Strzok texted to Page on April 14, 2017. “Also, apparently Times is angry with us about the WP (Washington Post) scoop and earlier discussion we had about the Schmidt piece that had so many inaccuracies. Too much to detail here, but I told Mike and Andy they need to understand we were absolutely dealing in good faith with them. The FISA one, coupled with the Guardian piece from yesterday.”
According to several U.S. officials who spoke to this news outlet, “Mike” mentioned in Strzok’s text message is Mike Kortan, the former FBI assistant director for public affairs who retired in February. “Andy” was in reference to former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. McCabe was fired earlier this year after it was revealed in DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report that said he lied to investigators and leaked information to the media.
So the left can no longer pretend that the FBI did not leak information to NYT and WaPo, and they can no longer pretend that we don't know who did it, and we can no longer pretend that it was done for any "good reason". McCabe was already fired for leaking and then lying about it, and I suspect that Strzok was more recently fired for the same reasons. But make no mistake, these sorts of leaks are criminal.
Also, I believe I heard somewhere that lying to FBI investigators is also a crime? I don't know. Just spit-balling it here. But that may be true?
The only question left is what is the Department of Justice (led by Jeff Sessions) going to do about it? The one thing I can offer is that if the answer turns out to be "not much" then Sessions, Rosenstein, and others will be gone shortly after the midterms. Sessions, because he refuses to do anything with these issues. Rosenstein, because he cannot be trusted to be an interim director.
It won't matter at that point whether or not Mueller is still "investigating". There will be two years before another election, the Democrats will do whatever they are going to do anyways, regardless of Rosenstein.
Moreover, once the midterms are over more and more people are going to "expect" Mueller to have something to provide. If he doesn't by then, well then I guess there wasn't much to find, and I think the general public would be okay if there was some attempt to close it out. Especially as it becomes more and more obvious that the entire "probe" was tainted from the start.

There is no doubt that the President is not competent.
3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico. When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths. As time went by it did not go up by much. Then, a long time later, they started to report really large numbers, like 3000...
Before taking with FEMA he lied about Puerto Rico
.....This was done by the Democrats in order to make me look as bad as possible when I was successfully raising Billions of Dollars to help rebuild Puerto Rico. If a person died for any reason, like old age, just add them onto the list. Bad politics. I love Puerto Rico!
does a day go by where you're NOT triggered by a trump tweet, alky?
Record high market
Record low minority unemployment
Over 300k manufacturing jobs back into the us
Average wages up
That's pretty damn competent to me and to all those working class democrats too.

What roger calls a mental illness or mental incompetence is really nothing more than a dislike for his style.
He has shown himself to be a far more competent president than Obama.
The Washington Post has an article explain the estimate of the 3000 storm related death in Purto Rico is not the customary way of counting storm deaths.
A I posted a comment on the other thread explaining that the estimate is subject guesswork driven more that often than not by the political orentation of the estimators.
Senate dems are up to their old bullshit again. They've just come up with some mysterious, last moment letter from an anonymous source making some accusation against kavanaugh and demanding an investigation. Wtf? Talk about mentally unstable.
Limbaugh was all over the phoney death count lie. University of Wash used a computer model. They didn't even go down there to investigate it.
What roger calls a mental illness or mental incompetence is really nothing more than a dislike for his style.
it's also psychological projection on his part. roger's mentally ill. seriously mentally ill.

WASHINGTON — Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., confirmed Thursday that she had referred information about Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to "federal investigative authorities."
“I have received information from an individual concerning the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further, and I have honored that decision. I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities,” said Feinstein, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, which is scheduled to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination next week.
Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats met on Wednesday night to discuss a vague sexual misconduct allegation against Kavanaugh dating back to his high school days, two sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.
The information came from Rep. Anna Eschoo, D-Calif., whose office pointed NBC News to a statement released last week that they had "a confidentiality policy regarding constituent casework" that precluded the release of any further details. The existence of the letter was first reported by online publication The Intercept.
Two sources told NBC News the allegation was sexual in nature, but both said the letter writer was not specific in describing Kavanaugh's alleged behavior. One source told NBC News the conduct described could allege sexual assault, but said it could also be a lesser allegation — and added the individual making the allegation would have to be more specific with law enforcement officials for any investigation to be able to move forward.
It looks like he sexually assaulted her when they were both 17.
She wants to remain private. He has to address this issue. We have next to zero tolerance for this today.

Another reason rick scott needs to go home....another lying republican scumbag....
As Hurricane Irma approached last September, Gov. Rick Scott offered constant updates on the shifting storm and warned, over and over, against price gouging.
Apparently, Scott failed to follow his own warning.

Instead, rather than rely on debris pick-up contracts negotiated before the storm, CBS4 News’ Jim DeFede reports the governor awarded emergency oversized contracts in the Keys — creating chaos in the marketplace, delaying debris pick-up across the state and costing taxpayers as much as $30 million more than they otherwise would have paid.
One of the companies selected had no previous emergency debris removal experience, DeFede reported, while more qualified firms were prevented from even submitting bids.
It appears Scott’s action was legal. It just doesn’t make sense.
And because of the outsized rates he offered, the governor caused costs elsewhere to balloon. Worse, companies began refusing to honor their pre-negotiated contracts with other cities and counties because their subcontractors were leaving for better pay in the Keys and elsewhere.
The Project on Government Oversight in Washington is one of the few credible, bipartisan watchdog groups. A representative told reporter DeFede that Scott “subjected state and federal taxpayers to millions of dollars of wasteful spending. This is a rookie mistake made by a state that shouldn't be making rookie mistakes.”

oh alky, i meant to ask you...
did di fi get this from her chinese spy staffer? it seems like something a chi-com would do just to fuck with us. and she's so fucking stupid and gullible she'd easily fall for it.
Actually the suggestion is that she was locked in a room. Not sexually assaulted. Clearly its a desperate hit job. Even the FBI won't touch it.
My employer isn’t paying for the trip lardass, it’s a carrier that is.
You don’t have a clue how this works bean counter.
Reminds me of an old joke, an engineer, accountant and salesman are bragging about who has the best dog.
Engineer says, “come here slide rule”, engineer throws down a box of milk bones and slide rule builds a suspension bridge.
Accountant says, “come here debit”, he throws down a box of milk bones and debit builds a P&L statement.
Salesman says, “come here expense account”, expense account trots in eats all the milk bones, fucks the other 2 dogs and takes the afternoon off
LMAO
So this is the "sexual miscomduct" Di-Fi called the FBI about?
A source who said they were briefed on the contents of the letter said it described an incident involving Kavanaugh and a woman that took place when both were 17 years old and at a party. According to the source, Kavanaugh and a male friend had locked her in a room against her will, making her feel threatened, but she was able to get out of the room. The Guardian has not verified the apparent claims in the letter.
Roger is an idiot.
My employer isn’t paying for the trip .., it’s a carrier that is.
That makes it much better asshole...IOW's you get ABSOLUTELY no benefit from a 10% 401k contribution.....And you think it is good getting screwed out of a 401k contribution for a 2 weeks of vacation !!!!...No wonder why you went to UGA and don't have a lake house... how to ..LOLOLOLOL You are as dumb as they come.....reminds me of a joke....how many salesman does it take to drink a quart of vodka???? There obviously should be criminal prosecutions. With the little reported "This is being run by the White House" at some time this will up end at Obama's doorstep... Biggest political scandal of all time. Of course if you "google" it in the future there will be no results, twitter will block you and Facebook will kick you off.

hard hitting journalism from the ny times:
WASHINGTON — The State Department spent $52,701 last year buying customized and mechanized curtains for the picture windows in Nikki R. Haley’s official residence as ambassador to the United Nations, just as the department was undergoing deep budget cuts and had frozen hiring.
[...]
A spokesman for Ms. Haley said plans to buy the curtains were made in 2016, during the Obama administration. Ms. Haley had no say in the purchase, he said.
The curtains themselves cost $29,900, while the motors and hardware needed to open and close them automatically cost $22,801, according to the contracts. Installation took place from March to August of last year, during Ms. Haley’s tenure as ambassador.

hey alky,
weren't you spouting some bullshit about trump's full frontal assault on the first amendment via his criticism of the press???
when even the 0linsky throne sniffing AP thinks you're full of shit...
THE FACTS: Trump may use extraordinary rhetoric to undermine trust in the press, but Obama arguably went farther — using extraordinary actions to block the flow of information to the public.
The Obama administration used the 1917 Espionage Act with unprecedented vigor, prosecuting more people under that law for leaking sensitive information to the public than all previous administrations combined. Obama’s Justice Department dug into confidential communications between news organizations and their sources as part of that effort.
In 2013 the Obama administration obtained the records of 20 Associated Press office phone lines and reporters’ home and cell phones, seizing them without notice, as part of an investigation into the disclosure of information about a foiled al-Qaida terrorist plot.
AP was not the target of the investigation. But it called the seizure a “massive and unprecedented intrusion” into its news-gathering activities, betraying information about its operations “that the government has no conceivable right to know.”
Obama’s Justice Department also secretly dogged Fox News journalist James Rosen, getting his phone records, tracking his arrivals and departures at the State Department through his security-badge use, obtaining a search warrant to see his personal emails and naming him as a possible criminal conspirator in the investigation of a news leak.
“The Obama administration,” The New York Times editorial board wrote at the time, “has moved beyond protecting government secrets to threatening fundamental freedoms of the press to gather news.”

Why people distrust the NY Times, Part 8,967,465. Breathlessly announces curtains in Nikki Haley's official residence cost $52,701 at a time of "deep budget cuts." Forgets to mention curtains had been ordered in 2016 by Obama admin.
