Trump has admitted that he would consider taking help from a foreign power in order to help his reelection campaign. With comments like this the President of the United States is essentially inviting foreign powers to interfere in our democracy for his own political gain.

I never thought I would see the day.

And maybe we can make major reductions to CO2 that will even be acceptable to low intellect posters here!!!

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2019/06/12/new-plan-remove-trillion-tons-carbon-dioxide-atmosphere-bury-it/?utm_term=.b9c5d489740c

By Laura Reiley June 12 at 12:39 PM
Last month, carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere surpassed 415 parts per million, the highest in human history. Environmental experts say the world is increasingly on a path toward a climate crisis.

The most prominent efforts to prevent that crisis involve reducing carbon emissions. But another idea is also starting to gain traction — sucking all that carbon out of the atmosphere and storing it underground.

It sounds like an idea plucked from science fiction, but the reality is that trees and plants already do it, breathing carbon dioxide and then depositing it via roots and decay into the soil. That’s why consumers and companies often “offset” their carbon emissions by planting carbon-sucking trees elsewhere in the world.

But an upstart company, Boston-based Indigo AG, now wants to transform farming practices so that agriculture becomes quite the opposite of what it is today — a major source of greenhouse gas emissions.

“Creative resistance has been a quintessential part of the American experience,” author Jeff Biggers.

By promoting techniques that increase the potential of agricultural land to suck in carbon, the backers of Indigo AG believe they can set the foundation for a major effort to stem climate change. On Wednesday, the company announced a new initiative with the ambitious goal of removing 1 trillion tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere by paying farmers to modify their practices.

Called the Terraton Initiative (a “teraton” is a trillion tons), the company forecasts that the initiative will sign up 3,000 farmers

Hedrick says that in 2018, an American farmer on average lost about $60 per acre before subsidies, and made just $20 per acre after federal subsidies. So, if a farmer can put a ton and a half of carbon in each acre of soil and get paid by Indigo, they could double their profits.

“For me, that would be $22 per acre, and we farm close to 1,000 acres,” he said. “This is $22,000 for doing what I’m already doing. That’s pretty huge to me as a farmer.”

Hedrick, a first-generation farmer, learned these practices from books and online videos from regenerative farmers. He doesn’t till or plow, and he plants a cover crop within 10 days of harvesting a cash crop like corn or soy, mostly small grains with roots that can go down six feet and reduce soil compaction and help retain moisture

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A federal judge awarded a Muslim-American radio host $4.1 million in monetary damages Wednesday after he successfully sued a neo-Nazi website operator who falsely accused him of terrorism.

SiriusXM Radio show host Dean Obeidallah filed the civil complaint against The Daily Stormer founder Andrew Anglin, who hasn't responded to Obeidallah's libel lawsuit. Anglin's whereabouts are unclear.

Last month, U.S. District Court Judge Edmund Sargus Jr. agreed to enter a default judgment against Anglin and his company, Moonbase Holdings LLC. Sargus announced the award after a Wednesday morning hearing.

The judge said he was convinced nothing in Anglin's statements were protected speech under the First Amendment. He also issued an injunction ordering the materials about Obeidallah taken down from the website and forbidding Anglin from discussing them further.

Throughout the 2016 US election AFP is meeting some of the Americans who make up the many Voices of the Campaign. Dean Obeidallah is the only Muslim-American in the country with a nationally-broadcast radio program. He uses his show and his stand-up comedy to take aim at Donald Trump, and said that the Democratic Convention speech of Khizr Khan, who lost his son in Iraq and has been criticized by Trump, moved him to tears.
During the hearing, Obeidallah explained the shock he felt after Anglin published an article about him in June 2017, alleging that he was responsible for the May 2017 terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester in England.

In his lawsuit, Obeidallah alleged the site embedded fabricated messages in the post to make them seem like they had been sent from Obeidallah's Twitter account, tricking readers into believing he took responsibility for the Manchester attack. That mix of real and fake tweets made the article all the more insidious, Obeidallah testified Wednesday.

Trump Just Invited Impeachment Proceeding

George Conway and Neil Katyal: “Much ink has been spilled about whether President Trump committed a criminal and impeachable offense by obstructing justice. That question deserves extensive debate, but another critical question — the ultimate question, really — is not whether he committed a crime but whether he is even fit for office in the first place. And that question — the heart of an impeachment inquiry — turns upon whether the president abuses his power and demonstrates an unfitness to serve under the defining principles of our Constitution.”

“On Tuesday, Trump gave us direct evidence of his contempt toward the most foundational precept of our democracy — that no person, not even the president, is above the law. He filed a brief in the nation’s second-most-important court that takes the position that Congress cannot investigate the president, except possibly in impeachment proceedings. It’s a spectacularly anti-constitutional brief, and anyone who harbors such attitudes toward our Constitution’s architecture is not fit for office. Trump’s brief is nothing if not an invitation to commencing impeachment proceedings that, for reasons set out in the Mueller report, should have already commenced.”

Jonathan Chait: “Trump continues to show every sign of hoping and expecting to benefit from foreign collusion in 2020. In May, he intended to send Rudy Giuliani to Ukraine to pressure the government to supply dirt on Joe Biden. He and his ally, Mitch McConnell, are blocking measures (including ones with bipartisan support) to help safeguard elections against foreign attacks and social media propaganda.”

“His message to Russia, or any other government that wants a close relationship with him, is obvious: do anything you can to help me win.”

Trump Gives Impeachment Crowd a Gift

Playbook: “President Trump’s admission that he would accept a foreign government’s assistance in an election — and might not report it to the FBI — is an absolutely stunning statement that would seem out of bounds to any and every reader of Playbook.”

“Far be it from us to divine why the president said this, and what exactly is going through his head. But the people we spoke to Wednesday night said it is rooted in a win-at-any-and-all-costs mentality — a life-is-complicated vibe that tries to paint everyone else as rubes, and yet ignores the guts of American law. Furthermore, it reflects his thinking that he hates the idea the 2016 election was stolen from him, so he tries to rationalize the very things he and his campaign stand accused of doing.”

“In our time covering Congress — going on a decade — we’ve never heard anyone ever even privately say they would accept foreign assistance in an election. Ever. And a lot of members have said crazy stuff to us privately!”

Hannity praises Trump's 'genius setup' against Dems, claims president setting trap with 'nonstory' about foreign info

Fox News' Sean Hannity supported President Trump's comments Wednesday that he would be willing to listen to a foreign government if they approached him with information on a political opponent, calling it a "genius setup" by the president.

"In many ways that was a genius setup because the media mob will fall right into his trap, breathlessly spewing fake, phony outrage over a nonstory for days," Hannity said during his monologue on "Hannity" on Wednesday night.

I'm more of the opinion that the politically inexperience president fell into a trap laid out by Stephanopoulous.

Insulin has become so unaffordable that Type 1 diabetics are pushed to take risks, like rationing and buying from strangers online. The video Op-Ed above reveals the lengths to which they go to get a nearly century-old drug and how Americans are dying from a perfectly manageable autoimmune disease. Patent laws and existing regulations allow the top three manufacturers to continuously increase prices without consequences.

Colorado has recently capped insulin co-payments, and Congress is actively investigating why the price of insulin is so high. Eli Lilly, one of the top three insulin makers, has also announced a half-price alternative to its top-selling product. But this is not enough: Insulin must be affordable and accessible to prevent more unnecessary deaths.

As a Type 1 diabetic for 47 years, I recall when the cost of a vial of insulin was $8. Now, here in the US, it ranges from $160- $400. While in Canada for a trip, I had a diabetes problem and bought a vial of Novorapid (Novolog) for $38, OTC. To Canadians, it's free. I returned to the US with a cooler and 8 more bottles, because $38 is less than the co-pay I have for my Novolog. And we pay 12k per year for our health insurance.

This issue illustrates "crony capitalism" at it's worst. If elected officials reject financial contributions by "big pharma" then they are not beholden to them. People are dying and law-makers, who are "investigating" (e.g. a code word in government, for doing nothing) are the direct financial recipients of our misery and human heart-break. How can a person live with themselves knowing this? How can persons elected to take care of us only care for themselves? Where did human empathy and decency go? When did it cease to become a part of America?

Americans Are Dying Because They Can't Afford Medicine
www.nationalmemo.com/americans-dying-cant-afford...
One example is the death of Shane Patrick Boyle, who died on March 18, 2017, of type 1 diabetes after his GoFundMe campaign to pay for the next month’s supply of the medicine fell short $50. Lack of insulin access is a life-or-death situation for people with type 1 diabetes, and some with type 2 diabetes.
