Mueller turns in Report !!!

One thing we know. No criminal conspiracy to steal any elecions!

So the rumors were true, and Mueller did turn in his report today at 5:00

Oh, and there are no other indictments coming. That means that the Mueller probe went 674 days without indicting a single person over the issue of "collusion". That also means that people can stop speculating as to how many more indictments are coming, and whether or not Mueller is holding back indictments of key players, or whether or not Manfort or Gates or Flynn or anyone else is "just about ready" to "flip" on the concept of collusion.

A list of people who are not indicted include:
  • Donald Trump will not be indicted
  • Donald Trump Jr will not be indicted
  • Jared Kushner will not be indicted
  • Carter Page will not be indicted

It's also been reported that the report will not include much (if any) information regarding individuals who were not charged, although one tends to believe that there will be at least some tangible information about the President.

But the key here is that Donald Trump is the only person who could not be indicted (based on his position of President). So it's conceivable that a "suggested" indictment could be handed over, but quite obviously not for collusion. After all, it would be "literally" impossible for the President to have colluded with Russia without any assistance from anyone else. If anyone else had been involved, they would have been indicted.

The last remaining hope that Democrats can fall back on is the idea that Mueller would suggest that Trump obstructed Justice. But given that the President was no ever subpoenaed and only asked limited questions on these subjects, strongly suggests that Mueller did not seem to think that there was anything there.

People tend to forget that in the areas of law, that what is a crime is fairly well mapped out. Many many specific actions are tied to charges of obstruction (lying under oath, witness tampering, destroying evidence) and like it or not, the President has not committed any of those actions.

Mueller could suggest something abstract based on what we know, but as I have pointed out before, that's just an opinion. Too many people would have differing opinions on whether or not Mueller would be right. Unless there is something substantial that we are unaware of,  there is little chance that Trump is any tangible trouble on that front.

SCREAMING and SHOUTING, Trump said,

“They are screaming and shouting at people, horribly threatening them to come up with the answers they want. They are a disgrace to our Nation and don’t care how many lives the ruin. These are Angry People, including the highly conflicted Bob Mueller, who worked for Obama for 8 years. They won’t even look at all of the bad acts and crimes on the other side. A TOTAL WITCH HUNT LIKE NO OTHER IN AMERICAN HISTORY!”

President Trump was RIGHT AGAIN

very interesting that Barr asked Rosenstein to prepare a report on his actions in the probe before he leaves (at least what I recall, didn't see anything in a quick google search) I figured he wanted to get him on the record on this. No taking the 5th...

I see a boomerang coming, bwtfdik.

and isn't not prosecuting a form of obstruction of justice if they failed to go after leads taking them to democrats ??? Will be interesting.

Keeping my fingers crossed that Barr is the real deal, FINALLY.

Attorney General William Barr delivered a letter to Congress on Friday notifying the leaders of the Judiciary committees that special counsel Robert Mueller had submitted his report on the Russia investigation. The letter was addressed to Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Democratic Rep. Jerrold Nadler of New York, Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, and Republican Rep. Doug Collins of Georgia.

Here is the text of the letter:

Dear Chairman Graham, Chairman Nadler, Ranking Member Feinstein, and Ranking Member Collins:

I write to notify you pursuant to 28 C.F.R. 600.9(a)(3) that Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III has concluded his investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election and related matters. In addition to this notification, the Special Counsel regulations require that I provide you with “a description and explanation of instances (if any) in which the Attorney General” or acting Attorney General “concluded that a proposed action by a Special Counsel was so inappropriate or unwarranted under established Departmental practices that it should not be pursued.” 28 C.F.R. 600.9(a)(3). There were no such instances during the Special Counsel’s investigation.

The Special Counsel has submitted to me today a “confidential report explaining the prosecution or declination decisions” he has reached, as required by 28 C.F.R. 600.8(c). I am reviewing the report and anticipate that I may be in a position to advise you of the Special Counsel’s principal conclusions as soon as this weekend.

Separately, I intend to consult with Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein and Special Counsel Mueller to determine what other information from the report can be released to Congress and the public consistent with the law, including the Special Counsel regulations, and the Department’s long-standing practices and policies. I remain committed to as much transparency as possible, and I will keep you informed as to the status of my review.

Finally, the Special Counsel regulations provide that “the Attorney General may determine that public release of” this notification “would be in the public interest.” 28 C.F.R. 600.9(c) I have so determined, and I will disclose this letter to the public after delivering it to you.

Sincerely,

William P. Barr

Attorney General

It was always a HOAX.

It was spread w millions of dollars through a massive network of hack journalists who became conspiracy theorists & partisan operatives.

It was indulged by lunatics who didn’t care about what would happen if they accused a president of being a traitor.

The rumors you are believing is White House spin.

You believe that there was no collusion, or objection of justice.

We don't know that yet.

Crazy is as crazy does.

You're ignoring that the President may declare executive privilege and try again to block the release of the investigation. If he does that, you will go Crazy is as crazy does, and support him.

No further indictments is not a conclusion, because the Southern District of Investigation has not yet concluded there are no more indictments.

The report must be released.

I'm not jumping to any conclusions, unlike our formerly esteemed host.

On behalf of Republicans for the Rule of Law: We’re grateful to all who’ve stood with us in the fight to protect the Special Counsel’s investigation and ensure the integrity of the report. And we’re very grateful to Robert Mueller and his team for their hard work and patriotism.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has submitted his report to Attorney General William Barr for review, which means he has completed his investigation into the Trump campaign's ties to Russian operatives during the election. Barr will now determine whether to release the report to the American people.

We must demand that: 1) The American people have access to the full report. 2) All of Mueller's records are preserved. 3) Congress has unfiltered access to all of the findings to conduct their own oversight. We can't afford to settle for anything less.

No collusion, deal with it. Now you don't have to wait for the next "bombshell" or "shoe to drop". Stop being chicken little.

Roger

No indictments means no indictments.

If there were any new indictments regarding collusion or obstruction, then Mueller would be obviously required to handle those. Only those issues that did not directly deal with his probe are going to be turned over to other prosecutors.

No collusion Roger.

It's reality now.

Suck it up, buttercup.

Accept it.

Schiff said he had actually seen proof of collusion and he constantly leaked out-of-context reports from behind closed doors meetings.

I guess Mueller needed to have called him to testify.

What a POS he is.

The Wall Street journal reported that the probe is far from being over.

1: It is very possible that he didn't want to pursue an indictment against the President, because of DOJ standards make indicting the President is possibly illegal.

2: The Wall Street Journal reported that this is not the closing ceremony!

The conclusion of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation leaves in its wake about a dozen other probes into President Trump and his associates by an array of federal, state and congressional investigators.

The Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office continues to investigate matters related to the hush-money payments to women that former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen arranged during the 2016 campaign, according to a court filing in February. Mr. Cohen pleaded guilty to nine federal crimes, including two campaign-finance violations tied to the hush payments, and has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Manhattan federal prosecutors also are investigating Mr. Trump’s inaugural committee. In February their office sent a subpoena to the committee seeking documents related to, among other matters, any foreign donations to the fund and any communications about payments made directly by donors to vendors, which would flout disclosure rules.

The prosecutors last year opened a criminal investigation into how the committee raised and spent more than $100 million on 2017 inauguration festivities, according to people familiar with the matter.

The inaugural committee also has received subpoenas from the New Jersey and District of Columbia attorneys general. The committee has said it is reviewing the subpoenas and intends to cooperate.

Meantime, the Trump Organization, Mr. Trump’s family business, remains under scrutiny by state and federal prosecutors. Mr. Trump still owns the company but turned over its management to his sons Donald Jr. and Eric while he is in the White House.

In the charging documents against Mr. Cohen, Manhattan federal prosecutors wrote that Trump Organization executives were involved in reimbursing Mr. Cohen for one of the hush-money payments.

Mr. Cohen in his testimony before the House Oversight Committee in February said the Trump Organization’s longtime chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, was involved in every step of the payments and in subsequent efforts to cover them up. Mr. Weisselberg’s lawyer has declined to comment on Mr. Cohen’s testimony.

In early March, the New York state Department of Financial Services subpoenaed the Trump Organization’s longtime insurance broker, Aon PLC, for documents and internal communications pertaining to its dealings with Mr. Trump’s businesses, according to a person familiar with the matter. The Trump Organization hasn’t commented on the investigation.

The New York attorney general’s office, meantime, has a pending lawsuit against the Donald J. Trump Foundation, Mr. Trump’s family foundation, that accuses the organization of violating state laws that govern charities, including allegedly spending money to influence the 2016 election. Mr. Trump’s lawyers have called the suit politically motivated. The charity said it would dissolve under a judge’s supervision late last year.

In mid-March, the Manhattan district attorney filed charges against Mr. Trump’s former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, accusing him of mortgage fraud. He has already been sentenced by two federal judges, in Virginia and Washington, D.C., to serve a total of 7 1/2 years in prison on other charges.

Federal prosecutors, meanwhile, are investigating whether $100,000 donated to a Trump-related political fundraising committee originated from a fugitive Malaysian businessman indicted in a global financial scandal. The committee, the Trump Victory committee, is a joint financing committee for the 2020 presidential election involving the Trump campaign, the Republican National Committee and a number of state Republican parties.

While Mueller plans no further indictments, it's unclear how much assurance that offers to individuals who may have been the subject of inquiries that Mueller spun off to other prosecutors.

Or just for thought. The final report may contain evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors, as decided by the house judiciary committee.

It may contain evidence of events that may not be a violation of a law. That's why we have to wait and see what the final report contains.

At least for now, you might want to just relax, have a beer and hope that my ideas are incorrect.
