Dumb Democrats and Loser Liberals never learn

So apparently if there was anything we can garner out of the idea that five separate investigations over nearly three years (including a Special Counsel that had unlimited funding and unlimited time) it's that the findings of all of this seems to have gone right into one ear of the average liberal and right back out the other. It's as if they want to continue to believe that their "allegations" are true, even when five separate investigations have either failed to confirm, or flat out told them that they were wrong.

Sentenced to death for talking to Russians

Very specifically, let's address a hot button subject for many liberals. The sort of subject that will immediately raise their collective blood pressure, and cast their emotional well being into a state of disarray. Of course, I am talking about the infamous event commonly referred to as the "Trump Tower Meeting". In liberal lore, this event is often times compared to such events as the crucifixion of Jesus, the Nazi inspired holocaust, the Columbine shootings, the Manson family crimes, Ted Bundy serial murders, and Richard Nixon's watergate break in. In reality it was a meeting between members of the Trump campaign, and an attorney from Russian who claimed to have evidence that Clinton was funneling illegal monetary contributions from Russia into her campaign. The attorney turned out to be a lobbyist with no actual information, whose intentions was to push a policy to the campaign in case they ultimately won.

But therein lies the ultimate trouble with the liberal logic. Both the FBI, and Special Counsel had full access to all of the information regarding this meeting. Neither the FBI or Special Counsel actually found this meeting to be a violation of the law, otherwise one entity or the other would have charged the Trump campaign with whatever crime it would have been. The problem (of course) is what sort of can of worms would be opened if every contact a campaign had with someone from another country was subject to possible criminal liability? The idea (when judged generically to all former and future campaigns) is ludicrous. Making a determination that it illegal for someone to talk to another person (including non-United States citizens) would be a constitutional issue that could never past judicial muster.

But this was the rabbit hole that many on the left wants us to follow them down. The idea that we can just redefine new crimes as they pop up, at least as it pertains to the Trump administration. Certainly there is no real logical reason why what Trump Jr or Jared Kushner did in meeting with a Russian lawyer would be considered illegal, but paying a British Operative to meet with Russians to dig up dirt is not? But this won't stop liberals from allowing this ridiculous notion to fry their brains.

So why are the Liberal loonies all bent out of shape when the President states that he would listen if a foreign entity came to him with information? Don't liberals realize that they have already been proven wrong by their allegations that such behavior is criminal and would lead to everyone associated with the Trump campaign being frogmarched from the White House? Of course not. Liberals are too pigheaded about this and too consumed with TDS to see the reality.

It's like we went through five investigations over a three year period... and the looney left learned nothing from any of  it.

He believes that foreign intervention into the election system is acceptable.

President Trump on Wednesday said he would consider accepting information on his political opponents from a foreign government, despite the concerns raised by the intelligence community and special counsel Robert S. Mueller III over Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

In an Oval Office interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Trump also said he wouldn’t necessarily alert the FBI if a foreign country approached his campaign with “oppo research” about his Democratic challenger.

“I think you might want to listen; there isn’t anything wrong with listening,” Trump said. “If somebody called from a country, Norway, ‘We have information on your opponent,’ oh, I think I’d want to hear it.”

When Stephanopoulos asked the president whether he’d want that kind of “interference” in American politics, Trump pushed back on the word.

“It’s not an interference, they have information — I think I’d take it,” Trump said. “If I thought there was something wrong, I’d go maybe to the FBI, if I thought there was something wrong.”

The director of the FBI said under oath that anyone who is approached by a foreign power that he should call the FBI.

Trump said Raey was wrong!

Dirt from a former MI6 agent is not the same thing as getting dirt from the Russians.

Some people have cognitive dissonance upon this President.

Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who has positioned himself as a close ally of the President, said it was a "mistake" to accept such information from foreign influences, which he described as "growing not lessening."

"If a foreign government comes to you as a public official and offers to help your campaign, giving you anything of value — whether it be money or information on your opponent — the right answer is no," Graham told reporters on Capitol Hill.

When asked by ABC whether his campaign would accept information from foreign countries like China or Russia, or notify the FBI, Trump said, "I think maybe you do both."

Republicans who are attempting to spin this is nothing unusual. Some people have lost any perspective into the actions of the President. One of them is running wild with deep state conspiracy theories about the dossier as the only reason for the investigation into the Russian intervention into the election.

He is willing to contradict any of the intelligence agencies and the FBI about the Russian intervention because he believes what Putin said in Helsinki. And the report that Kim Jong Ung had killed members of his administration because he got a wonderful letter from Kim!

First, I believe that it should be practice for all public officials who are contacted by a foreign government with an offer of assistance to their campaign – either directly or indirectly – to inform the FBI and reject the offer.I made this point to FBI Director Wray during his confirmation hearings.

But this has not been recent practice and we saw that come to a head during the 2016 presidential campaign.

During that race, we had a major American political party hire a foreign national, Christopher Steele, to dig up dirt on an American presidential candidate. As if that was not bad enough, the foreign national compiled an unverified dossier that was then used by the FBI to obtain a warrant against an American citizen and surveil an American presidential campaign.
It has also come to light that the foreign national had a well-known political bias, was doing everything in his power to harm an American candidate’s electoral chances, and sought to directly influence who the American people elected as their next president.

American electoral campaigns should be run by, for, and decided by the American people.

Foreign influence in our electoral process is and has been a problem. One of the corrective actions that I am pursuing is to ensure that foreign political operatives cannot be allowed to manipulate the American political system.

Changes of this nature will serve our democracy well.

Finally, the outrage some of my Democratic colleagues are raising about President Trump’s comments will hopefully be met with equal outrage that their own party hired a foreign national to do opposition research on President Trump’s campaign and that information, unverified, was apparently used by the FBI to obtain a warrant against an American citizen.

Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff appears to have reversed his position on the ethics of using “stolen” information against political foes.

“It’s not OK to use materials they stole from your opponent, or to make it part of your campaign strategy,” Schiff tweeted on Sunday.

Schiff was responding to a Sunday morning interview during which Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani argued that, while he would have advised against it, “There’s nothing wrong with taking information from Russians.” (RELATED: Giuliani To Romney: ‘Stop This Pious Act’)

But when “the Russians” contacted Schiff in 2017, offering him information that they promised would prove compromising to President Donald Trump, he had a very different reaction.

Two Russian comedians, known as Vocan and Lexus, placed a prank call to Schiff pretending to be Andriy Parubiy, the chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament. They claimed to have recordings proving that Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an effort to force Trump to relax sanctions, was blackmailing the president with photographs of him and a model named Olga Buzova.

Schiff responded by asking, “What’s the nature of the kompromat?”

After being told that there were naked photos of Trump and the Russian model, Schiff instructed members of his staff to follow up — which they did, attempting to set up a meeting with Parubiy in order to move forward.

Schiff aide Rheanne Wirkkala emailed Vocan and Lexus to follow up:

I understand Mr. Schiff had a productive call with Mr. Parubiy, and that Mr. Parubiy would like to make some material available to Mr. Schiff through your embassy.

Vocan and Lexus provided a copy of that email to The Daily Mail, at which point Schiff and his staffers claimed that they had known it was a hoax all along. They did not address questions regarding their decision to follow up on the call if they were aware that it was a prank.

President Trump says he might accept dirt from another country on his potential Democratic rivals if offered, raising new questions and concerns about foreign influence on American elections.

"It's not an interference, they have information — I think I'd take it," Trump said. "If I thought there was something wrong, I'd go maybe to the FBI — if I thought there was something wrong."

Trump made the comments in an Oval Office interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos, after being pressed about the Trump Tower meeting in June 2016 with Russians and Trump officials. Ahead of that meeting, which former special counsel Robert Mueller probed, the Trump campaign was offered damaging information on Trump's opponent, Hillary Clinton.

In the ABC interview, the president claimed information offered by a foreign government is the equivalent to "oppo research" that's traditional in American political campaigns. However, such information does not typically come from foreign powers that may be seeking to impact the election results and sow discord — as Russia did in 2016. Trump's own handpicked FBI Director Christopher Wray has said the FBI should be informed of such gestures.

"I'll tell you what, I've seen a lot of things over my life. I don't think in my whole life I've ever called the FBI. In my whole life. You don't call the FBI. You throw somebody out of your office, you do whatever you do," Trump said. "Oh, give me a break — life doesn't work that way."

Trump also said he might both accept the information and call the FBI. But the president was clear he disagreed with comments Wray made to Congress just last month that "if any public official or member of any campaign is contacted by any nation state or anybody acting on behalf of a nation state about influencing or interfering with our election, then that is something the FBI would want to know about it."

"The FBI director is wrong, because frankly it doesn't happen like that in life," Trump said. "Now maybe it will start happening, maybe today you'd think differently."

On Wednesday, Donald Trump Jr. returned for a second interview before the Senate Intelligence Committee about the 2016 meeting that he and members of the Trump campaign, including White House adviser and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, attended. Lawmakers subpoenaed Trump Jr. because of discrepancies between his testimony and that of other witnesses in the Russia investigation. Trump Jr. said afterward that there was no need to amend his previous testimony.

Trump advisers have defended the meeting. Asked whether he would call the FBI if the situation repeated itself, Kushner told Axios earlier this month: "I don't know. It's hard to do hypotheticals, but the reality is is that we were not given anything that was salacious." Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani told CNN in April that "there's nothing wrong with taking information from Russians."

After Trump's comments Wednesday evening, former CIA Director John Brennan — a frequent Trump critic the president has often bashed — tweeted that this was simply more evidence that the president is "an existential threat" to the U.S., as Biden has alleged during his campaign for the Democratic nomination.

I am rolling in my grave!

yup. the amount of democrat hypocrisy on this issue exceeds normal levels. but it sure is fun to watch the usual suspects around here go full-on batshit.

Whether or not if Clinton did the same thing.

so there's your hypocritical qualifier, folks.

over the past 24 hours or so since trump made his remarks, i've seen and heard a cavalcade of democrat asshats cry "no one is above the law."

no one except the clinton's, 20+ MILLION criminal illegal aliens, and any democrat who happens to run afoul of the law for any reason whatsoever. joo-hating omar from little mogadishu can marry her brother, and some other guy and file joint tax returns without fear of prosecution. let a republican pull that shit and they're under indictment within an hour.

the left is setting some interesting precedents over the course of this administration, and it will be interesting to see those precedents turned on them in the future.

Above the Law

BIDEN/Obimbo and the use of the Office of the Pres and VP to protect from prosecution Biden's Son.
Then get Biden's Son a multi million dollar payday for a job he was not capable of doing.

Fucking asshole post a fraudulent tweet as facts Regan like Breitbart is long dead!!!.....Like you and the asshole of Mn keep forgetting.....The Steele dossier was originally funded by The Washington Free Beacon and that Steele when he found compromising data reported it to the FBI.......!!!!!! False equivalency is all your desperate mind can muster!!!!! The biggest asshat is Mitch and his cheating wife who just made a windfall on some stocks she manipulated to her advantage.....and not a fucking peep....!!!

I do remember your histrionics when Hillary was accused of the same thing.....NOW NOTHING BECAUSE YOU SUPPORT TRUMP AND HIS CRIMINAL ACTS!!!!!
U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell are in bed with each other, and not just as husband and wife.

New revelations of official coziness are a huge problem for Chao, whose leadership of the infrastructure-building agency was already on a shaky foundation. Unless she can explain a slew of suspect decisions, and do it quick, she must step down.

Monday, Politico reported that Chao designated a dedicated liaison to help Kentucky and only Kentucky _ the state represented by her powerful spouse _ with infrastructure grants.

Not California, with more people and needs than anyplace else. Not New York, the economic capital, with aging tunnels and bridges. Just the Bluegrass State.

So just as McConnell was gearing up for re-election, Kentucky won nearly $80 million in approved grants, including a highway-improvement project that had been previously rejected twice. Convenient.

This obscene use of political power puts in sharp focus other curious episodes during Chao's tenure.

The New York Times reported that in a 2017 proposed trip to China, Chao _ whose family runs an American shipping company with extensive business in China _ attempted to have Beijing Embassy staff coordinate travel for at least one family member and have other relatives sit in on meetings with Chinese government officials.

So you are saying she broke the law, and since the statutes of limitations have not passed... should she be prosecuted?

Or is it simply a law we don't prosecute?

Federal Election Commission Chairwoman Ellen Weintraub released a statement Thursday making clear that candidates for public office may not receive help from a foreign government, in what appeared to be a warning to President Trump, who said he would consider taking information about an opponent from another country.

Tweeting her statement, Weintraub wrote, “I would not have thought that I needed to say this.”

The head of the agency responsible for campaign finance laws clarified that any campaign that accepts help from a foreign government “risks being on the wrong end of a federal investigation.”

“Let me make something 100% clear to the American public and anyone running for public office,” Weintraub wrote. “It is illegal for any person to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a U.S. election. This is not a novel concept.”

Weintraub put out the statement 24 hours after Trump told ABC News on Wednesday night that he would not necessarily report to law enforcement if a foreign national offered him political information.

Criminals at all levels of the trump dynasty....and you all keep slurping!!!!

The New York Times reported that in a 2017 proposed trip to China, Chao _ whose family runs an American shipping company with extensive business in China _ attempted to have Beijing Embassy staff coordinate travel for at least one family member and have other relatives sit in on meetings with Chinese government officials.

Last month, the Wall Street Journal revealed that Chao made $40,000 profiting from sale of stock in the country's largest construction materials supplier _ stock she had promised to divest from a year ago.

At this point, we're too exhausted to muster much surprise at the discovery of this type of behavior in the Trump Cabinet. But we're not tired enough to take it laying down.
