The Senate voted Tuesday to confirm Greg Katsas to the D.C. Court of Appeals, considered the most important court in the country for government regulation outside of the Supreme Court.
The vote was 50-48, mostly along party lines. However, Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia voted for Katsas' nomination, while Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana voted no. Kennedy had voted to advance the pick out of the Senate Judiciary Committee.Meanwhile... David Stras and Kyle Duncan are now scheduled for hearing for the Eighth Circuit and the Fifth Circuit court of appeals. Stras had had his nomination held up by Senator Franken's refusal to turn in his blue slip, while John Kennedy had withheld his blue slip on Kyle Duncan.
The fact that Chuck Grassley moved forward with these nominations is a good sign for those who want to see Trump's judicial nominations moved quickly through the process.

President Trump on Wednesday shared three inflammatory anti-Muslim videos on Twitter posted by a far-right British activist, drawing backlash from across Britain, including a sharp rebuke from the British prime minister's office.
The videos — whose authenticity could not be independently verified — were first shared by Jayda Fransen, the deputy leader of Britain First, which bills itself as a political party but has been widely condemned as an extremist group that targets mosques and Muslims.
Britain First has previously posted a number of misleading videos, and the three Trump shared were provocatively titled “Muslim migrant beats up Dutch boy on crutches!,” “Muslim destroys a statue of Virgin Mary!” and “Islamist mob pushes teenage boy off roof and beats him to death!”
Fransen, 31, who lives in a London suburb, was convicted of religiously aggravated harassment in November 2016 after abusing a woman wearing a hijab. Fransen was arrested again earlier this month after comments she made during a speech in Belfast.

“British people overwhelmingly reject the prejudiced rhetoric of the far-right which is the antithesis of the values that this country represents: decency tolerance and respect,” the spokesman said.
The unverified videos show a boy on crutches being beat, a man smashing a statue of the Virgin Mary and a group of men tossing two others off a roof and then pummeling them with their hands and feet.
The three are titled “VIDEO: Muslim migrant beats on Dutch boy on crutches,” “VIDEO: Muslim Destroys a Statue of Virgin Mary!” and “VIDEO: Islamist mob pushes teenage boy off roof and beats him to death!”
The US Council on American-Islamic Relations also criticized Trump for retweeting Fransen.
“He is clearly telling members of his base that they should hate Islam and Muslims. It amounts to incitement to violence against American Muslims,” said a statment from Nihad Awad, the group’s executive director.
The White House shrugged off the criticism, saying “these are the real threats we have to talk about.”
“Whether it’s a real video, the threat is real and that is what the president is talking about,” said Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
