I'd like to feel sorry for Kathy Griffin...

Kathy Griffin represents all that is typical for me with many of our entertainment celebrities (regardless of which "list" they are on). I always found her self-deprecating humor to be fairly entertaining and I generally enjoyed her roles in whatever she was doing.

It was only after once hearing her go off on a political "I am the victim of misogyny" rant that I because less enthralled with her. Quite obviously the bloody Trump head deal didn't help matters either. But to me, watching her Press Conference put the last nail in the coffin for me.

The problem (pointed out by Scott Adams) is that this sort of thing truly exposes the fact that our country lives in two different realities. In the reality that many of your liberal coastal elitist live in, mocking, showing anger, and insulting the President of the United States is perfectly acceptable behavior. In fact, it's somehow considered to be almost noble. After all he is worse than Hitler. Intentionally looking to destroy the country. Probably tortures small animals in his spare time.

With an attitude like that...  It was only a matter of time before someone took this "too far".

My gut call on this one, was that it was sort of an eye-opener for many of your "moderate" liberals who don't mind a little Trump bashing, but had to wonder if the bloody Trump head was a representation of what they had become. Almost like she forced liberals to look in the mirror and ask themselves how far am I willing to go. The answer, of course... is not quite this far.

For those who do not live in the liberal coastal elitist world, where the President of the United states is actually not a white supremacist who routinely rapes underage girls as a matter of sport... the Kathy Griffin moment was only one example of the same type of behavior that has driven a bigger wedge between people. It was just a matter or relativity, not just one incident that you can simply compartmentalize out and say this is bad, but everything else is okay. For many, the feeling is that Kathy Griffin did what many other liberals probably wanted to do (and perhaps even silently applauded).

But going back to the press conference. What shook me was how unexpected the reaction was to Griffin. It was if she really didn't understand that not everyone believes that beheading the President of the United States is funny stuff. Like many other liberal coastal elitists, she simply didn't understand that there is still large audience that supports the President, and even a larger audience who may disagree with him on may issues, but believes he garners the respect of the office.

Moreover, she now sees herself as the victim. She literally argued that the powerful Trump family is now out to get her and that it's their fault that her upcoming events are cancelling and that her career may have come to a screeching halt. She made the inference that the Trump family was "using" Baron as a pawn to drive emotional backlash (she doesn't believe the story that he was upset by it).

She also argued (as has become typical with her) that this reaction was all about the fact that she was a woman. She offered that if a man had held up a bloody Trump head, we wouldn't be getting this reaction. Um... yeah, Kathy. I am afraid we would.

This sort of reminds me of the Michael Richards situation where he blurted out a bunch of racist statements back in 2006 during a stand up routine, and subsequently killed his career for several years. You want to believe that after a long and full career, that people don't judge you on the one thing. But unfortunately that's how things go. We often times don't get a do-over and there are consequences for most negative behavior.

So I'd like to think that eventually Griffin will get a second chance. But I also believe that it will take more than holding a press conference where you end up blaming Trump and misogyny for the reaction.

I'd also like to think that this could be a turning point in our country. Where Griffin finally pushed things over the edge so far that there is no half assed way to come back from it. I'd like to think that many this could lead to the collective maturing of our liberal elitists, and perhaps we could get back to showing the sort of decorum and respect that our Presidency and our Country deserves.

It’s a question a lot of comedians are asking themselves lately: What should comedy look like during the Trump presidency? “Now more than ever we must absolutely go for all the absurdities,” Kathy Griffin told Vulture at the Equality Now Gala Tuesday night. “For me, that’s Trump and all things Trump. It’s not about trying to be an equal-opportunity offender anymore because Hillary got such a beat down. It’s his turn. So I’m happy to deliver beat down to Donald Trump — and also to Barron. You know a lot of comics are going to go hard for Donald, my edge is that I’ll go direct for Barron. I’m going to get in ahead of the game.”

So, of course, Griffin supported Rosie O’Donnell when she tweeted a video asking if Barron Trump, 10-year-old son of Donald and Melania, was on the autism spectrum. “After the beat down he gave her, she can say whatever she wants to say to that piece of shit,” Griffin said before correcting herself. “Oh, that’s President Piece of Shit.”

WHEREAS the blogger “Republican Rat Bastard” (rrb) frequently refers to me as a "pederast" and

WHEREAS the blogger "Loretta" [previously known as “Savagette”] frequently refers to me as a "pedophile" or “pedo” and

WHEREAS as a minister of the gospel I am required to undergo frequent background checks which would reveal any instances of pederasty or pedophilia or other such perversions on my record and

WHEREAS no such instances exist, nor any arrest or criminal records of any kind and

WHEREAS all such background checks list me as "Clean" in every respect and

WHEREAS all the above can be verified by the Regional Office of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Illinois and Wisconsin and

WHEREAS you as the administrator of this blog continually allow the two said bloggers to slander and libel me in this way, with no restraint exercised by you at all, and

WHEREAS although I am not aware that these ridiculous calumnies have ever caused me harm in the past, there could conceivably come a time when such slander and such libel might cause me professional harm in the future, and

WHEREAS this could result in action holding you legally and financially responsible for knowingly allowing such potentially harmful and unfounded slander and libel to exist unrestrained on your blog,

THEREFORE I herewith demand that you require them to CEASE AND DESIST from all such slander and libel immediately.

What Griffin did, and her reaction to the aftermath, I honestly see as indicators of mental illness, not representative of coastal elite Democrats or any other political division.

I suspect that you have high hopes of Handle exploiting the imagery to win in the special election in Georgia. It might happen, and I give Ossoff 50-50 at best. I'm going to vote for him, but I don't think he'll be effective and that makes me uneasy. One visceral ad could plow him under.

Hey James, I'm not a lawyer and I have no comment or position on either side of your fight, but I have one or two pieces of technical advice.

It looks like you're posting a demand letter. Dramatic and public is good, but you should realize that to have any legal significance you need a provable identification. Signed and notarized, physical letter or at least posted pdf. A technically anonymous blog posting can just be ignored. It could be one of your detractors, or any other impersonator for instance.

Secondly the blog administrator is likely protected by the DMCA, and you should probably research that or consult a real lawyer. Your posted demand letter may lead one to suspect that you've done neither, and hence might be again, simply ignored.

Just my two cents.

So she is in a secure government facility, contracting for an agency which is probably the NSA, and emails a news website owned by an Iranian national about classified information. I find it rather strange, however, that Chtruth should say,

'But there are no actual "blog posts" written about you, James. So unless you find content in the actual "posts" about you, written by the blogger author (me) you are probably out of luck.'

I am under the impression that everything that appears here is a "blog post" posted by someone of the bloggers. For me to be called a pederast, a pedophile or pedo, does seem to be something "written about" me. And allowed by the blog administrator here without restraint.

But as Chtruth suggested, I shall forward this and all the above to blogger.com by private email. I am hoping, however, that they will answer openly and publicly on this blog.

By the way, I am not angry, just happy to raise the issue in this way. :-)

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Ch, in the two attempts I just made, I find that I will of course need a better address to email to than "Blogger.com."

Please give me the correct full address.

C.H. Truth said...

I am under the impression that everything that appears here is a "blog post" posted by someone of the bloggers.

James... when you set up a blogger account, a create a blog, you have to have a verifiable email address, and provide other information. Only specific people are allowed to create a blog post (those are controlled by whoever created the blog).

Only those who are actually creating a blog post are considered "authors" under the rules and regulations of Blogger.

____

Another way to look at this, James... is that I have other blogger blogs that do not even use blogger comments. They are using discus (sort of testing the use).

In that case, anyone who enters a comment about the post in question, would be entering them on a completely different software that is simply embedded into the code.

In that case, would you want to complain to "Blogger" or "Discus" - about the comments?
_____

But I will repeat what I stated earlier. There is nothing that I can find anywhere within blogger that suggests that they monitor the blogger "comments". All of the forums for offering complaints require you to provide the blog, the blog post, and the author of the blog post.

Since I am the only author of this blog, and all blog posts are mine... you would be attempting to complain specifically about me... and would need to show which post there was damaging information regarding you.

C.H. Truth said...

But here is what I find amusing James...

I have asked people to stop calling other people names.
I have asked people to stop C&P from other articles.
I have asked people to try to discuss the topic at hand.

You are upset that others do not comply?
But yet you also refuse to comply?

Perhaps if "YOU" (as well as Roger and Opie) were willing to comply to the rules that have been repeatedly offered by me, then others would't be compelled to write things like "more spam from the such and such"

Which of course, is really you not following two rules of decorum that I have offered for sake of reasonable comment threads.

At the end of the day, I can choose to go back to monitoring all comments (which nobody liked) - just removing comments (which defeats the purpose) - or leaving it as it is (which is the most reasonable).

Lastly - you have only youself to blame for identifying your actual name, occupation, place of residence, etc... and even connecting through FB with other people who frequent this site. Once something is posted on Facebook, it becomes public domain for the most part. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out.

So I strongly suggest that you either think about whether or not you want to follow the rules of decorum here, or whether you think you are somehow special and only the rules that effect "you" negatively should be followed.

Either way... I promise you that blogger is not going to go through hundreds of comment threads and remove individual comments. So your intention would be to try to shut down the entire blog because "you want everyone else to follow your rules, but don't want to follow mine".

james said...

Chtruth, you can try to obfuscate all you want, yet you have only yourself to blame for the fact that you have not more frequently called for greater civility and no name calling or personal attacking on this blog. The few times you have done it, it has had temporary results, but you did not keep it up. That is because you have played the same unprincipled game that has gotten the GOP in so much trouble -- do nothing to offend the far right, nationalististic, Nazi-like, KKK supporting fringe extremes that gravitate toward your side. And so you end up with Tea Partyism and Joe the Plumberism and now Trumpism.

I may feel that I should be able to put in for the most part short articles from politicalwire.com, sometimes more, sometimes less on topic, but I do not engage in name calling and unfounded attempts at character assassination that you find it easy to sit back and allow without restraint. You are part of the questionable agenda that has brought the GOP to the place where it now is.

Commonsense said...

James, just leave. You'll be happier and so will everybody else.

C.H. Truth said...

James - so you are calling me a Nazi KKK supporting nationalist, huh?

I think that is an example of character assassination... I doubt you could find anywhere where I have supported the KKK or said good things about Nazis.

What I can find, however, is multiple examples of you deciding which rules are okay to follow and which rules are okay to ignore. While "YOU" may believe spamming the threads with crap from other bloggers... I get far more complaints about unwanted spam than I do about name calling.

Or... just in this case... you simply believe it's okay to call people Nazis, associate people with the KKK? What's the excuse? You think it's justified? Perhaps people on this blog believe that the things they call you are also justified?

Furthermore, I have a job, two boys (one in Minnesota Hockey -he has three hours tonight off season), a wife, friends, a band that I play in.

I don't have the time to watch this blog 24/7 and make sure everyone is following rules.

To be honest... I gave up on the rules more because you, roger, and opie refused to follow them... thinking you are above following rules, unless they are rules you agree with.

The reality James... I never read your spam. I don't click on the links. I am not interested. I have my own daily reads, and they do not include what it is that you want to push on people.

NO, not at all. I am saying that you long tolerated people calling me a pederast or pedophile though you know good and well I am not -- and you did that in much the same way that the GOP tolerated things that were going on in the Tea Party that were despicable, because --- why alienate the right wing extremists who would vote Republican anyway?

And, as I predicted all along, it would come back to bite you, and it has.

And Ch, I have noticed that there are times when you DO answer my blogs.

James craves attention. Probably shouldn't give it to him.

Commonsense said...

And James you brought those pederast characterizations on yourself when you made those soft-porn comments about Malia Obama.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

And that, of course, is the usual Commonsense BS.

And by the way, highly intelligent CS, a pederast is attracted to little boys, not to little girls.

He's a whining, sniveling ass.

Calling CH a Nazi KKK supporting nationalist is another eye-opener.

I just found blogger.com (google) where they describe activities that are not allowed -- bullying, abuse, etc. (I suppose slander, libel, and calumny would be included there.) Included also is publishing personal information or photographs of a person without their consent.

Recently Loretta Russo (false identity) put up a picture of my lovely, wonderful wife for no reason other than hate and spite. I asked Ch to have her take it down and delete it. She stopped posting it, but it was not deleted. (It can still be seen at "a picture is worth a thousnd words").

So much for Ch's and her respect for the rules of blogging.

She and Ch may be getting into legal territory they could come to regret.

Speaking of respect and decorum, perhaps you should pay attention to the following:

AN OFFICIAL MESSAGE TO “CHTRUTH,” the administrator of this blog:

WHEREAS I have in the past been identified by name, address, and occupation on this blog, and

Sincerely,
Rev. James Boswell, a minister of the gospel in good standing with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), posted June 5, 2017, 8:26AM.

Speaking of losers, Ossoff didn't have a good night.

He should have had an answer to the question "Who will he vote for in the election."

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

LOL
No, I want the blog to go on. I want people to see what takes place here.

And we may yet see who's weird and who's the loser.

Cali is the weird son of a now deceased good man pastor about whom he said unconscionable things.

Oh, and Ch, now that I remember it: You once posted my picture without my permission. Why did you do that?

That never happened either.

Oh yes it did. You may not remember it, but Ch does.

And I suppose my wife's picture was not posted either.... Oh, but wait. It's still there.

Paranoia? If I were worried, I would just duck for cover and say nothing.
Instead, I love exposing you and your kind for what you are.
You make it easy.

CH speaking to James Boswell...

"What I can find, however, is multiple examples of you deciding which rules are okay to follow and which rules are okay to ignore. While "YOU" may believe spamming the threads with crap from other bloggers... I get far more complaints about unwanted spam than I do about name calling."

Loretta said...

I've stopped, Rat has stopped, but as you can see......James is going to do what James WANTS to do.

He's paranoid, is trying once again to get the blog shut down.

This isn't the first time, he continually tries to get the ACLU to act against CH.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

If I wanted to get the blog shut down, I would have published my full identity and then waited for a few more instances of being called a pederast or pedophile before I issued my warning to Chtruth.

Furthermore, my "WHEREAS"es are addressed to everyone, though you are welcome if you wish to submit them to the ACLU for their comment, opinion, or advice.
