From twelve to four - the Democratic advantage continues to shrink poll by poll

With the Republicans’ House majority at risk, 47 percent of registered voters say they prefer the Democratic candidate in their district, while 43 percent favor the Republican. That four-point margin compares with a 12-point advantage Democrats held in January. Among a broader group of voting-age adults, the Democrats’ margin is 10 points, 50 percent to 40 percent.
Republicans owe part of their improved standing to Trump’s thawing job ratings. The Post-ABC poll finds that 40 percent approve of the president, up slightly from 36 percent in January to his highest level of support since last April.

While we can debate the causes of this, I think we can point to the fact that people are becoming tired of the Democrats continued talk about Russia, Mueller, impeachment, investigations, while simultaneously finding almost nothing else to actually campaign on. The anti-Trump message is starting to play to a smaller and smaller crowd.

So far, the idea has been seeded that they might plan to campaign on repealing the tax cuts, campaign on more open borders, and campaign on typical liberal causes such as green energy and opposition to coal and oil. Of course, with those issues being the central theme to their mid-term dreams, it might actually be more prudent to keep throwing all their eggs into the anti-Trump basket.

Don't forget by the time Clinton was impeached his approval rating had risen all the way up to 72%. Frustrated Republicans.

The "resistance" has started to do the same for Trump.

Agreed. #resist a Hillary/obama funded criminal hate mob.

A mirror moment.

"It seems like those who are constantly claiming that it's all about politics, are themselves so bound up in partisanship that they can't imagine anyone being objective about it."

Lol@WP, the objective last gal standing.

Cohen was just forced by the judge to give the names of his clients to prove that he has more than one. He did. Hannity is also a client.

So much for the Tom Corleone argument.

Speaking of that, its no coincidence that comey called Trump a mob boss only days after Trumps lawyer is accused of only having one client.

Another coordinated smear.

There is such a thing as voter fatigue when an issue has been pounded into the ground for a year. Likely, a given voter doesn't want to hear it and will tune it out, if you say "Trump" and "Russia" and anything else.

And yet, 69% want the probe to continue, and almost that many want it to look into Trump's business, so it's not dead to a campaign. And regardless of describing anti-Trump as a smaller and smaller crowd, 40% approval is much worse than just setting a low bar. Time was, if a President had 50% he was in trouble and campaigning against him was an effective strategy. I don't see much hope for Republicans from that quarter.

Funny how CH once again hones in on a single poll while ignoring others that do not show as an optimistic view as his cherry picked poll. No problem CH, we are not all as stupid as the typical trump sycophant and seek other information since your view is so biased.... LOL!!

2018 Generic Congressional Vote NBC News/Wall St. Jrnl Democrats 47, Republicans 40 Democrats +7
2018 Generic Congressional Vote Reuters/Ipsos Democrats 44, Republicans 34 Democrats +10
President Trump Job Approval NBC News/Wall St. Jrnl Approve 39, Disapprove 57 Disapprove +18

Yep....CH there is more than one poll and I'll give you they have closed somewhat....But, how temporary is that or are we in for a roller coaster?????

Hey asshole, that does not support your "the names of his clients to prove that he has more than one. He did. Hannity is also a client. Another lie typical of weak minded assholes like you...

Cohen fought against having to reveal the confidential list — all of three clients — as part of a bid to block the feds from reviewing documents that could be protected under attorney-client privilege.

And does nothing to disprove what I said. Again, thanks for proving you are another know nothing.!!!!

Of course, it Trump isn't good enough for the Democrats to run on, they can still use the unpopular tax overhaul, that only 27% view as good idea. Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.

Since that's about the only concrete "achievement" that incumbent Republicans can claim, it's a pretty big edge for Democrats in those races.
