Reality

When Charles Murray was supposed to give a speech at Middlebury College, dozens of student rioters marched, threw bricks at cars, literally chased Murray and others associated with the speech, and ultimately assaulted a faculty member to the point of hospitalization.

Berkeley riots provides mindset

The students in question were given a letter of condemnation to be placed in their school file, which the school administrators agreed to remove if they were not involved in any other incidences.

There was a time when harassment, destruction of property, and assault were criminal matters. In 2017 those actions are deemed to be protected free speech by many on the left.  They are even seen as acts of valor by many.

You cannot pretend that there is no correlation between a systematic applauding of these sorts of actions across the country (in the name of the "resistance") and the escalation of said violence in the name of politics. What constitutes taking this sort of resistance "too far" should not even be a question that has multiple opinions. Common decency in following the laws of society should be the line we all draw (regardless of political affiliation). It shouldn't take a mass shooting.

Two woman that are trying really hard to destroy the USA as we know it, both are biter old woman and really hard to look at.

#RestistanceMother = Hillary Clinton , we now know where the $100's of millions that was left over at the Clinton Family Foundation is going.

Madam Yellen, who since the Election of President Trump has decided that the US Economy needs for her to slam on the brakes, put sugar in the gas tank and slow the economy with more rate hikes, and she is not done yet.

She is also going to reduce the $4 Trillion dollars in held debt at the Nut-n-pea hiding place called the federal reserve, this dumping will again be to the detriment of the US Economy.

Among the electorate, the most fervid Hillary acolytes (especially young and middle-aged women and assorted show biz celebs) seemed obtusely indifferent to her tepid performance as Secretary of State, during which she doggedly piled up air miles while accomplishing virtually nothing except the destabilization of North Africa.

Had Hillary won, everyone would have expected disappointed Trump voters to show a modicum of respect for the electoral results as well as for the historic ceremony of the inauguration, during which former combatants momentarily unite to pay homage to the peaceful transition of power in our democracy. But that was not the reaction of a vast cadre of Democrats shocked by Trump's win. In an abject failure of leadership that may be one of the most disgraceful episodes in the history of the modern Democratic party, Chuck Schumer, who had risen to become the Senate Democratic leader after the retirement of Harry Reid, asserted absolutely no moral authority as the party spun out of control in a nationwide orgy of rage and spite. Nor were there statesmanlike words of caution and restraint from two seasoned politicians whom I have admired for decades and believe should have run for president long ago—Senator Dianne Feinstein and Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. How do Democrats imagine they can ever expand their electoral support if they go on and on in this self-destructive way, impugning half the nation as vile racists and homophobes?

All of which brings us to the issue of Trump's performance to date. The initial conundrum was: could he shift from being the slashing, caustic ex-reality show star of the campaign to a more measured, presidential persona? Perhaps to the dismay of his diehard critics, Trump did indeed make that transition at the Capitol on inauguration morning, when he appeared grave and focused, palpably conveying a sense of the awesome burdens of the highest office. As for his particular actions as president, I am no fan of executive orders, which usurp congressional prerogatives and which I was already denouncing when Obama was constantly signing them (with very little protest, one might add, from the mainstream media).

Remember when it was frightening for the losing party not to accept the results of an election? During the third debate, Trump refused to pre-emptively agree to the election results, saying he'd "look at it at the time."

The media responded in their usual laid-back style:

A 'HORRIFYING' REPUDIATION OF DEMOCRACY -- The Washington Post, Oct. 20, 2016

DENIAL OF DEMOCRACY -- Daily News (New York), Oct. 20, 2016 DANGER TO DEMOCRACY -- The Dallas Morning News, Oct. 20, 2016

ONE SCARY MOMENT; IT ALL BOILED DOWN TO ... DEMOCRACY -- Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Oct. 21, 2016

"(Shock) spiked down the nation's spinal column last night and today when the Republican nominee threatened that this little election thing you got there, this little democratic process you've got here, it's nice, it's fine, but he doesn't necessarily plan on abiding by its decision when it comes to the presidency." -- Rachel Maddow, Oct. 20, 2016

"Trump's answer on accepting the outcome of the vote is the most disgraceful statement by a presidential candidate in 160 years." -- Bret Stephens, then-deputy editorial page editor at The Wall Street Journal

"I guess we're all going to have to wait until Nov. 9 to find out if we still have a country -- if Donald Trump is in the mood for a peaceful transfer of power. Or if he's going to wipe his fat a-- with the Constitution." -- CBS's Stephen Colbert, Oct. 19, 2016

"It's unprecedented for a nominee of a major party to themselves signal that they would not accept -- you know, respect the results of an election. We've never had that happen before. ... This really presents a potentially difficult problem for governing ..." -- MSNBC'S Joy Reid, Oct. 22, 2016

"This is very dangerous stuff ... would seriously impair our functioning as a democracy. ... This is about as serious as it gets in the United States." -- CNN's Peter Beinart, Oct. 20, 2016

"Obviously, it's despicable for him to pretend that there's any chance that he would not accept the results of this election; it would be -- in 240 years you've never had anybody do it. ..." -- CNN's Van Jones, Oct. 20, 2016

Then Trump won, and these very same hysterics refused to accept the results of the election.

democrat politicians, the media, and entertainment personalities are surrounded by armed guards, reside in secure luxury high rise apartments or gated communities. these are people who never have to suffer the consequence of words or deeds, and after the obligatory kumbaya grace period will be back with their full-throated, hate filled vitriol aimed at trump and us on the right.

at the very least what i would expect them to do at this point - but they won't - is to examine the potential end result of their actions. some have observed that alexandria was the first shots of a second civil war. that may well turn out to be true. it doesn't have to be but as always, liberals just can't help themselves.

What Trump is doing doesn't amount to a hill of beans. The really important things will stay in place. The only thing that will be most affected will be the complete freedom of American citizens to visit Cuba without impediments, and that will decrease the tremendous numbers of people who have been going, and that will hurt a lot of the ordinary people of Cuba who have been benefiting financially from American tourism.

It will serve to strengthen, rather than lessen, Raoul's control.

Following Comey's blockbuster appearance before Congress, an Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll shows 68 percent of Americans are at least moderately concerned about the possibility that Trump or his campaign associates had inappropriate ties to Russia. Almost half of Americans say they're very concerned. Only 3 in 10 say they're not that concerned.

Americans largely view the issue along partisan lines. Sixty-two percent of Republicans say they're not very concerned or not at all concerned about any Russia ties. Though just over half of Americans say they disapprove of Trump's firing of Comey, the number grows to 79 percent among Democrats. Overall, only 22 percent of Americans support Comey's dismissal.

It’s common knowledge that the coast of Louisiana is quietly sinking into the balmy Gulf waters. But new research suggests we may have been underestimating how quickly it’s happening.

A new paper, published Wednesday in the Geological Society of America’s bulletin GSA Today, includes an updated map of the Louisiana coastline and the rate at which it’s sinking into the sea, a process scientists call “subsidence,” which occurs in addition to the climate change-caused process of sea-level rise. The new map suggests that, on average, the Louisiana coast is sinking at a rate of about 9 millimeters, or just over a third of an inch, per year — a faster rate than previous studies have suggested, according to the authors.

“I think it’s a point worth making that we are finding here that what people recently have considered worst case scenarios are actually conditions that we already see right now,” said Torbjörn Törnqvist, a geologist at Tulane University and a co-author on the new paper.

[Scientists stunned by Antarctic rainfall and a melt area bigger than Texas]

ASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump promised to make health care more affordable but a government report finds that out-of-pocket costs — deductibles and copayments — would average 61 percent higher under the House Republican bill.

And even though the sticker price for premiums would be lower than under the Obama-era law, what consumers actually pay would edge up on average because government financial assistance would be curtailed.

The report from the Office of the Actuary, a nonpartisan economic unit at the Health and Human Services Department, was released earlier this week with little fanfare.

"It's fascinating," said Chris Sloan, a policy expert with the Avalere Health consulting firm. "They actually think that on average people will be paying more even though the underlying premium is less."

The estimates are for the year 2026, and apply to people who buy their own health insurance policies. That group was a major focus of former President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act. Individually-purchased coverage is also key to the GOP's American Health Care Act, which would roll back much of "Obamacare.

The business dealings of Jared Kushner have become a focus in special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to a Washington Post report Thursday night.

Kushner, the adviser and son-in-law of President Donald Trump, met separately with the Russian ambassador to the U.S. and a Russian businessman in December — interactions that were already under scrutiny as part of the FBI probe.

Sources informed The Post of the financial focus of the investigation.
