Trump Administration doing well with Hurricane Harvey response?

When the worst thing that the media can come up with is questioning whether or not Trump feels enough "empathy" for the victims, or that his wife shouldn't wear heels during a crisis... you have to believe that things are going pretty well.

As many have suggested, Trump put many well qualified people in key areas of his Administration, who are stepping forward as we speak to handle this catastrophe. Those in these key positions seem well prepared, well informed, and the execution has been without complaint to this point.

But there just seems to be a more coordinated effort across the board. Both federal and local authorities are working together, rather than pointing fingers. There has been no politicization of the situation as we saw with Katrina and Sandy.

They say the key to great leadership is how one handles crisis. Whether I am grading on a curve, or the classic percentile scale... I would give the President and his administration high marks so far on this one.

The new Fox News Presidential Poll "he is tearing the country apart.

About two-thirds of Republicans feel Trump is drawing the country together (68 percent), while 15 percent say tearing the country apart and 18 percent are unsure. Nearly all Democrats (93 percent) and over half of independents (59 percent) say Trump is tearing the country apart.

In addition, a record 55 percent of voters disapprove of the job he’s doing as president, while 41 percent approve. That’s a net negative by 14 points and his worst score to-date. In April, around the 100-day mark of the administration, his ratings were at net negative three (45-48 percent). Trump’s first job rating on the Fox News Poll is the only one that’s been in positive territory: 48-47 percent (February 2017).

Since that time he’s lost the most ground with conservatives (down 7 points), Republican men (-9 points), and whites without a college degree (-9 points).

This decline started with Charlottesville Virginia and his reaction to the events and his inability at the time to condemn the racist KKK white supremacist. he followed it up three days later and a prepared speech by others to condemn them specifically what was very apparent that he really was not uncomfortable with that.

Muller and the New York Attorney General are working together on the Manafort probe. spoke to some claims by unknown persons on this site are claiming that the investigation is running into a dead-end . If you keeping up on the news and you'll see that it is not going away and because the President of the United States may not pardon people convicted of state crimes. Manafort will speak under oath to grand jury for the state of New York.

I'm not gonna predict this is the smoking gun . But it is not going away and it may get worse in fact it probably will. It could very well go nuclear so to speak.

And the lack of empathy that Donald Trump exhibits is him. I said have to say is he is not presidential. You you will disagree as usual. As noted even the Fox News polls show that he is dividing the country and his response in Texas is not going to improve how people see him . Please restrain yourself from the so-called hate don't hate the man . He's incompetent, impulsive, completely non-interested in how the political system works. More and more Americans agreeing with me including a significant number of Republicans.

He did not speak with the people in danger, it's like he did not even get damn about the victims, spoke with politicians and promoted them he but did not express true sympathy for the victims . He really praise the first responders that's fine I agree they are magnificent.

Hurricane Sandy "hit land" on the east coast as a category two hurricane.
Hurricane Katrina "hit land" in Louisiana as a category three hurricane.
Hurricane Harvey "hit land" in Texas as a category four hurricane

Of the three, it's possible that the best organized and most effective pre and post response has been Harvey. Considering it was technically the worst of the three storms at the time it hit land, it probably offered the most potential challenges.

While people like Roger apparently cares more about what hat the President is wearing, or whether he shook anyone's hand... most sensible people are more worried about things like death tolls and whether or not search and rescue, FEMA, and other relief is on the spot doing their jobs effectively.

If people like Roger had even the slightest degree of self awareness, they would realize that criticizing the first lady's shoe choices while a category four hurricane it hitting the southern coast... shows that they are simply "obsessed" with finding anything then can to criticize the situation. They don't seem to even "care" whats going on elsewhere, because they cannot possibly take their focus off what the President (or his wife) might be doing wrong.

As FBI director last year, James Comey began writing drafts of a statement exonerating Hillary Clinton, even before all witnesses in the investigation — including Clinton herself — had been interviewed.

The Senate Judiciary Committee obtained the Comey memos as part of its investigation into his firing by President Trump, which occurred on May 9.

The revelation that Comey had begun drafting memos of his exoneration statement comes from transcripts of interviews given last fall by two FBI officials.

James Rybicki, Comey’s chief of staff, and Trisha Anderson, the principal deputy general counsel of national security and cyberlaw at the FBI, gave the interviews as part of an investigation conducted by the Office of Special Counsel into the FBI’s handling of the Clinton email investigation.

In a July 5, 2016, press conference, Comey said that he would not be recommending charges against Clinton for mishandling classified information despite her use of a private email server as secretary of state.

While the transcripts of those interviews are heavily redacted, they indicate that Comey started working on an announcement clearing Clinton in April or May of last year, before the FBI interviewed 17 witnesses in the case, including Clinton and some of her top aides.

Clinton was interviewed for several hours on July 2, just three days before Comey’s announcement.

Rigged investigation. Pretty much the entire spectacle of American "democracy" is a stage-managed, scripted reality TV show for the rubes.

This is partly why they're so insanely angry -- they put the fix in and pulled out all the stops, BUT IT DIDN'T WORK..

They're terrified that they're losing power and may one day even be held to account for what they've done.

Voter satisfaction with the direction of the nation is down by double digits, as a majority says President Donald Trump is tearing the country apart.

That’s according to the latest Fox News Poll.

CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL POLL RESULTS
The number of voters happy with how things are going in the country is down 10 percentage points since April and stands at just 35 percent. It hasn’t been that low since 2013. At the same time, dissatisfaction jumped to 64 percent -- an 11-point increase.

Pollpic1Expand / Collapse
That shift is not, as is often the case, tied to the economy. Positive views on the economy are higher than in more than a decade: 36 percent say it is in either “excellent” (6 percent) or “good” (30 percent) shape. The last time conditions were rated this positively was August 2004.

The same isn’t true for Trump. His job ratings are increasingly negative -- and 56 percent feel Trump’s “tearing the country apart,” versus 33 percent who say he’s “drawing the country together.”

About two-thirds of Republicans feel Trump is drawing the country together (68 percent), while 15 percent say tearing the country apart and 18 percent are unsure. Nearly all Democrats (93 percent) and over half of independents (59 percent) say Trump is tearing the country apart.

Pollpic2Expand / Collapse
In addition, a record 55 percent of voters disapprove of the job he’s doing as president, while 41 percent approve. That’s a net negative by 14 points and his worst score to-date. In April, around the 100-day mark of the administration, his ratings were at net negative three (45-48 percent). Trump’s first job rating on the Fox News Poll is the only one that’s been in positive territory: 48-47 percent (February 2017).
Since that time he’s lost the most ground with conservatives (down 7 points), Republican men (-9 points), and whites without a college degree (-9 points). I'm much smarter than the average noon college educated white male. Unlike the racist rodent bigot from Buffalo New York, who can't think past his pathological conditions. Let the Beaners rot.

CONFIRMED: Comey Decided He Wasn't Going to Refer Hillary For Prosecution Long Before FBI Investigation Was Over

According to new transcripts released by the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday afternoon, former FBI Director James Comey made the decision not to refer then Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton for prosecution long before ever interviewing key witnesses. Members of the Committee allege Comey made the decision months before FBI agents were finished with the criminal investigation into her mishandling of classified information during her time as Secretary of State.

The transcripts were revealed in a letter sent to current FBI Director Christopher Wray, in which lawmakers are demanding an explanation and more documents surrounding the case.

"According to the unredacted portions of the transcripts, it appears that in April or early May of 2016, Mr. Comey had already decided he would issue a statement exonerating Secretary Clinton. That was long before FBI agents finished their work.

If this is not obstruction of justice then I don't know what is. Trump was right to fire him.

Criminal Enforcement

IRS Wants You to Know About Schemes, Scams and Cons
"If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!" Don't become a victim to any scheme that offers instant wealth or exemption from your obligation as a United States citizen to file tax returns and/or pay taxes. Some of these schemes can literally cost you your life savings. Others can result in your prosecution and imprisonment if you knowingly participate in them.

Abusive Return Preparer
Taxpayers should be very careful when choosing a tax preparer. While most preparers provide excellent service to their clients, a few unscrupulous return preparers file false and fraudulent tax returns and ultimately defraud their clients. It is important to know that even if someone else prepares your return, you are ultimately responsible for all the information on the tax return.

Abusive Tax Schemes
Abusive tax scheme originally took the structure of fraudulent domestic and foreign trust arrangements. However, these schemes have evolved into sophisticated arrangements to give the appearance that taxpayers are not in control of their money. However, the taxpayers receive their funds through debit/credit cards or fictitious loans. These schemes often involve offshore banking and sometimes establish scam corporations or entities.

Nonfiler Enforcement
There have always been individuals who, for a variety of reasons, argue taxes are voluntary or illegal. The courts have repeatedly rejected their arguments as frivolous and routinely impose financial penalties for raising such frivolous arguments. Take the time to learn the truth about frivolous tax arguments.

All Program and Emphasis Areas for Criminal Investigation
Criminal Investigation has categorized their investigative cases into specific program and emphasis areas of fraud. Examples of case summaries written from public record documents where cases were prosecuted can be viewed on the various program and emphasis area web pages.

Tax Scams - How to Report Them
To help the public recognize and avoid abusive tax schemes, the IRS offers an abundance of educational materials. Participating in an illegal scheme to avoid paying taxes can result in imprisonment and fines, as well as the repayment of taxes owed with penalties and interest. Education is the best way to avoid the pitfalls of these “too good to be true” tax scams.

More fake science that CH will deny because the models are wrong.....something he still has not yet answered what is wrong and which models. He chooses to obfuscate and make shit up, typical of weak minded deniers wth no clue....

But the effects don’t stay in the northernmost latitudes. Melting sea ice and increased warming slow down global air currents called jet streams and cause storms like Hurricane Harvey to “meander” and “stall,” according to Charles H. Greene, a professor of earth and atmospheric sciences at Cornell University.

“What happens in the Arctic doesn’t stay in the Arctic,” he said in a statement on Wednesday. “Just like Superstorm Sandy, Arctic warming likely played an important role in making Hurricane Harvey such an extreme killer storm.”

Researchers are still debating the exact role that climate change played in Harvey’s destructiveness. The hurricane, eventually downgraded to a tropical storm, dumped at least 11 trillion gallons of rain over Texas this week, causing devastating flooding that killed as many as 20 people.

Most agree that vicious storms like Harvey are what people can expect as greenhouse gas emissions increase sea levels, causing higher surges. And increased sea surface and air temperatures push more water into the atmosphere, which then comes down as precipitation.

It’s difficult to make a direct connection between a single storm and climate change, and most scientists are quick to hedge public statements. But researchers interviewed by Gizmodo science editor Maddie Stone, who holds a Ph.D. in earth and environmental science, said climate change either did or “probably” made Harvey worse.

The emails are pretty weak evidence against Comey IMO, but it does fit the pattern so I think it's very credible that Comey had already decided to exonerate Clinton prior to interviewing her and her top aids. Depending on the timing (before or after being instructions by his boss to soft-pedal the investigation) it may also call into question why he decided to announce in a news conference.

It does confirm my prior judgment that I wouldn't believe a word Comey was going to say in his announcement so that alone lends credence to it.

At the very least it should open an investigation into obstruction of justice.
