The myth of the 100 suspicious contacts

No, Robert Mueller did not uncover over a hundred suspicious contacts

Like a weed that grows back regardless of how many times you dig it out at the root, the myth that Robert Mueller uncovered over a hundred suspicious contacts between the Trump campaign and the Russian criminals will just not die. Part of the problem (and possibly part of the design) of a 440 page report is that 99.99% of the general public will never read it. That allows partisan politicians and corrupt media types to misrepresent whatever they want, with the insulated knowledge that their allegations will not likely be fact check by the average American.

If people bothered to read the report, they would know the truth. That the hundred plus contacts were not "uncovered" and that the lion's share of them were not suspicious in the least. What they were was a list of any known contacts from anyone loosely associated with the Trump campaign and anyone known or suspected as having some ties to the Russian government or Russian intelligence. These contacts include Carter Page delivering a speech in Russia, the Trump Organization negotiating with Russian businesses (and government) regarding possible real estate deals, Paul Manafort's contacts with business associates (or even employees), and garden variety discussions between the Trump transition team and Russian diplomats.

The idea wasn't that these were suspicious contacts.

The idea was that it would be up to Special Counsel to determine whether or not any of these contacts would be considered suspicious, nefarious, or criminal. In some cases, the probe was not even able to confirm that the Russian contact even had any ties to the Russian Government or the Russian intelligence at all. In other cases, the contacts were completely normal contacts that had nothing to even do with the election. But most importantly, there was no examples of any of these contacts being tied to the actual groups assumed responsible for the criminal Russian interference.

The reality is that the myth of a 100 suspicious is a ploy by sore loser liberals who were wishing and praying for a report that would incriminate the Trump campaign, and quite possibly the President himself. When the report didn't tell them what they wanted it to, they simply misrepresented the report.
