Get Ready for WWIII ??

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg Will Retire from the US Supreme Court in January, 2019
While the Nation is preoccupied with the appointment of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy, it appears there will soon be another vacancy on the US Supreme Court
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has had a re-occurrence of malignant melanoma, she has told her law clerks. Ginsburg was treated in 1999 for colon cancer and had surgery in 2009 for pancreatic cancer.
She has told key Democratic members of the Senate about her medical condition, including ranking Democratic member of the Judiciary Committee Dianne Feinstein. This explains in part the "take no prisoners" attitude of the Democrats during the Kavanaugh nomination, carefully orchestrating weak 37 year old allegations against Kavanaugh by Women he barely remembers knowing in High School and College.

Now to be clear... this is not being "widely reported" - and the Santa Monica Observer is not exactly Reuters, so it's unclear exactly how accurate this report is. Heck, it's not even made it's way to the Drudge Report as of yet. And Drudge is not exactly shy about linking to dubious sources if the story is interesting enough. So my gut feeling is that this may not actually be a real "scoop".

But it would explain why the underlying attacks on Judge Kavanaugh seemed so over the top and oh so desperate. It also is something extremely interesting to casually "chat about" in a non emotional manner.

There is no question that if Ruth Bader Ginsburg retires from the USSC that the collective liberal psyche will explode.

If true the Democrats and their friends in the media are about to find out how hollow their "victory" is.

There are now enough GOP senators to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett over the objections of Mukowski and Collins.

Although I suspect Trump will be more receptive to Collins' objections than Mukowski.

The deciding vote to put Barrett will be senator Scott of Florida.

The world is a very dangerous place!
The country of Iran, as an example, is responsible for a bloody proxy war against Saudi Arabia in Yemen, trying to destabilize Iraq’s fragile attempt at democracy, supporting the terror group Hezbollah in Lebanon, propping up dictator Bashar Assad in Syria (who has killed millions of his own citizens), and much more. Likewise, the Iranians have killed many Americans and other innocent people throughout the Middle East. Iran states openly, and with great force, “Death to America!” and “Death to Israel!” Iran is considered “the world’s leading sponsor of terror.”
On the other hand, Saudi Arabia would gladly withdraw from Yemen if the Iranians would agree to leave. They would immediately provide desperately needed humanitarian assistance. Additionally, Saudi Arabia has agreed to spend billions of dollars in leading the fight against Radical Islamic Terrorism.
After my heavily negotiated trip to Saudi Arabia last year, the Kingdom agreed to spend and invest $450 billion in the United States. This is a record amount of money. It will create hundreds of thousands of jobs, tremendous economic development, and much additional wealth for the United States. Of the $450 billion, $110 billion will be spent on the purchase of military equipment from Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and many other great U.S. defense contractors. If we foolishly cancel these contracts, Russia and China would be the enormous beneficiaries - and very happy to acquire all of this newfound business. It would be a wonderful gift to them directly from the United States!
The crime against Jamal Khashoggi was a terrible one, and one that our country does not condone. Indeed, we have taken strong action against those already known to have participated in the murder. After great independent research, we now know many details of this horrible crime. We have already sanctioned 17 Saudis known to have been involved in the murder of Mr. Khashoggi, and the disposal of his body.
Representatives of Saudi Arabia say that Jamal Khashoggi was an “enemy of the state” and a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, but my decision is in no way based on that – this is an unacceptable and horrible crime. King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman vigorously deny any knowledge of the planning or execution of the murder of Mr. Khashoggi. Our intelligence agencies continue to assess all information, but it could very well be that the Crown Prince had knowledge of this tragic event – maybe he did and maybe he didn’t!

WASHINGTON — President Trump told the White House counsel in the spring that he wanted to order the Justice Department to according to two people familiar with the conversation.

The lawyer, Donald F. McGahn II, rebuffed the president, saying that he had no authority to order a prosecution. Mr. McGahn said that while he could request an investigation, that too could prompt accusations of abuse of power. To underscore his point, Mr. McGahn had White House lawyers write a memo for Mr. Trump warning that if he asked law enforcement to investigate his rivals, he could face a range of consequences, including possible impeachment.

The encounter was one of the most blatant examples yet of how Mr. Trump views the typically independent Justice Department as a tool to be wielded against his political enemies. It took on additional significance in recent weeks when Mr. McGahn left the White House and Mr. Trump appointed a relatively inexperienced political loyalist, Matthew G. Whitaker, as the acting attorney general.

While U.S. Attorney, he served on the Controlled Substances and Asset Forfeiture Subcommittee of the Attorney General's Advisory Committee and was a member of both the White Collar Crime Subcommittee and the Violent and Organized Crime Subcommittee. Previously, Whitaker was a managing partner of Des Moines based law firm, Whitaker Hagenow & Gustoff LLP. He was also the Executive Director for FACT, The Foundation for Accountability & Civic Trust, between 2014 and 2017.

Mr. Whitaker graduated with a Master of Business Administration, Juris Doctor, and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa."

Which college degree do you hold Roger??

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

In his conversation with Mr. McGahn, the president asked what stopped him from ordering the Justice Department to investigate Mr. Comey and Mrs. Clinton, the two people familiar with the conversation said. He did have the authority to ask the Justice Department to investigate, Mr. McGahn said, but warned that making such a request could create a series of problems.

Mr. McGahn promised to write a memo outlining the president’s authorities. In the days that followed, lawyers in the White House Counsel’s Office wrote a several-page document in which they strongly cautioned Mr. Trump against asking the Justice Department to investigate anyone.

The lawyers laid out a series of consequences. For starters, Justice Department lawyers could refuse to follow Mr. Trump’s orders even before an investigation began, setting off another political firestorm.

If charges were brought, judges could dismiss them. And Congress, they added, could investigate the president’s role in a prosecution and begin impeachment proceedings.

Ultimately, the lawyers warned, Mr. Trump could be voted out of office if voters believed he had abused his power.

Mr. Trump’s frustrations about Mr. Comey and Mrs. Clinton were a recurring refrain, a former White House official said. “Why aren’t they going after” them?, the president would ask of Justice Department officials.

For decades, White House aides have routinely sought to shield presidents from decisions related to criminal cases or even from talking about them publicly. Presidential meddling could undermine the legitimacy of prosecutions by attaching political overtones to investigations in which career law enforcement officials followed the evidence and the law.

Perhaps more than any president since Richard M. Nixon, Mr. Trump has been accused of trying to exploit his authority over law enforcement. Witnesses have told the special counsel’s investigators about how Mr. Trump tried to end an investigation into an aide, install loyalists to oversee the inquiry into his campaign and fire Mr. Mueller.

In addition, Mr. Trump has attacked the integrity of Justice Department officials, claiming they are on a “witch hunt” to bring him down.

C.H. Truth said...

And do you have any evidence that it's not?

It's actually not against the law to use private email for certain things. In fact, there are regulations that cover how you preserve anything from a private email to government archives.

It is, however, against the law to use private email for classified documents, and it's against the law not to delete or not preserve those emails, and it's against the law to conduct certain types of business on personal email.

Or did you forget that this was the Hillary defense? That nothing she sent or received was classified?

Ivanka Trump sent hundreds of emails last year to White House aides, Cabinet officials and her assistants using a personal account, many of them in violation of federal records rules, according to people familiar with a White House examination of her correspondence.

White House ethics officials learned of Trump’s repeated use of personal email when reviewing emails gathered last fall by five Cabinet agencies to respond to a public records lawsuit. That review revealed that throughout much of 2017, she often discussed or relayed official White House business using a private email account with a domain that she shares with her husband, Jared Kushner.

The discovery alarmed some advisers to President Trump, who feared that his daughter’s practices bore similarities to the personal email use of Hillary Clinton, an issue he made a focus of his 2016 campaign. He attacked his Democratic challenger as untrustworthy and dubbed her “Crooked Hillary” for using a personal email account as secretary of state.

Some aides were startled by the volume of Ivanka Trump’s personal emails — and taken aback by her response when questioned about the practice. She said she was not familiar with some details of the rules, according to people with knowledge of her reaction.

The White House referred requests for comment to Ivanka Trump’s attorney and ethics counsel, Abbe Lowell.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

comparisons between Ivanka Trump and Clinton were nonetheless obvious as House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) and Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) announced their intention to investigate, in letters to White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly and acting White House counsel Emmet Flood. They demanded a full account of exactly how many emails Trump sent and received, on what subjects, and whether she had preserved them in accordance with the Presidential Records Act.

It took on additional significance in recent weeks when Mr. McGahn left the White House and Mr. Trump appointed a relatively inexperienced political loyalist, Matthew G. Whitaker, as the acting attorney general.

It is unclear whether Mr. Trump read Mr. McGahn’s memo or whether he pursued the prosecutions further. But the president has continued to privately discuss the matter, including the possible appointment of a second special counsel to investigate both Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Comey ... He has also repeatedly expressed disappointment in the F.B.I. director, Christopher A. Wray, for failing to more aggressively investigate Mrs. Clinton, calling him weak ...

CNN reports Trump didn't just approach McGahn with his desires. He also discussed prosecuting Clinton both with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Whitaker.

President Donald Trump on multiple occasions raised with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Matt Whitaker, who was then-chief of staff to Jeff Sessions, whether the Justice Department was progressing in investigating Hillary Clinton, according to a source familiar with the matter.

(...)

Anticipating the question about Clinton would be raised, Whitaker came prepared to answer with what Justice was doing on Clinton-related matters, including the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One investigations, the source said. The source added that Whitaker was trying to appease the President, but did not seem to cross any line.

In July 2016, Whitaker wrote an opinion piece for USA Today saying he would have indicted Clinton.

Trump's animosity toward Comey is clear but what the president believed DOJ could prosecute him for is ambiguous.

Whittaker took a lot of money from curious people.

Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker's public financial disclosure forms show a man who made almost $1 million from a charity that claimed him as its only employee and who collected legal fees from a company charged with fraud.

Washington Post:

The form, which Whitaker first filled out after taking over as Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s chief of staff, shows Whitaker drew a salary from the conservative Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust of $904,000 and collected $1,875 in legal fees from World Patent Marketing.

That company is notable because it shut down in May and agreed to pay a settlement of more than $25 million to resolve a Federal Trade Commission inquiry into its practices.

Whitaker also reported a $103,000 distribution from his own law firm and $15,000 in consulting fees from CNN, the form shows. He reported that he had two liabilities of between $10,000 and $15,000 in 2017 — both credit card accounts.

The disclosure report covers 2016 through October 2017, when Whitaker started at the Justice Department. Although Whitaker first signed it in November 2017, the report was revised several times after he took over as acting attorney general in the wake of Sessions’s ouster.

The Associated Press' Chad Day notes Whitaker's disclosure forms were revised as recently as today.

Even before his financial disclosure was made public, Whitaker’s finances had come under intense scrutiny.

Over the past two decades, Whitaker owned a day-care center, a concrete supply business and a trailer manufacturer; served as the U.S. attorney in Iowa; and before coming to the Justice Department to be Sessions’s chief of staff, did legal commentary and led the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust, which described itself as a watchdog nonprofit dedicated to exposing unethical conduct by public officials.

Whitaker also was involved in a taxpayer-subsidized effort to rehabilitate an apartment building for affordable housing in Des Moines but made little progress — frustrating city leaders — and ultimately walked away from the project.

In the three years after he arrived in Washington in 2014, Matthew G. Whitaker received more than $1.2 million as the leader of a charity that reported having no other employees, some of the best pay of his career.

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust described itself as a new watchdog nonprofit dedicated to exposing unethical conduct by public officials. For Whitaker, it became a lucrative steppingstone in a swift rise from a modest law practice in Iowa to the nation’s top law enforcement job. As FACT’s president, he regularly appeared on radio and television, often to skewer liberals.
But FACT’s origins and the source of funding used to pay Whitaker — now the acting attorney general — remain obscured. An examination of state and federal records, and interviews with those involved, show that the group is part of a national network of nonprofits that often work in concert to amplify conservative messages.

Contrary to its claims in news releases and a tax filing, the group was created under a different name two years before Whitaker’s arrival, according to incorporation and IRS records. At least two of the organizers were involved in another conservative charity using the same address.

In its application to the IRS for status as a tax-exempt organization, the organizers reported that the group would study the impact of environmental regulations on businesses, records show. In that incarnation, the group took no action and “only existed on paper,” one man named in IRS filings as a board member told The Washington Post. Another named in a state filing as a board member said he never agreed to be on the board.

Whitaker’s 2017 pay from the charity — more than $500,000 for the first nine months, or half the charity’s receipts for the year, according to tax filings — and the group’s earlier, dormant incarnation have not been previously reported by media.

Whitaker did not respond to requests for interviews. Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec declined to answer detailed questions about his involvement in FACT, referring a reporter to the charity.

Wesley K. Clark
Special to the Washington Post
Of all the roles of the presidency, commander in chief was perhaps the one that candidate Donald Trump most relished. His take-charge style, his hat and slogan, his command presence on the stage, his early experience at New York Military Academy and his boasting that “I know more about ISIS than the generals do” demonstrated his inclinations. And many Americans, including service members and veterans, believed that he would be a strong and effective commander in chief.

Yet as president, Trump’s actions and behavior have led service members and veterans to question whether he really understands who a commander in chief is, or what he does.

I served under eight presidents. I applied for West Point as President John F. Kennedy confronted the Soviets in Berlin, went to Vietnam under President Richard Nixon and came home on a stretcher, worked in the White House under President Gerald Ford, and eventually retired as NATO supreme allied commander under President Bill Clinton. I ran for the presidency myself out of deep concern as the ill-considered Iraq War unfolded under President George W. Bush. My heart is with the men and women in uniform, as well as our veterans. It is that affinity that brings me to these observations.

President Trump believes he honors and respects the military. He praises our men and women constantly. “I don’t think anybody’s been more with the military than I have, as a president,” he told Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.” He has appointed numerous generals to serve in his administration (“I have generals that are great generals”) and gained pay raises and hikes in defense spending. He fired the VA chief. He has a snappy salute and appreciates a good military parade, like the one he saw in France last year. He wants to be loved, respected and admired, no doubt.

But there is more to being commander in chief. He commands us, but he also represents us. The military is mission-oriented and values-based. The mission is protecting the United States, securing our freedoms, advancing our interests. The commander in chief sets the directions, makes the big decisions and inspires us to carry out the mission. And in his person and character, he represents the men and women who serve, as well as the veterans. He is actually our chief recruiter, too. We are loyal, regardless of which party is in power or who is in the Oval Office. We can’t be bought. We believe in selfless service, telling truth to power, choosing the harder right over the easier wrong. We honor noble sacrifice.

For Trump, trouble began on several of these fronts before he was even in office. He dismissed the service and sacrifice of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and, by implication, all those who had suffered as prisoners of war. “He’s not a war hero,” Trump said while campaigning in Iowa. “I like people who weren’t captured.”

He engaged in a back-and-forth with Khizr and Ghazala Khan, Gold Star parents whose son, Army Capt. Humayun Khan, died in combat. After Khizr Khan pointed out in an emotional speech at the Democratic National Convention that Trump had “sacrificed nothing, and no one,” Trump suggested that “Hillary’s script writers” were responsible for the speech and said that Khan had “viciously attacked” him. And there were the references to what “his” generals would do and be. “I see my generals, generals that are going to keep us so safe,” he said on Inauguration Day.

Didn’t he understand that good leaders are big-hearted, that they don’t bully and quarrel with those they outrank? And doesn’t he respect that generals are loyal to the Constitution and chain of command – you can’t “own” them?

In the first military operation of his tenure, which Trump personally authorized, Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens was killed. Trump seemed to slough off the blame onto his predecessor, and his own secretary of defense, retired Gen. Jim Mattis.

“Well, this was a mission that started before I got here,” the president said on “Fox & Friends,” referring to the Obama administration before turning on his own team: “They explained what they wanted to do, the generals,” he said. “My generals are the most respected that we’ve had in many decades,” he added, “and they lost Ryan.”

Good leaders accept responsibility, especially when things go wrong. Commanders in chief do that.

He apparently didn’t know how to console the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, killed in an ambush in Niger, and ended up in a partisan spat with a congresswoman who had heard Trump tell Myeshia Johnson “something to the effect that ‘he knew what he was getting into when he signed up, but I guess it hurts anyway.’ ”

Commanders in chief don’t do that.

Posturing and electioneering were evident in the call for a parade in Washington, since canceled, and the rush to deploy active-duty forces to the border to stem “an invasion” from the south. We don’t want to be used that way.

The president hasn’t yet visited our men and women in a combat zone – not Afghanistan, Iraq or even along the DMZ in Korea. And last week, when he failed to visit the U.S. cemetery at Belleau Wood in France, where so many Americans gave their lives – it was raining, and a long drive from Paris – the criticisms exploded. Did he not understand that the troops and veterans want the president to see them where they work, to share in their hardships a little, and appreciate their sacrifices and risks?

“I’ve had an unbelievable busy schedule, and I will be doing it,” Trump said in the Fox interview on Sunday. I was in the ops center with the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam, when President Nixon braved the rocket zone north of Saigon to see the troops. Yes, even Nixon.

But if Trump struggles with his role’s rites and rituals, there are deeper issues with his command. His blustering and combative diplomacy on Korea, cozying up with a potential adversary who has consistently worked to undermine the United States, and his pattern of insulting friends and disrupting allies are all deeply unsettling to the middle-grade and senior officers who plan and execute U.S. policy. They need steady, consistent, reliable leadership. The bobbing and weaving may work in a small family office, but he is now leading one of the largest, most structured organizations in the world – and certainly the most powerful. It needs a steady hand, not just at secretary of defense, but also at the very top.

What actually drives Trump’s policies and actions as commander in chief? On what basis does he make the decisions that could separate us from our families, and send us to war? By all reports he doesn’t like to read, doesn’t suffer long briefings, doesn’t want to study, doesn’t seem to want much of the experience of the generals closest to him.

We honor the chain of command, so we trust him with the most central issues of our time: war, peace, the nuclear button. But Russia is still bullying, North Korea is still polishing up its nuclear force, China is strengthening its position in the South China Sea, and Iran and the Islamic State are still there in the Middle East, while our oldest allies are cringing and disheartened.

In his campaign, Trump promised that only he knew how to lead America. In the field of national security the jury is still out.

Furthermore, biology is not as straightforward as the proposal suggests. By some estimates, as many as one in 100 people have differences or disorders of sex development, such as hormonal conditions, genetic changes or anatomical ambiguities, some of which mean that their genitalia cannot clearly be classified as male or female. For most of the twentieth century, doctors would often surgically alter an infant’s ambiguous genitals to match whichever sex was easier, and expect the child to adapt. Frequently, they were wrong. A 2004 study tracked 14 genetically male children given female genitalia; 8 ended up identifying as male, and the surgical intervention caused them great distress (W. G. Reiner and J. P. Gearhart N. Engl. J. Med. 350, 333–341; 2004).

The research and medical community now sees sex as more complex than male and female, and gender as a spectrum that includes transgender people and those who identify as neither male nor female. The US administration’s proposal would ignore that expert consensus

Scientific Consensus

Consensus is normally achieved through communication at conferences, the publication process, replication (reproducible results by others), and peer review.

So Denny... can you provide the specific scientific studies, the replication, peer review, and other scientific evidence that leads you to believe that the idea of a fluid spectrum of gender is (at this point) a scientific consensus?

Because so far, all I have seen is a letter from 1600 people who claim to be scientists and provide an opinion (that doesn't appear to be backed by any scientific experiments or data at all). By their own admission, the concept is too new to have conducted any scientific experiments to prove their opinions, because they still are not even sure what they are looking for.

Given that there are approximately seven million scientists in this country, I would offer that the political opinions of 1600 of them hardly qualifies as a majority of scientists, much less a "consensus" of the scientific community.

Or is the idea of a "scientific consensus" now defined as anything being said by anyone in the scientific community on anything?

A forged signature swapped for $1 — or sometimes a cigarette.

The crude exchange played out hundreds of times on L.A.’s skid row during the 2016 election cycle and again this year, prosecutors said Tuesday as they announced criminal charges against nine people accused in a fraud scheme.

Using cash and cigarettes as lures, the defendants approached homeless people on skid row and asked them to forge signatures on state ballot measure petitions and voter registration forms, the district attorney’s office said. The defendants — some of whom were scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday — face several criminal charges, including circulating a petition with fake names, voter fraud and registering a fictitious person.

The charges, which were filed three weeks ago but made public Tuesday, followed a Los Angeles Police Department crackdown on suspected election fraud on skid row earlier in the year.

“They paid individuals to sign the names,” Officer Deon Joseph, the senior lead officer on skid row, told The Times in September. “That’s an assault on our democracy.”

Denny - the study in question shows what most people would be willing to concede. That in a small amount of cases (by their own studies about 0.3% of the population or 1 in 333) - there may be some inconsistencies regarding biological sex and a particular portion of the brain.

In other words, a biological female/male has a portion of the brain that does not correspond to what the 99.7% of female/male brains look like.

They still concede in the study that this is only a "marker" and that they do not understand exactly what this portion of the brain might actually do or how it might trigger transgenderism. As they continue to suggest, this 'science' is new and incomplete. It could be that it has nothing at all to do with it.

But all this particular study concludes is that in roughly 0.3 percent of the time someone is born with something that isn't quite normal. This is not too far off how many people are born with one kidney or how many people are born with 6 fingers or toes. Are the amount of kidneys or toes part of a spectrum?

To be clear... I have never argued that there is no such thing as someone who might be transgender. I also would believe that is is genetic or biological. But then again, paedophilia would also be something that is likely genetic or biological. We don't go around suggesting that sexual attraction to prepubescent children should be defined on a natural spectrum.

What I reject is the idea that gender is "fluid" and that gender is based on a "spectrum". This study does nothing to further than belief and in fact it sort of suggests the opposite. When 99.7% of the population is consistent, then the other 0.3% (by statistical fact) are simply exceptions... which exist in all matters of nature.

C.H. Truth said...

More to the point...

The study in question is just suggesting that 0.3% of the time someone is born with a disconnect between a portion of their brain and their biological sex.

That does not, by any definition, create a new "gender" or make "gender fluid" or create a "gender spectrum".

Transgenderism is an obvious abnormality... by statistical, mathematical, and scientific definition. Such an abnormality (like any abnormality) should be treated in whatever way that needs to be (and I have no objections to people taking hormones and having a sex change if that is what they want to do). Or if science allows at some time, to take other hormones to change their neurological tendencies to match their physical bodies if that is what they prefer to do. I really don't care as long as they end up happy.

But that doesn't mean that it's not an abnormality or that this 0.3% of the population should be declared to have their own newly defined "gender" or that this 0.3% of the population creates a "spectrum".

If you were half as smart as you think you are, you would have never posted the study, because you would have seen that it did nothing to dispute what I stated, and in fact it largely reinforces it.

Your problem (as it always seems to be) is that you have no understanding of relatively. In your simple mind everyone is 100% one way or 100% the other. In this simpleton way of thinking, if you can show any evidence that there is a scientific explanation of why someone might be gender confused... then you have proven everything (including that gender is a spectrum).

TRANSGENDER SURGERY: REGRET RATES HIGHEST IN MALE-TO-FEMALE REASSIGNMENT OPERATIONS

Gender-confirmation surgeries—the name given to procedures that change the physical appearance and function of sexual characteristics—increased by 20 percent from 2015 to 2016 in the U.S., with more than 3,000 such operations performed last year. Rates are also increasing worldwide. Now, at least one surgeon is reporting a trend of regret.

Urologist Miroslav Djordjevic, who specializes in gender reassignment surgery, has seen an increase in “reversal” surgeries among transgender women who want their male genitalia back. In the past five years, Djordjevic performed seven reversals in his clinic in Belgrade, Serbia. The urologist explains to The Telegraph that those who want the reversal display high levels of depression, and in some instances, suicidal thoughts. Other researchers also report hearing about such regrets.

Kind of tells me transgender is not a natural condition but a mental health problem that can't be fixed with gender reassignment surgery.

And the normalization of transgenderism is more of a political fad without a scientific basis in nature.

Unfortunately this fad prevents real sufferers from seeking the proper help to lead happy productive lives.

C.H. Truth said...

Well Denny, neither you or I are experts on gender. Although I suspect that almost nobody is an "expert" on this particular subject, since it hasn't been a subject for very long. Just a couple of years ago, nobody in the world was suggesting that there was more than two sexes or two genders.

But what I can do is read a report and determine if it proves what you suggest it does. This particular report was little more than a study that attempts to find a causal relationship between something biological/neurological and the idea that someone would be "transgender" or having the feeling that they are person trapped in a body of the wrong biological sex.

But at the end of the day, science can only tell us the facts.

In this study the fact it that 99.7% of humans do not have any cognitive dissociation regarding their sex or gender. The study also finds a "marker" that suggests (but cannot be proven) that this may be caused by an area of the brain being developed differently.

But science cannot determine the "definition" of what this means. By any objective standard, something that only happens 0.3% of the time is not a normal condition that allows for it's own category, and generally science would regard that sort of percentage as an anomaly or aberration.

In other words transgenderism would probably be better describes as a medical/neurological "condition" rather than it's own definition of a entirely new sex or gender.

The concept of providing it as a label or determining that this allows for society to demand that gender should be redefined is entirely a political or social determination. In those regards, a scientist's views are going to likely follow that scientist's political philosophy. Although I strongly suspect that the more neutral a scientist is and the more stringent he or she is to science.... the more likely that they would look at this situation in terms of an exception or aberration or condition (rather than a third sex or third gender).

So the study you provided does not demand that there is any sort of scientific consensus on this subject, other than I am sure that most scientists would agree that there is something neurological or biological that explains the 0.3% of the population who seem "transgender" (however you want to define it).

or I are experts on gender

That is certainly evident especially with trumps dick in your mouth....Let me make a suggestion.....instead of trying to show me how smart you are with lots of pretty words.....learn how to read instead of being a partisan asshole...Trust me, have not advocated any consensus other than there is none...your wasting your time trying to prove something that I never postulated....Rat hole started it and you fell for his initial stupid post....now the only condition left is you, going away and apologizing for being a horses ass.....LOL BTW....your menial .3% is a whole lot more than the number of bakers you defend not baking....too stupid for words....and you lose again..
