State Department Deputy Legal Adviser on climate, told The Independent that she thinks the joint statement "is driven by the Paris Agreement's careful balancing and accommodation of interests, very much already including those of the US."

"There's no legal reason why it couldn't be amended, but I don't think it needs to be amended or "renegotiated" in order to address the concerns raised by the President," said Ms Biniaz.

"The US has the ability to change its own targets," Todd Stern, the Special Envoy on Climate Change during the Obama administration, told The Independent.

The carbon emissions targets and financial contributions to the various funds set up through the UN, the Green Climate Fund, and bilateral commitments can be changed based on each countries' prerogatives.

Mr Stern said it was "extremely hard to imagine any country wanting to renegotiate [the agreement] because they felt the US got a bum deal."

The other issue is figuring out "what the President even means by that," said Mr Stern.

Mr Trump did not go into specifically what points in the Paris accord he wants to amend that would require bringing countries back to the negotiating table after the more than 20 years of talks it took to get to the final text.

He has said that the deal would hit the US coal industry hard and that it would prove "too costly" for US to stick to the Paris accord to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. But Mr Trump ignores the fact that new money in renewable energy outpaced new investments in fossil fuels for the first time in 2015 to the tune of $350bn.

However, the numbers Mr Trump presented - notably losing 2.7 million jobs by 2025 - are inaccurate and do not take into account normal job rate loss and creation, jobs shifting towards more 'green' sectors, and the tangible benefits of cleaner air, water, and less risk of natural disasters along US coastlines.

Mr Trump also attacked developing countries, including in China and India who are top polluters but also leaders in solar energy, for relying on foreign aid in order to grow.
His comment that he wants "burdens...equally shared by countries all around the world" in a renegotiated deal shows a lack of understanding of the agreement, which was formulated in a way to account for the historical climate damage done by wealthy countries to poorer countries and provisions to help developing countries to grow their economies without over-reliance on the same fossil fuel method.

France, Italy, and Germany said they "will step up efforts to support developing countries, in particular the poorest and most vulnerable, in achieving their mitigation and adaptation goals."

"Hillary Clinton Slams New York Times, DNC, Comey for Loss

Hillary Clinton says she takes full responsibility for her decisions.

There’s just one catch: She says her decisions weren’t the reason that she lost to Donald Trump.

Perhaps Clinton’s most fresh and savage criticism on Wednesday was directed at the Democratic National Committee. She went as far as to say that when she became her party’s presidential nominee, she inherited “nothing” from the committee.

“I’m now the nominee of the Democratic Party. I inherit nothing from the Democratic Party,” Clinton said. “It was bankrupt, it was on the verge of insolvency, its data was mediocre to poor, non-existent, wrong. I had to inject money into it — the DNC — to keep it going.”

Thursday, a bizarre filing with the court occurred in the lawsuit involving the DNC, which Debbie Wasserman Schultz is a defendant in.

Wasserman Schultz reportedly called the attorneys and disguised her voice — but FORGOT TO HIDE HER PHONE NUMBER!

Right around 5:00 PM, attorney Elizabeth Beck’s office received a strange call from someone using a “robotic and genderless” voice changer and began snooping about the DNC lawsuit that was filed regarding 2016 election cheating. The suit is based on documents released by “Guccifer 2.0”, which alleges that the DNC colluded with then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign in an effort to “perpetrate a fraud on the public”, which you can read about here.

The robotic voice closed with “Okey, dokey” after talking with the law firm’s secretary. When the law firm decided to look at who called, the caller ID showed that the number was not blocked. When the firm then googled the number, Debbie Wasserman Schultz’ office came up

Wasserman Schultz BLAMES her Security Violations on Others for NOT STOPPING Her [VIDEO]

With Liberals, it's always someone else's fault.

Leftists never hold themselves accountable for their criminal behavior. They also demand that no one else does either.

Here's the latest case in point from disgraced former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Earlier this year, U.S. Capitol Police seized this Florida Democrat's office equipment as part of a criminal investigation into Congressional network security violations.

Now Wasserman Schultz admits that she regularly violates House IT security policy. But it's not her fault. And she can't comprehend why anyone would think that it was her responsibility to share her work-related documents with discretion.

She expertly cast blame for these long-standing IT violations on the House's chief administrative IT officer.

And you'll love her reasoning. The administrator didn't STOP her from breaking the law. So, it's his fault.

Apparently, if House IT officials don't tattoo the rules to their foreheads, then liberals aren't responsible for them.

What part of high government office confuses this liberal loon? Does someone really need to explain to this 20-year veteran of the House of Representatives that her work requires that she NOT broadcast government documents all over the internet?"

"Hypocrisy alert: Lebanon almost finished building a wall, with 4 watchtowers, around 100,000 Palestinians

You know how "human rights" groups and "pro-Palestinian" groups love to say that Israel puts Palestinians in Gaza as well as the West Bank in an "open-air prison"?

You know how the media will exhaustively cover any defensive measures Israel does to protect itself from terrorists that live among the Palestinians as "collective punishment"?

You know how Israel's security fence that has saved hundreds or thousands of lives is routinely denounced because it inconveniences some Arabs?

You know how Palestinian leaders will send official complaints to the UN for everything Israel does, or allegedly does, that has the slightest impact on the slightest number of Palestinian Arabs?

Finally, a final question: How much have you read or heard about a literal open-air prison, complete with watchtowers, being built around a Palestinian UNRWA camp in Lebanon that houses some 120,000 people?

From Daily Star Lebanon:
Construction of a controversial concrete wall barrier around the Ain al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp has resumed following a brief halt.

The past few weeks have seen a surge in concrete wall’s construction. A security source told The Daily Star that the wall is now “80 percent complete.”

Palestinian officials and popular committee members at the south Lebanon camp have reached tentative agreements following discussions with the army.

However, Palestinian refugees are dealing with various problems due to the wall’s construction. Omm Issam’s home had several of its rooms taken down due to its proximity to the wall.

A source told The Daily Star that the wall will run through “hundreds” of houses.

Abu Yassin, whose home and orange garden are dwarfed by the wall, mockingly says that the wall is now his neighbor.

In November 2016, it was announced that an agreement had been made between the Lebanese Army and the Palestinian factions to construct a wall and erect watchtowers around Ain al-Hilweh, and that the process was well underway.

The move was to maintain security in the camp, which has been rocked by clashes, most recently in April. The nearly six days of continuous clashes left at least 10 dead and over 50 wounded.

Despite an initial agreement between the Lebanese Army and Palestinian factions, opposition to the wall mounted during the construction process, forcing the army to temporarily halt construction.

“The Palestinian factions implicitly agree on it [despite vocal objection later on],” a source told The Daily Star in February.

The hypocrisy is stunning. Palestinian "leaders" agreed to build this prison, and the only ones who oppose it are the actual people affected, who have no voice. (Terror groups like Hamas and PFLP are the only organized groups that opposed the wall. Hezbollah supports it completely as a decision by the Lebanese government to "prevent terrorists from infiltrating the country."

Mahmoud Abbas visited Lebanon in February and did not say a word against this wall.

To be sure, Ain el Hilweh is a violent mess, and a terror group associated with Al Qaeda, Bilal al Badr, has infiltrated the camp and clashes regularly with Palestinian forces (Fatah, PFLP, DFLP) an the Lebanese Army. Tens of thousands of Syrian refugees of Palestinian descent have crammed into the already crowded camp because they cannot be treated like normal refugees thanks to the existence of UNRWA. Lebanon does not allow Palestinians to become citizens even after 70 years of them living in these wretched conditions and has specifically anti-Palestinian laws on the books.

But the silence from NGOs, the UN, Palestinian leaders and world media over what can literally be called a prison, with concrete walls and watchtowers, being built by the Lebanese government, shows how sickeningly hypocritical the entire world is.

No one gives a damn about Palestinians unless Jews can be blamed.

Obama had no authority to bind America to an enduring international accord

Consider it a campaign promise rightly kept. Trump this afternoon announced his intention to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate-change accords, and if he holds to his decision, he’ll do the American people a great service. Simply put, before any president attempts to bind the United States to an enduring multinational accordit’s his duty to convince the American people — through constitutional processes — that the agreement is in the best interests of the United States. Barack Obama failed to do this in 2015. Trump is right to reject his actions today.

First, let’s dispense with any notion that climate change is too important to be left to constitutional treaty-making process. If the consequences of climate change will be as catastrophic as alarmists fear, then the constitutional process becomes more important, not less. The constitutional process creates binding obligations that are based in broad consensus. If two-thirds of senators vote to ratify a treaty, then that effectively means that a supermajority of the American people either agree or acquiesce to the nation’s commitment. It provides the basis for national action in response.

It’s important to note that effective treaties bind not just the United States but all the signatories. Nonbinding pacts like the Paris Agreement, by contrast, are easily fractured and easily exploited. By definition, violating “voluntary” arrangements doesn’t breach international law, and the result is an international arrangement that will exist precisely as long as any country believes it remains in their best interests — and no longer. It’s inherently unstable.

Moreover, there’s an important cultural value in following the Constitution. The treaty process places the burden of persuasion on American politicians. It’s one thing to name-call and jeer at “climate deniers” when you can impose your will through a mere 51 percent of the Electoral College. It’s another thing entirely to try to build a two-thirds consensus, a consensus that would necessarily have to unite large sectors of red and blue. The process of persuasion can have a positive effect on political discourse, requiring politicians to address voters concerns not merely dismiss dissenters as rubes and know-nothings.

Contrast the Paris accords with a true international treaty — like the North Atlantic alliance. For more than three generations, the U.S. has committed blood and treasure to its European allies, acting under full constitutional authority while receiving the binding reciprocal commitment of its partners to commit their own blood and treasure to the United States. Indeed they’ve done so in Afghanistan and continue to fight with us today. That’s how you build an “international community,” not through executive agreements that can be unmade just as easily as they’re made.
American presidents have gotten into the disturbing habit of discarding constitutional process when they find it inconvenient. Barack Obama did it when he agreed to the Paris accords, when he negotiated the Iran nuclear deal, and when he launched a war against Libya without congressional approval. Trump did the same earlier this year when he launched a new military action against the Syrian regime, also without congressional approval. But just as presidents must be challenged when they violate the Constitution, they should be applauded when they respect its "

Obama criticized Trump’s decision as “an absence of American leadership” that moved the United States backward.

“Even as this Administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future; I’m confident that our states, cities, and businesses will step up and do even more to lead the way, and help protect for future generations the one planet we’ve got,” he wrote in a statement.

Despite his assertion that he wanted to remain silent after leaving office, Obama has broken that promise on multiple occasions to criticize President Trump."

Thirty states and scores of companies said Thursday that they would press ahead with their climate policies and pursue lower greenhouse gas emissions, breaking sharply with President Trump’s decision to exit the historic Paris climate accord.

In a pointed rebuttal to Trump’s announcement in the rose garden of the White House, New York’s governor Andrew M. Cuomo unveiled a plan to invest $1.65 billion in renewable energy and energy efficiency on Thursday, the largest ever procurement of renewable energy by an American state.

Meanwhile, more than two dozen big companies — including Apple, Morgan Stanley, and Royal Dutch Shell — urged Trump not to exit the Paris agreement on Thursday.

Trump Hands China a Chance for Global Leadership

New York Times: “In pulling out of the Paris climate accord, Mr. Trump has created a vacuum of global leadership that presents ripe opportunities to allies and adversaries alike to reorder the world’s power structure. His decision is perhaps the greatest strategic gift to the Chinese, who are eager to fill the void that Washington is leaving around the world on everything from setting the rules of trade and environmental standards to financing the infrastructure projects that give Beijing vast influence.

“Mr. Trump’s remarks in the Rose Garden on Thursday were also a retreat from leadership on the one issue, climate change, that unified America’s European allies, its rising superpower competitor in the Pacific, and even some of its adversaries, including Iran.”

Foreign Policy: In dumping the Paris accord, Trump cedes the energy future to China.

BREAKING: Dow Jones Sets ALL TIME RECORD HIGH After Trump WITHDRAWS From Paris Climate Accord

Ever since Donald Trump was put into office, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, a metric used to determine the overall health of our economy, has been setting more and more highs.

It broke through the 19,000 mark after Trump was elected, setting a record. Then through the 20,000 mark shortly after Donald Trump was inaugurated. Now, it's blasted past 21,000 all the way up to 21,144 in reaction to Trump's withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord.

"The Paris climate agreement was deeply flawed from its start. It was legally and constitutionally suspect, based on politics rather than science, and contained unrealistic goals."
"It promised not only a dramatic expansion of the administrative state and a huge increase in the regulatory burden on American businesses, it threatened to put the brakes on U.S. economic output at a time when most economists think the U.S. will struggle to achieve even a meager two percent growth."
"It’s likely that it was already acting as a drag on the U.S. economy. After President Barack Obama unofficially committed the U.S. to the Paris agreement, businesses began preparing for its impact."
"Knowing that it would diminish U.S. economic output, businesses invested less and directed more investment toward less-productive technology to meet the climate deal’s mandates. Banks and financiers withdrew capital from sectors expected to suffer under the climate deal and pushed it toward those expected to benefit. A classic example of regulation-driven malinvestment."

"Australian Pedophiles To Be Denied Passports

Australia is presenting new legislation to halt child sex tourism abroad.
According to the NGO EPCAT, which is crusading against child sex tourism, there are approximately 24 countries where pedophilic tourism is commonplace, with the highest concentrations located in South America and Southeast Asia.
Southeast Asia in particular is a low-cost travel destination for Australian pedophiles to exploit young children, but new legislation is being presented to halt the number of assault cases in these countries.
The bill would specifically target people on the national child offender registry by prohibiting them from traveling “to vulnerable countries where they are out of sight and reach of Australian law,” according to a statement by the Australian government.
Justice Minister Michael Keenan said, “This is the strongest crackdown on child sex tourism ever. No country has ever taken such decisive and strong action to stop its citizens from going overseas, often to vulnerable countries, to abuse kids.”
The push for this comes after several high profile cases of child exploitation overseas, including the story of Australian Robert Ellis, who faced conviction for the abuse of 11 Indonesian girls while on the island of Bali.
Other contributing factors include the number of registered Australians who traveled overseas which stood at about 800 in 2016, a third of which traveled without the permission of authorities. With the new legislation government officials believe that old loopholes will be addressed and these numbers will drop significantly.
When asked about specifics, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said registered offenders with lifetime reporting requirements would be denied passports for life. This part of the bill would impact around 3,200 offenders. She also discussed temporary travel documents for offenders with limited reporting obligations, who needed to apply for travel for legitimate reasons.

Bishop told news outlets “Australia is leading the way when it comes to protecting vulnerable children overseas.”
Members of the government, like Senator Derryn Hinch, expressed their fondness for these new measures. Hinch, a longtime campaigner for this kind of legislation, said he was “over the moon” and defended the move, saying, "People say what about their civil rights? Well when you rape a child, you lose some of your civil rights, from my point of view."
UNICEF calculates that roughly 2 million children worldwide are the victims of sexual exploitation every year and the child sex trade industry amounts to around $20 billion annually.
As this legislation is reviewed many countries affected by the child sex industry can breathe a bit easier knowing that Australia is taking a hardline stance against the vile cases of pedophilia that have plagued them for so many years. The success of Australia's new laws may lead the start of a new wave of legislation to target and eliminate child exploitation in underdeveloped countries. Australians and people all over the world have their fingers crossed that this will make a significant difference in protecting the rights and bodies of children living in these vulnerable parts of the world."

Looks like Australia has your number.

Full Transcript: John Kerry on Trump's climate agreement decision

Then-Secretary of State John Kerry -- with his granddaughter on his lap -- signed the Paris climate agreement last year. After President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the U.S. will withdraw from the agreement, Kerry took to Facebook to criticize the decision.

He accused Mr. Trump of "unilaterally walking backwards from science and backwards from leadership on behalf of polluters and fringe ideologues," and said it "may be the most self-defeating action in American history."

Kerry spoke with CBS News' Anthony Mason on June 1, 2017, on "CBS Evening News." What follows is a full transcript of the interview.

ANTHONY MASON: Mr. Secretary, you call this an unprecedented forfeiture of American leadership. What do you mean?

SEC. JOHN KERRY: Well when 195 countries come together working for decades and the United States of America takes the leadership in order to join with China, the two largest emitters in the world, of carbon emissions, to say we must begin to reduce, and then to have a president stand up and simply unilaterally walk away from that, without scientific basis, not based on facts in terms of our economy. The truth is the president... no country is required by this agreement to do anything except what that country decided to do for itself. So Donald Trump is not telling the truth to the American people when he says 'we have this huge burden that's been imposed on us by other nations,' no. We agreed to what we would do. We designed it. It's voluntary and the president of the Unites States could simply have changed that without walking away from the whole agreement

MASON: The president portrayed it in economic terms and said it gave other nations a financial advantage.

KERRY: No. That's just not true. The fastest growing job in America, the biggest single job is wind turbine technician. 2.6 million clean energy jobs have been created in America and guess what, half of them, 50 percent, are in states that Donald Trump won. He's going to hurt those people. He's going to hurt those states. America is going to lose economic leadership in this

MASON: So do you think we have something to lose if we back out?
KERRY: We have indeed. Do you think American businesses will flourish when they knock on the door of a country and say well we want to give you solar tech... they're going to say w'ell you guys just walked away from the deal. You guys aren't committed to this.' That's why major companies, among them, Exxon Mobile, major Fortune 500 companies, all supported staying in the Paris agreement. Because they know what this means in terms of their job base, their growth and the economy.

MASON: The president said he was elected by the people of Pittsburgh, not the people of Paris.

Kerry: Well indeed absolutely true but there's nothing in… what America has agreed to do in this that Paris dictated. There's nothing in what America agreed to do in this agreement that came from France or came from Britain or any other country. We are doing what America decided we could do and should do that was appropriate.

MASON: He said he would honor the timetable for withdrawal which would in effect take past the next election.

KERRY: Well he said as of today he will stop the implementation. So it depends on what Scott Pruitt and the EPA and others continue to do. Tell me, where is the constituency in America to put coal sludge back into rivers and lakes? But that's what he's done. He's signed the executive order to do that. Where is the constituency to reduce the ability of cars to maintain lower automobile emissions? Why would you want to get rid of that? What Donald Trump is doing is serving the polluters and serving a narrow group of ideological interests. That's not leadership. That's abdication of responsibility, and this step does not make America first. It makes America last.

Seems the jumping for joy may have to wait a while as reality checks set in. BWAAAAAAA!!!!!

President Trump’s speech was confused nonsense,” said Bob Ward, policy and communications director at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the London School of Economics and Political Science, in a statement. “He announced that the United States will withdraw from the Paris Agreement on climate change, while also launching negotiations to re-enter the Agreement. But the Agreement states that no country can withdraw within three years of it coming into force, and the process of withdrawal takes a further year to complete. That means the United States cannot complete withdrawal from the Paris Agreement before 5 November 2020, the day after the next Presidential election in the United States. So Mr. Trump will not have withdrawn from the Agreement within this Presidential term.”

From my link above. With the way things are going... I doubt trump will be around to reap the fruits of his own stupidity.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks bigotry, said it has seen an increase in hate incidents in the U.S. since the election of President Donald Trump. Between Election Day and Feb. 1, the SPLC said, it collected information on about 1,800 hate-related episodes from almost every state.
"In the past, it would be a couple hundred at most, and that would be high," said Heidi Beirich, director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Loops of rope have long been used to intimidate African-Americans because they evoke lynchings. The nonprofit Equal Justice Initiative said there were 4,075 lynchings of blacks in the South to spread racial terror between 1877 and 1950.

For blacks, the noose is "comparable in the emotions that it evokes to that of the swastika for Jews," the Anti-Defamation League said.

"I’ve seen in the last couple of months more instances of nooses being used to intimidate people," said Shuler, author of "The Thirteenth Turn: A History of the Noose." "I think we’re in a situation right now where people who express hateful opinions are being allowed to speak freely and it’s become OK again."

Beirich blames the rhetoric from Trump’s presidential campaign, during which he pledged to build a wall on the Mexican border and ban Muslim immigrants. Trump also claimed for a long time that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States.

"Putting those sentiments in public from a presidential campaign has sanctioned a lot of people," Beirich said. "Things they might have kept inside themselves, that they have kept quiet about, have burst out."

The noose didn’t stop some visitors to the black history museum.
Stephen Middleton, who brought his extended family to the museum Thursday from Georgia and Maryland, said he wasn’t surprised someone targeted the museum. But "we’re not going to be deterred, we’re not going to be wavered and not going to be intimidated," he said.

A Middle Finger to the World

Michael Grunwald: “Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement was not really about the climate. And despite his overheated rhetoric about the ‘tremendous’ and ‘draconian’ burdens the deal would impose on the U.S. economy, Trump’s decision wasn’t really about that, either. America’s commitments under the Paris deal, like those of the other 194 cooperating nations, were voluntary. So those burdens were imaginary.

“No, Trump’s abrupt withdrawal from this carefully crafted multilateral compromise was a diplomatic and political slap: it was about extending a middle finger to the world, while reminding his base that he shares its resentments of fancy-pants elites and smarty-pants scientists and tree-hugging squishes who look down on real Americans who drill for oil and dig for coal. He was thrusting the United States into the role of global renegade, rejecting not only the scientific consensus about climate but the international consensus for action, joining only Syria and Nicaragua (which wanted an even greener deal) in refusing to help the community of nations address a planetary problem.”

“Congress doesn’t seem willing to pay for Trump’s border wall—and Mexico certainly isn’t—so rejecting the Paris deal was an easier way to express his Fortress America themes without having to pass legislation.”

Extending a middle finger might make sense if it weren't so STUPID a middle finger.

Desperate Obama Is Now Just Getting Downright Weird

We just checked the U.S. Constitution and, we were right: There's only one president at a time.

But Barack Obama, who moved out of the White House on Jan. 20 and, we all hoped, into obscurity, is trying to be the shadow president, refusing to duck out of the spotlight as he tries to discredit President Trump at every turn.

On Thursday, when Trump pulled the United States out of the Paris Climate Accord -- one of Obama's signature policies -- the former president went bat crazy.

Speaking as a private American citizen, Obama said: “The nations that remain in the Paris Agreement will be the nations that reap the benefits in jobs and industries created. But even in the absence of American leadership; even as this Administration joins a small handful of nations that reject the future; I’m confident that our states, cities, and businesses will step up and do even more to lead the way …”

File under: Ghetto President

Question, is Trump trying to leverage US cooperation in climate change to blackmail the world into economic concessions, or is he ignorant of the science and believes that nothing we do can make any difference?

Is there anything specific to indicate the former, beyond some bloviating generalities? I've heard those; but has Trump proposed anything specific, any specific demands linked to climate change cooperation?

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Trump could have pulled back on some of the things we agreed on in the treaty without pulling us out of the Treaty.

The European nations who are part of the agreement and the nearly 200 nations co signators do not in the least trust Trump to be honest about what he wants to accomplish. He is pursuing purely political goals.

He knows better, but he is not in the least interested in statesmanship, only in playing domestic politics. It will bite him in the ass, but the sad thing is, it is hurting and will hurt all of us.
