Kavanaugh committee vote by next week...

Chuck Grassley looks to be scheduling a committee vote on Judge Kavanaugh for this Thursday. Any one of the committee members can delay a vote for a week (if it is the first time a vote is called). The chances of Kavanaugh not having his vote delayed are about the same as Donald Trump naming Paul Krugman as his economic adviser.

So it would appear that the 20th will be the day the committee will vote (likely by party line) to recommend a full Senate vote. That vote will likely take place in time to have him sworn in by the time the new session starts.

Democrats would now have to get two Republicans to vote against Kavanaugh, now that Jon Kyl has taken over for John McCain. With Susan Collins suggesting she is satisfied with Kavanaugh's answers regarding abortion and Roe v. Wade, she seems a very likely yes. While Collins suggested that she wanted to look into the allegations that Kavanaugh was "dishonest" in his answers, almost nobody other than the far, far left believe he was actually "dishonest" after looking closely at the allegations. No reason to believe that Collin's research on the matter will not lead her to that same conclusion.

Murkowski has always been a "long shot" for the Democrats, and isn't likely to make any waves on this one. She is a red state Senator who would be looking at long term political suicide by siding with the left against the President and her Party. I would suspect that only under the most egregious of situations would she vote against a Trump nominee. Kavanaugh is not that situation.

The bottom line is that Kavanaugh is simply a good person, and a good Judge. Well respected within the judicial community, and by both conservative and liberal judges. The Democrats did themselves no favors with their foot stomping protests and sore loser antics.

“We have found nothing to show collusion between President Trump & Russia, absolutely zero, but every day we get more documentation showing collusion between the FBI & DOJ, the Hillary campaign, foreign spies & Russians, incredible.” @SaraCarterDC @LouDobbs

New Strzok-Page texts reveal “Media Leak Strategy.” @FoxNews So terrible, and NOTHING is being done at DOJ or FBI - but the world is watching, and they get it completely.

“ERIC Holder could be running the Justice Department right now and it would be behaving no differently than it is.” @LouDobbs

“@realDonaldTrump: I would like to extend my best wishes to all, even the haters and losers, on this special date, September 11th.”

In her email Murillo - Murillo touts Google's multi-faceted efforts to boost Hispanic turnout in the election. She knows that Latinos voted in record-breaking numbers especially in states like Florida, Nevada and Arizona, the last of which she describes as "A key state for us."

She brags that the company used its power to ensure that millions of people saw certain hashtags and social media impressions with the goal of influencing their behavior during the election.

Elsewhere in the email Murillo says "Google supported partners like Voto Latino to pay for rides to the polls in key states." She describes this assistance as "A silent donation."

Murillo then says that Google helped Voto Latino create ad campaigns to promote those rides. Now officially, Voto Latino is a non-partisan entity but that is a sham. Voto Latino is vocally partisan.

Recently, the group declared that Hispanics, all Hispanics, are in President Trump's "Crosshairs." They said they plan to respond to this by registering another million additional Hispanic voters in the next presidential cycle.

Voto Latino is a group with clear political goals, goals that Google supported in 2016. We asked both Google and Voto Latino for clarification. What exactly did Murillo mean by a silent donation?

This is a potentially significant legal question. Neither company responded to us. At the end of her email, Murillo makes it clear that Google was working to get Hillary Clinton elected. This wasn't a Get Out The Vote effort, whatever they say.

It was not aimed at all potential voters. It wasn't even aimed at a balanced cross-section of subgroups. Google didn't try to get out the vote among say Christian Arabs in Michigan or Persian Jews in Los Angeles. They sometimes vote Republican.

It was aimed only at one group, a group that Google cynically assumed would vote exclusively for the Democratic Party. Furthermore, this mobilization effort targeted not the entire country but swing states vital to the Hillary campaign. This was not an exercise in civics. This was political consulting. It was in effect an in-kind contribution to the Hillary Clinton for President Campaign.

and the alky would have us believe that the 100 grand the russians spent on fakebook ads had more influence than this shit.

the one constant i've noticed since trump got elected is that everything the left falsely accuses the right of doing, they actually ARE doing.

He keeps lying and lying and you all keep slurping and slurping.....

On Sunday, President Donald Trump tweeted approvingly about the 10-day-old news that his 25% tariffs on Chinese-made automobiles had led Ford f to decide against importing its compact Ford Focus Active model to the U.S. from the Chinese factories where the car is made.

“This is just the beginning. This car can now be BUILT IN THE U.S.A. and Ford will pay no tariffs!” Trump exulted.

One problem: That’s not going to happen.

Ford’s North America product communications manager, Mike Levine, spelled it out for the president in a tweet noting “it would not be profitable to build the Focus Active in the U.S. given an expected annual sales volume of fewer than 50,000 units and its competitive segment.”
