PROOF THAT PATRIOTISM IS DEAD IN THE GOP:

House GOP Votes to Release Secret Memo on Russia Probe

“Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee, disregarding Justice Department WARNINGS that their actions would be ‘EXTRAORDINARYLY RECKLESS,’ voted Monday evening to release a contentious secret memorandum said to accuse the department and the F.B.I. of misusing their authority to obtain a secret surveillance order on a former Trump campaign associate,” the New York Times reports.

“The vote, made along party lines, threw fuel on an already fiery partisan conflict over the investigations into Russia’s brazen meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Republicans invoked a power NEVER BEFORE USED by the secretive committee to effectively declassify the memo that THEY had compiled.”

AND AS IF THAT WERE NOT COWARDLY AND TRAITOROUS ENOUGH:

Washington Post: “The committee also voted along party lines against releasing a rebuttal memo from Democrats, who denounced both moves upon leaving the closed-door hearing.”
_____________

IN OTHER WORDS, WE WILL TELL YOU OUR VERSION OF THE MATTER AND BLOCK THE REST OF THE COMMITTEE FROM TELLING YOUR THEIR VERSION AND OBJECTIONS.

That will indeed only add fuel to the fire, but I think the GOP will lose this one on the very face of it.

Democrats will not remain silent.

First Lady Will Attend State of the Union

“Mrs. Trump and the president have had a tumultuous relationship at times over the years, but few episodes have roiled the peace as much as the news surrounding Ms. Daniels. The reports of a payoff blindsided the first lady, who was furious with her husband, according to two people close to the couple. She has kept a low profile since.

“On Tuesday, Mrs. Trump is expected to resurface. The White House said that she would attend Mr. Trump’s State of the Union address, typically the most high-profile appearance of the year for first ladies.

"It is also being whispered about that Ms. Stormy Daniels is planning to attend. Speculations are raging in fashion circles as to which of the two women will show the most cleavage."

Articles of Impeachment.

1. During a dinner at the White House on Jan. 27, 2017, Trump asked for a pledge of “loyalty” from James Comey, then the F.B.I. director, who was overseeing the investigation of the Trump campaign.

2. On Feb. 14, Trump directed several other officials to leave the Oval Office so he could speak privately with Comey. He then told Comey to “let this go,” referring to the investigation of Michael Flynn, who had resigned the previous day as Trump’s national security adviser.

3. On March 22, Trump directed several other officials to leave a White House briefing so he could speak privately with Daniel Coats, the director of national intelligence, and Mike Pompeo, the C.I.A. director. Trump asked them to persuade Comey to back off investigating Flynn.

4. In March and April, Trump told Comey in phone calls that he wanted Comey to lift the ”cloud” of the investigation.

5. On May 9, Trump fired Comey as F.B.I. director. On May 10, Trump told Russian officials that the firing had “taken off” the “great pressure” of the Russia investigation. On May 11, he told NBC News that the firing was because of “this Russia thing.”

6. On May 17, shortly after hearing that the Justice Department had appointed Mueller to take over the Russia investigation, Trump berated Jeff Sessions, the attorney general. The appointment had caused the administration again to lose control over the investigation, and Trump accused Sessions of “disloyalty.”

7. In June, Trump explored several options to retake control. At one point, he ordered the firing of Mueller, before the White House counsel resisted.

8. On July 8, aboard Air Force One, Trump helped draft a false public statement for his son, Donald Trump Jr. The statement claimed that a 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer was about adoption policy. Trump Jr. later acknowledged that the meeting was to discuss damaging information the Russian government had about Hillary Clinton.

9. On July 26, in a tweet, Trump called for the firing of Andrew McCabe, the F.B.I.’s deputy director, a potential corroborating witness for Comey’s conversations with Trump. The tweet was part of Trump’s efforts, discussed with White House aides, to discredit F.B.I. officials.

10. Throughout, Trump (and this quotation comes from the Nixon article of impeachment) “made false or misleading public statements for the purpose of deceiving the people of the United States.” Among other things, Trump repeatedly made untruthful statements about American intelligence agencies’ conclusions regarding Russia’s role in the 2016 election.

Obstruction of justice depends on a person’s intent — what legal experts often call “corrupt intent.” This list is so damning because it reveals Trump’s intent.

Melania Trump reportedly blindsided by news that porn star Stormy Daniels was paid hush money

Reports that porn star Stormy Daniels had been paid to keep quiet about an alleged affair she had with President Trump over a decade ago blindsided and infuriated First Lady Melania Trump, according to a report.

Ms. Trump has kept a low profile since the Wall Street Journal reported Michael Cohen, the President’s lawyer, paid Daniels $130,000 to cover up the affair in exchange for her silence just before the 2016 election.

The First Lady was furious with Trump amid the payoff reports, sources close to the couple told The New York Times.

She was absent from her husband’s trip to Davos, Switzerland for the World Economic Forum last week — but will be attending the President’s first State of the Union address on Tuesday, according to The Times.

After skipping the Davos forum, Trump visited the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. before heading to Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla Thursday.

There, she spent part of her trip relaxing at a spa, the Times reported.

Trump had always defended her husband even after he bragged about grabbing women by the p---y in an "Access Hollywood" tape or when multiple women accused him of sexual harassment.

But the First Lady and her team were silent after the Daniels story broke. Her spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham later defended Trump after rumors swirled about her whereabouts.

“The laundry list of salacious & flat-out false reporting about Mrs. Trump by tabloid publications & TV shows has seeped into "main stream media" reporting. She is focused on her family & role as FLOTUS - not the unrealistic scenarios being peddled daily by the fake news,” Grisham tweeted Friday.

Trump reportedly blew up at his staff aboard Air Force One after being warned against releasing the secret Russia investigation memo

President Donald Trump reportedly erupted at his staff aboard Air Force One after learning that a Department of Justice official warned against releasing a controversial and classified memo authored by Rep. Devin Nunes.

Trump, together with Attorney General Jeff Sessions and White House chief of staff John Kelly, reportedly spoke to officials and staffers about the DOJ's performance.

The reported outburst follows a pattern in which Trump has been increasingly involved in internal DOJ and FBI operations.

On his flight back to the US from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, President Donald Trump erupted in anger at his staff after learning that Associate Attorney General Stephen Boyd had warned that it would be “extraordinarily reckless” to release a classified House Intelligence Committee memo written by Rep. Devin Nunes, according to Bloomberg.

The memo in question details allegations that the special counsel investigation into Russian election interference has been mishandled by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI. Trump has repeatedly called for the memo's release, likely in the hope that it would vindicate his belief that the multiple probes being conducted are a partisan "witch hunt" — a claim Trump has made on multiple occasions.

Bloomberg's sources also noted that Trump and his chief of staff John Kelly had spoken personally to Attorney General Jeff Sessions and other members of his staff, with Trump himself telling Sessions that he should do his job as well as he could or risk being seen as a failure.

Trump has reportedly been more and more frustrated by the DOJ's inability to do his bidding in recent months, and on one occasion last week asked why he couldn't get "[his guys]" and the "Trump Justice Department" to do what he tells them to do.

Trump's heavy-handed involvement in the affairs of the DOJ and FBI has led several high-ranking members of the organizations to threaten to resign, and the FBI's deputy director, Andre McCabe, stepped down on Monday after months of pressure from Trump, who reportedly told FBI Director Christopher Wray to remove him. McCabe had previously been the subject of a string of tweets sent by Trump that referenced his wife, his impending retirement, and his alleged connections to former 2016 Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Thus it was under the proud eyes of Mr. Putin that the first cargo from Yamal L.N.G. was loaded into the Russian icebreaker/tanker Christophe de Margerie (named after the recently deceased chief executive the French energy company Total, which holds a 20 percent interest in the project.) The cargo was initially intended for Asia, but as gas prices soared in the Britain, it made its way to the Isle of Grain terminal near London on Dec. 28.

Here the gas was briefly stored but never made its way to the British grid. On Dec. 30, the French energy company Engie’s Gaselys tanker picked up cargo and set off for Boston, where gas prices were soaring because of the cold winter.

Because the time between the unloading of the Russian vessel and loading of the Gaselys vessel at Grain was brief, it is safe to assume that the Gaselys vessel was carrying at least some, if not all, of the Russian gas from the Yamal L.N.G. project. The storage facility in London might also have been holding L.N.G. from other producers. Nonetheless the Russia news media has gloated over this gas delivery to Boston and claimed it as Russian.

In the globalizing natural gas markets, we can expect more of these trades. Once, natural gas was primarily a regional resource delivered by land-based pipelines, but in recent years, there has been a rapid growth in the shipping of natural gas in liquefied form across the globe. Indeed, another shipment of Russian liquefied natural gas via France is expected to arrive in New England in February.

When Barack Obama went around telling everyone that would listen that Hillary Clinton was not guilty of any crimes and that she shouldn't be charged with ayything... Nobody claimed it was onstruction.

This isn't about the actions of a White House pushing back against an investigation. If it was, then everyone would be consistent. This is about how people feel what is okay for Clinton or Obama... should be illegal if Trump does it.

No creation of Special Counsel over the IRS targeting conservative groups. No Special Counsel to investigate the Fast and Furious Gun issue. No creation of Special Counsel to investigate the Clinton email scandal.

Nope, all of those investigations were kept under the hammer of the Obama DOJ and what appears to be a pretty partisan FBI. All of those investigation had actual evidence of criminal actions.... something nobody has come up with over 20 months of searching in the Russian collusion investigation.

So in your mind... it would be better if Trump had Sessions and a couple of cronies run the investigation, declare it all clear, and move on...

Than to allow a Special Counsel... and then criticize the investigation that 20 months old and still hasn't found a single shred of evidence of the criminal action they are supposed to be investigating.
