Vice President Mike Pence might have the most to gain from a premature end to Donald Trump’s presidency, but in an interview aired Sunday, he forcefully denied engaging in any discussion about invoking the 25th Amendment to eject Trump from office.
The vice president, who made appearances on two major Sunday news-talk shows, also delivered a sweeping condemnation of Watergate journalist Bob Woodward’s depiction of a capricious and incurious president, and again denied authorship of a stinging anonymous op-ed published last week in the New York Times that describes high-level officials discussing removing Trump.
Pence said he was willing to take a lie-detector test to back up his denial of personal authorship of the critique, but said he had not asked his staff whether any of them had penned the anonymous critique because he fully trusted none had done so.
So once again, we have an honest mature "real" Administration official who flat out states that what is written in Bob Woodward's book is total fiction. Will that prevent those infected with TDS from demanding that third hand anonymous accounts of events are what we "should" believe? Probably not. They will still believe exactly what they want to (and are told to) believe.
The fact of the matter is that there is still literally no tangible evidence that any such talks took place, and there quite honestly is very little reason to believe that they "should" take place. While some may not like the President's "style", the fact of the matter is that he is getting things done and attempting to keep most all of the promises he made to his voters.
I guess it take a true Washington insider (or complete idiot) to believe that keeping your political promises and actually pushing forward your agenda is cause to have a President removed from office.

President Trump’s antics in his “Crazytown” White House inevitably dominate the headlines. Meanwhile, however, his wrongheaded policies are damaging far more than the nation’s dignity and honor.
Hampered by inexperience and incompetence, the administration is pursuing a radically un-American agenda that should alarm progressives and conservatives alike. Trump’s warped worldview is guiding federal government policy, with awful — and worsening — consequences for the nation and the world.
A few lowlights:
● More than 2,600 children of would-be Latino immigrants were ripped from their families at the border and, as of last week, 416 remained in federal custody at facilities around the country. It is likely many will never see their parents again. This “zero-tolerance” policy of snatching kids and jailing their parents was intended as a deterrent, not as legitimate law enforcement, and it was an appalling exercise in gratuitous cruelty.

● Trump has reversed decades of environmental policy, adopting the 19th-century view that coal is the energy source of the future. He does not believe in climate change, though its effects are evident in rising seas, raging wildfires, deadly heat waves and the opening of heretofore undreamed-of shipping lanes in the Arctic. The administration seems determined to ensure that Europe, China and India reap the economic benefits of an inevitable global shift toward a clean-energy economy — while the United States misses out.
● Under Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the Justice Department has abandoned traditional civil rights enforcement. No longer is the focus on protecting and expanding the rights of minorities such as African Americans, women, Latinos and the LGBT community. Instead, the government is now more concerned about alleged “reverse discrimination,” and what it describes as threats to “religious freedom.” In particular, onerous voting laws that disproportionately affect minority groups are just fine with the Trump administration.
● White supremacist views have made their way into the mainstream of political discourse. “How hard can that be, saying that Nazis are bad?” former president Barack Obama asked last week. No answer from the White House thus far.

Trump's Overall, polls show just 36% approve of the way the President is handling his job, down from 42% in August. Among independents, the drop has been sharper, from 47% approval last month to 31% now. That's 4 points below his previous 2018 low of 35% approval among political independents in CNN polling, and 1 point below his previous all-time low among independents in CNN polling, reached in November 2017.
I'm going to take a look at the Senate. If Cruz loses and the Democrats hold onto their seats or if a couple flips going both ways Pence would be the deciding vote on the major issues. And given his own ambitions he might be troubled by the President and could be interesting.
