On the meeting with an Australian diplomat.

MAZZETTI: Going back to the meeting with [Alexander] Downer. What were you guys drinking?

PAPADOPOULOS: I think I had a gin and tonic.

MAZZETTI: Did you drink a number of gin and tonics? How much did you drink?

PAPADOPOULOS: No, I think I had one or two drinks. I think Downer himself, in numerous interviews, kept explaining that we had one drink or two drinks. No one was drunk, as some articles stated that we might have been. At least I don’t remember being drunk. I don’t think he was drunk. I don’t think his assistant was drunk. I think we had a couple drinks, that we were just talking.

MAZZETTI: In interviews, Downer has said that — besides having one drink — he has said that you brought up the Russian dirt on Hillary Clinton.

PAPADOPOULOS: I don’t remember talking about that with him at all.

MAZZETTI: So, you don’t remember, at any point in that meeting, talking about Russia dirt and Hillary Clinton?

PAPADOPOULOS: I don’t remember that at all, actually.

Is Cavanaugh facing impeachment?

late Sen. John McCain's phrase, the United States Senate has been out of "regular order" in terms of the nominating and confirming U.S. Supreme Court justices ever since Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused even a hearing to Judge Merrick Garland, the nominee of President Barrack Obama. Now we see the same naked display of power in rushing the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh. It is a process that The Baltimore Sun rightly points out in its editorial, "No to Kavanaugh" (Sept. 6), as deepening "the sense that the Supreme Court is a political institution."

So, yes, the Republicans may rush through the confirmation, but the question begged becomes "What next?" Now that three to four instances of Judge Kavanaugh allegedly having lied under oath have been revealed by the release of memos that Democrats pried open for public scrutiny, where can that take us? If the voters have it in November that Democrats take over leadership of both the House and the Senate, then all of Mr. Kavanaugh's previous testimony under oath as compared to his documented statements can be retrieved.

From what we know now, it appears the case could be made in a Congressional investigation that Mr. Kavanaugh committed perjury in his confirmation processes, this one and the earlier one that put him on the U.S. Court of Appeals. We may then witness the spectacle of impeaching a Supreme Court justice and opening up a seat for the Democrats to fill.

The newest fake news CNN poll released today said that 55% do not think that he is fit to be President.

The Truth doesn't follow the evidence the crowd doesn't love the President.

Quinnipiac University poll:

Trump's approval dropped to 38%, down from 41% last month.

70% of those surveyed said the economy is "good" or "excellent."

Respondents gave Trump the lowest rating for honesty since he entered office — 32%.
When asked if Trump is intelligent, 51% said yes, a new low.
CNN/SSRS poll:

Respondents rated Trump's approval at 36%, down from 42% last month.
The drop in approval ratings was the most significant among independent voters: 31%, down from 47%.

32% say they see the president as honest and trustworthy — down six percentage points since March.
Only 36% said Trump "cares about people like you" — another new low.

Fear will be available at 9:00 PM PDT.

I bet that Scott hasn't bought the book. He will depend upon Fox News and others to tell him what to say about the book.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

I will take a couple days to read the book. I could probably read it in four hours or so. But not tonight.

No Roger...

Won't be padding Woodward's pocket any times soon. I have no interest in reading a book about unverified information coming from unverified sources who (if they actually exist) won't reveal themselves.

I will simply enjoy the better economy, the more conservative court systems, the safer world, and my own personal job security, and the raise I just got.

I'll let you worry about all that nonsense you worry about.

well, on this thread the alky seems to have gotten his inspiration from cory T-BONE booker, and this is roger's "i am fucktard-acus" moment.

when you start posting letters from the editor from literally unknown fellow travelers in liberal idiocy, it's probably time to seek the services of a good psychiatrist.
