Riddle me this...

After eight years of low GDP growth under Obama, liberal politicians, liberal economists, and liberal pundits scoffed at the idea that GDP growth would hit 3% under Trump.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trumps-budget-is-unrealistic-economists-say/
https://www.cbpp.org/blog/trumps-unrealistic-expectations-for-economic-growth
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/02/28/trumps-goal-of-3-percent-economic-growth-is-somewhat-unrealistic-cramer-says.html
https://www.inc.com/leigh-buchanan/gdp-growth-event.html

But now that it appears that 3% growth might be the new normal... these same people want to give all the credit to Obama and his economic policies. The argument being that Trump is simply riding the "Obama wave".  One has to wonder, why they didn't project that the "Obama wave" would produce 3% growth?

Of course, pretty much from day one of knowing Trump won the election, the market exploded, consumer confidence has gone up, and pretty much all economic indicators are rising. From deregulation, to the promise of (and delivery of) tax reform, as well as some undercutting of the economy killing Obamacare, there are distinctive and very clear differences between "Obama policy" and "Trump policy".

But only in the liberal political world of 2017 can such obvious intellectual dishonesty and cognitive dissonance reign supreme. These people will argue (today) whatever it is that makes them look good (today)... as if whatever they argued yesterday is irrelevant.  Unfortunately, none of their faithful followers are willing to hold them to task for their previous mistakes (if they even acknowledge those mistakes). They just keep listening and parroting these views as if the people peddling hem have been right all along (rather than flat out wrong).

For liberals, whether a pundit is right or wrong always takes a back seat to whether or not the pundit tells them what they want to hear.

He inherited a growing economy. The fact that the increase in the GDP was a result of his election is debatable.

The tax (reform) law just passed will result in a massive deficit will cause downward pressure on the economy. It could result in the loss of millions jobs. Historically speaking you know that we have seen very deep recession after the last tax cut. The housing bubble was partially responsible for the recession. But we shall see.

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Democrats' already wide advantage over Republicans in a hypothetical Congressional matchup has grown, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS. At the same time, enthusiasm about voting next year has increased among Democrats nationwide following an unexpected win in Alabama's Senate special election and a strong showing in Virginia's state government elections last month.
Among registered voters, 56% say they favor a Democrat in their congressional district, while 38% prefer a Republican. That 18-point edge is the widest Democrats have held in CNN polling on the 2018 contests, and the largest at this point in midterm election cycles dating back two decades. The finding follows several other public polls showing large double-digit leads for Democrats on similar questions.
Related: Full poll results
Independent voters favor Democrats by a 16-point margin, 51% to 35%, similar to the 50% to 36% margin by which they favored Democrats in fall of 2005, ahead of Democrats' 2006 recapturing of the House and Senate. The Democrats hold a larger lead overall now because Republicans make up a smaller share of the electorate than they did in 2005.
And those Republicans who are still in the electorate are less enthusiastic about voting next year than Democrats. Overall, 49% of registered voters who are Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents say they are extremely or very enthusiastic about voting for Congress next year, compared with 32% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independent voters who say the same.
The poll was conducted before the passage of Republicans' signature tax reform bill this week, which the GOP hopes will boost their electoral prospects next year. Findings from the same poll released earlier this week found that the bill's unpopularity on the rise, with few expecting tangible benefits for themselves once it becomes law.
The Republican Party itself is viewed less favorably than the Democratic Party. About a third -- 34% -- have a favorable view of the GOP, while 46% say the same about the Democrats, according to the poll. That marks a rebound for Democrats after their favorability ratings sagged earlier this fall and is the highest mark for them since July of 2016. The Republican numbers are also on the rise, but remain below levels reached earlier this year.

here we go:

While Americans are anxiously awaiting full details of the tax bill now being finalized in Congress, German economists are warning that the changes sought by President Donald Trump mean that significant amounts of new investment and jobs will shift from Europe to the United States.

“The tax competition will have a new dimension,” said Christoph Spengel, chairman of the corporate tax department at the University of Mannheim. Mr. Spengel, who is also a research associate at the Center for European Economic Research, and a group of tax experts at the university have done a detailed comparison of the two countries’ tax systems and published a report under the heading, “Germany loses out in US tax reform.”

Clemens Fuest, who heads the Ifo economic think tank, also said he believed German business would suffer. “Investments and jobs will migrate to the US,” he said.

so - the reality is that the only thing the left is good at is lying. nothing else explains this:

In our poll, 17% of people think they're getting tax cuts. "

More proof that the President knew that Flyyn lied before he fired Comey. Obstruction of justice is a crime.

Foreign Policy reports Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team has information that White House Counsel Don McGahn likely knew national security advisor Michael Flynn broke the law as early as January:

[I] the very first days of the Trump presidency, Don McGahn researched federal law dealing both with lying to federal investigators and with violations of the Logan Act, a centuries-old federal law that prohibits private citizens from negotiating with foreign governments, according to three people with direct knowledge of the confidential government documents.

(...)

The records that McGahn turned over to the special counsel...indicate he researched both statutes and warned Trump about Flynn’s possible violations.

Acting attorney general Sally Yates warned McGahn that Flynn was compromised and subject to Russian blackmail in two meetings on January 26th and 27th, but Trump would not fire his national security advisor until February 13th:

Despite McGahn’s concerns, Trump allowed Flynn to stay on the job for 18 days after he met with Yates. For almost nine months, the White House has said that the president did not fully understand or know of Flynn’s actions.

Trump recently tweeted that he fired Flynn for “lying to the FBI,” contradicting his earlier statements denying he knew Flynn had done anything wrong until he fired him for allegedly lying to Pence.

All this brings back into question what President Trump knew about Michael Flynn's activities and conversations when he encouraged FBI Director James Comey to let the Flynn matter go and then when he ultimately fired Comey in May.
