The latest explanation makes no sense?
So the latest attempt by former Obama officials to justify the use of human intelligence in order to spy on "investigate" the Trump campaign, is that the FBI and CIA were attempting to "protect" the Trump campaign from being infiltrated by the Russians.
Of course, if the idea of using an informant to spy on "investigate" the Trump campaign in order to protect the Trump administration makes little sense. If our intelligence "really" believed that there were people within the Trump campaign that might either have secret ties to the Russians or be susceptible to being compromised, why wouldn't they have brought up their concerns with Trump and his campaign leadership?

It makes complete sense. The Trump campaign was warded that the Russians were attempting to infiltrate and get Trump elected. Instead of acting in coordination with the FBI they apparently at least allowed the Russians to interfere with the election to get Trump elected. And to his own surprise, he won, to our utter disrepair.

So while the Obama administration, James Clapper, John Brennan, James Comey, and gang were in charge of the White House, the Intelligence community, and our law enforcement...
You believe it was Trump and his fledgling Presidential campaign who was responsible for stopping the Russians from interfering in the election, and because of their inaction, they "allowed" the Russians to interfere?
Wouldn't the prevention of this interference (that they knew about since 2014) been the responsibility of the White House, Intelligence, and Law enforcement at the time?
Perhaps if they had spent more time actually investigating Russians, rather than Trump campaign officials, they would have had better luck stopping the Russians from interfering?

No one has claimed that. At a minimum as patriotic American citizens, they should have reported the trump tower meeting to the FBI and did not. Or the flynn contact, or Papadoplous contact or any of the other things they hid. They wanted the dirt as Jr so eloquently said more than once. Sad, you can't see that little problem in your defense of the liar in chief.....
