Maybe because there are too many magic negoes in George Washington University!
An earlier version of this article and headline created an unfair impression about who was responsible for the purchase in question. While Nikki R. Haley is the current ambassador to the United Nations, the decision on leasing the ambassador’s residence and purchasing the curtains was made during the Obama administration, according to current and former officials. The article should not have focused on Ms. Haley, nor should a picture of her have been used. The article and headline have now been edited to reflect those concerns, and the picture has been removed.

TEN YEARS AFTER THE third-deadliest hurricane in U.S. history, we still don't know how many people died because of it. We'll never know for certain how many people died in Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath.
The problems are inherent in the confusion of disasters, especially those involving multiple states and various local, state and federal agencies.
Inquires to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, and The Department of Health in Louisiana led U.S. News to a 2008 report as the most accurate and updated source of information. The report was years in the making as deaths were investigated and missing persons were located. In an effort to cut down on the confusion among agencies, the report reviewed all available death databases to attempt the impossible: an accurate count of Katrina's victims in Louisiana.
Although 1,833 is an often-cited mortality figure, it is older than figures in the report and none of the agencies we spoke to claimed it as an accurate estimate of the final death toll, as FiveThirtyEight also reported.
The most likely cause of death was drowning. The victims of the storm were often black and skewed older. In Orleans Parish, where 70 percent of the victims counted in the study died, the mortality rate for black adults was 1.7 times to 4 times higher than the mortality rate for white adults.
Trump is sounding more and more like an idiot every day/.////Now....one of rat holes favorite errors. I'd be willing to bet that rectum breaths spawn would even know the correct answer and move on.....LOLOLOL
During his presidency, Trump has posted numerous tweets asserting that the media is biased against him.
“I just cannot state strongly enough how totally dishonest much of the Media is. Truth doesn’t matter to them, they only have their hatred & agenda. This includes fake books, which come out about me all the time, always anonymous sources, and are pure fiction. Enemy of the People!” he tweeted on August 30.
And in early August, he wrote: “The Fake News hates me saying that they are the Enemy of the People only because they know it’s TRUE. I am providing a great service by explaining this to the American People. They purposely cause great division & distrust. They can also cause War! They are very dangerous & sick!”
You know as well as I know that the President didn't do any research into the methodology of the University of Washington report.
He just gets on Twitter and types out his anger against any one or anything that makes him look bad.
I haven't seen any credible evidence that the study was conducted with the intent to make the President look incompetent. They spent hundreds of hours interviewing people who are still without power. Whose homes that are still in terrible condition.
They interviewed the medical staff and looked at the records of patients who died as a consequence of the hurricane. Maybe he saved the lives of the people who caught the paper towels that he tossed into the crowd? The Fake News never covered that. Oh my goodness they just hate Trump so much that they didn't cover the story.
Menstra, you claim to be so smart and you can't comprehend what the President is doing to the country. The economy that is doing very well. But he was handed an economy that had been in recovery from the worst recession in our lifetimes.
But he's not trying to unite the country. He is pandering to the 38% only.
The Columbus Dispatch has reported that Les Wexner, the CEO of L Brands — which is the parent company of stores including Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works, and Henri Bendel, among others — has denounced the Republican party after listening to former President Obama’s speech in Columbus. At a panel discussion about civility at a YPO leadership summit Wexner said
‘I just decided I’m no longer a Republican. I’m an independent. I won’t support this nonsense in the Republican Party. I’ve been a Republican since college, joined the Young Republican Club at Ohio State. I haven’t run an ad in the newspaper that said, “I quit,” but I want you to know that now I’m an independent.’
President Barack Obama
It’s great that someone as rich as Wexner has fled the Republican party with so many others. Anyone with even a modicum of common sense knows the Republican party of today is nothing like the party they grew up with. Today’s Republicans have no problem whatsoever partnering up with one of this nation’s biggest enemies as long as they can hold onto power, and they seem to enjoy hurting Americans in the process. It’s time for them all to be heaped on the trash pile.
In 2016 Wexner called Trump and Hillary Nero and Caligula fighting over Rome. So he doesn't think much of either party. Typical of you to tell half the story.
"While my (our) poll numbers are good, with the Economy being the best ever, if it weren’t for the Rigged Russian Witch Hunt, they would be 25 points higher!" Trump tweeted. "Highly conflicted Bob Mueller & the 17 Angry Democrats are using this Phony issue to hurt us in the Midterms. No Collusion!"
George Will And 30 other prominent Republicans have argued that even though they don't agree with the Democrats we have to take the house and Senate perhaps to fulfill their obligations under the Constitution to restrain the President from acting outside the powers of the executive branch.
wp, I don't know how these people got to this place. Disliking the Democrats seems to be one of the reasons. But the fact that Trump has been acting like a child doesn't seem to bother him. Or them.
Denying that we could have helped those thousands who died, just because it makes Trump look bad, is sickening and despicable.
They were COUNTING DEATHS FIVE MONTHS AFTER THE STORM OCCURED AND FROM CAUSES THAT DIDN'T EVEN TANGENTIALLY HAD ANYTHING TO DO FROM THE STORM.
This is artificial inflaction of the death toll pure and simple.
And it gallls me that Democrats holds Republican leaders to an impossibly high standard while giving their Democrat leaders a pass.
Witness the super-heroic effort from the federal government and other states to get men and supplies to Puerto Rico only to have those supplies wasted because the Democrate local officials rather preen to CNN than actually run the recovery effort.
As usual the incompentence and corruption of the local government in Puerto Rico is the most underreported scandal from the storm simpley because those people have a D after their name.
LOU DOBBS (HOST): I'm going to name names. Rick Scott, running for senate in Florida and Ron DeSantis, running for the governorship of Florida both instantly took the side against the man who is pushing their candidacies without any reason, without any skeptical judgment, without any analysis without knowledge of the facts, and sided with those who wanted to go with the highest number, irrespective of whether they were based in reality or fact or anything close to reason. They were not.
They were extrapolations of the wildest form by two universities. I am sad to say, Harvard University and its public policy school, and George Washington University and the Milken Institute. It's a disgrace what they did. They should be ashamed of themselves and they should be apologizing to the American public and the people of Puerto Rico who have had to go through this now again, the number of deaths without again, evidence, without death certificates, without burials, without any factual basis for an analysis of what is Puerto Rico's, one of its greatest tragedies in its history.
This is simply amazing in that any deaths that didn't occur during the hurricane are unrelated to the hurricane. The study found specific factors in the deaths that were directly related to the hurricane. The lack of medical care, lack of water, food and shelter, especially for older adults contributed to their deaths.
"Denying that we could have helped those thousands who died, just because it makes Trump look bad, is sickening and despicable."
Roger is delibertly repeating a lie. The number of deaths that were directly caused by the storm (You know where these is an actual documented cause of death related to the storm) is 67.
The rest of the 3000 is nothing more than a guess unsupported with any evidence. And they did it with a bunch of "what if" theorization without even bothering to present any evidence to link a particular death to the storms.
