Here is some good non-fiction this morning!

The court on the verge of conservative realignment!

Kavanaugh flying along towards confirmation
Democrats strategize over how best to embarrass themselves!
President Trump making a long term tangible difference to the nation!
Why? Because he is President, not Hillary Clinton!

The left thinks trump is mentally unstable. But I can't help but wonder, given Hillary's strange behavior since the election, how mentally unstable (not to mention physically unstable), she would be.

And given all the job creation, particularly in manufacturing, given the demise of Isis, given NK is at the bargaining table, given that our trade agreements are being renegotiated to our favor, given all of that, the entire mentally unfit line of shit further exposes the left as becoming more extreme than perhaps ever before.

Working in the Trump administration is an unrelenting nightmare, so everyone is a suspect.

The problem for the president is it could be so many people. He can’t rule it down to one person. He is looking at each and every single member of his team.

The usual suspects are saying “The sleeper cells have awoken” circulated on text messages among aides cultist websites.

10 a.m.: Booker says he is willing to violate Senate rules to release confidential documents

The fight over access to Kavanaugh’s records from his time in the Bush White House intensified in the opening moments of the hearing Thursday morning. Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) said he is prepared to violate Senate rules and release confidential committee documents — and to risk the consequences.

Booker had questioned Kavanaugh Wednesday night about his use of the term “naked racial set-aside” and said he would make public documents backing up that assertion.

“I openly invite and accept the consequences of releasing that email right now,” Booker said. “The emails being withheld from the public have nothing to do with national security.”

Under the committee’s rules, Booker could be expelled from the Senate for releasing such records.

Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Tex.) angrily responded to Booker and referred to his potential aspirations for higher office, saying “running for president is no excuse for violating the rules of the Senate.” Cornyn argued that “this is no different from the senator deciding to release classified information that is deemed classified.”

Brett Kavanaugh Had a Bad Day Yesterday

“Nearly 12 hours into Brett Kavanaugh’s Senate confirmation hearing, Kamala Harris opened with a tantalizing query: Has the Supreme Court nominee ever discussed Robert Mueller’s probe with a lawyer at Kasowitz Benson & Torres, President Donald Trump’s longtime law firm?,” Politico reports.

Said Harris: “Be sure about your answer, sir.”

“Trump’s high court pick appeared nonplussed, responding that ‘I’m not sure I know everyone who works at that law firm,’ but the California Democrat – a veteran prosecutor known for her tenacious questioning and high on her party’s 2020 presidential short lists — would not let up.”

Asked Harris: “How can you not remember whether you’ve had a conversation about Robert Mueller or his investigation with anyone at that law firm?”

First Read: The best thing that happened to Brett Kavanaugh was that anonymous op-ed. Why? Because had it not come out, the top political story in America this morning would be his rough day on Capitol Hill yesterday.

AND SPEAKING OF NON FICTION---

Leaked Email Shows Kavanaugh Views on Abortion

As a White House lawyer in the Bush administration, Judge Brett Kavanaugh challenged the accuracy of deeming the Supreme Court’s landmark Roe v. Wade abortion rights decision to be ‘settled law of the land,'” according to a secret email obtained by the New York Times.

“The email, written in March 2003, is one of thousands of documents that a lawyer for President George W. Bush turned over to the Senate Judiciary Committee about the Supreme Court nominee but deemed ‘committee confidential,’ meaning it could not be made public or discussed by Democrats in questioning him in hearings this week.”

Wrote Kavanaugh: “I am not sure that all legal scholars refer to Roe as the settled law of the land at the Supreme Court level since Court can always overrule its precedent, and three current Justices on the Court would do so.”

AND FURTHERMORE

Booker Will Release ‘Committee Confidential’ Documents

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) announced at the start of Thursday’s Senate Judiciary Supreme Court confirmation hearing for Brett Kavanaugh that he would publicly release “committee confidential” documents, Axios reports.

Said Booker: “I am going to release the email about racial profiling. And I understand that the penalty comes with potential ousting from the Senate. And if Sen. Cornyn believes that I violated Senate rules, I openly invite and accept the consequences … the emails being withheld from the public have nothing to do with national security.”

Senate Democrats on Thursday released, over GOP opposition, several documents related to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh that had previously been classified "committee confidential."

As Day Three of confirmation hearings began, Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., said that he planned to release a document that he had referred to on Wednesday about Kavanaugh and racial profiling that dated to the nominee's days in the George W. Bush White House, despite the fact that its release could violate Senate rules.

“I openly invite and accept the consequences of my team releasing that email right now,” said Booker, noting that penalties could technically include being expelled from the Senate.

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, accused Booker of political grandstanding. “Running for president is no excuse for violating the rules of the Senate or the confidentiality of the documents that we’re privy to,” said Cornyn, adding that he viewed Booker’s action as no different from a decision to release a classified document — “irresponsible” and “outrageous.”

Cornyn's reading of Senate rules warning of the potential consequences of Booker's actions sparked a defiant response from the New Jersey senator.

"Bring it. Bring it," he said. Fellow committee Democrats came to Booker's defense. "I concur with what you're doing," said Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill. "Let's jump into this pit together."

Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, on Thursday defended the decision to keep "committee confidential" documents private, saying that redactions were often needed to protect personal information.

A Grassley aide told NBC News shortly after the exchange that the email Booker referenced was now eligible for release, and no longer considered committee confidential.

In another Kavanaugh document provided to NBC News from two Democratic sources — an email from 2003 that was originally deemed “committee confidential” but made public at 4 a.m. ET Thursday — Kavanaugh seemed to question whether the 1973 Roe v Wade decision is settled law, and whether it could be overruled.

The existence of the email was first reported by The New York Times.

“I am not sure that all legal scholars refer to Roe as the settled law of the land at the Supreme Court level since Court can always overrule its precedent, and three current Justices on the Court would do so,” he wrote, referring to justices at the time, in an email to a Republican Senate aide. The document is partially redacted.

interesting. democrats are hyperventilating over something kavanaugh wrote that is patently obvious.
