During an interview Wednesday, Brennan said he is "supposedly" going to be interviewed by John Durham, the U.S. attorney tasked with leading the review. Brennan said by all accounts Durham is a man of "integrity" but added Barr has proven himself to be the "president's attorney."
"Given that Barr is now accompanying Durham on these things, it really makes me think that the hand of politics and of Trump are now being used to massage what this ongoing review quasi-investigation is. So I am concerned," Brennan said on MSNBC.
The only real reason that Brennan should be concerned is if there really is a "there" there. Unless Barr finds smoking gun evidence of a coup, the liberal mainstream media will continue to ignore everything "other" than the idea that William Barr is some sort of monster. Heck, Barr could probably even find smoking gun evidence of a coup, and the liberal MSM will still back Brennan and gang.
Apparently Barr met with officials in Rome and apparently was able to listen to a secret recording of Joseph Mifsud, who was the person who the FBI has stated was instrumental in starting the whole Russian probe. Mifsud, if we all recall, was the person who approached George Papadapoulos, claiming he had information (from the Russians) on Hillary Clinton. Papadapoulos repeated this information to another person, which the FBI claims prompted the entire investigation into the hoax Russian/Trump conspiracy investigation that came up empty.
Some believe that Mifsud was working with our own government from the beginning, and that the meeting with Papadopoulos was a set up orchestrated by certain people within our own intelligence agencies.
We might find it interesting that Mifsud has since gone dark, applied for police protection in Italy, and is claiming that certain people are looking to possibly harm him. Apparently he is afraid that he "knows too much" about something. The secret tape is thought to be in regards to what he apparently might know and why certain people are trying to prevent him from revealing things.
We'll see where this goes.

Trump calls for Ukraine, China to investigate Bidens; former Ukraine envoy testifies on Capitol Hill.
His staff is worried, because he is acting without consulting with his staff and other advisers.
It's pretty obvious.
Mr. Barr has been acting as the personal lawyer for the President.
Your comment is simply amazing.
Even if Barr could probably even find smoking gun evidence of a coup..
Which is a violent military action against a person or government. Your use of the term "coup" is more evidence that you are not thinking independently, and just echoing the President of his angry outbursts over the last few days. He feels that the walls are crumbling around him. His attempt to stonewall the house investigation, is crumbling as they issue subpoenas.
During the Benghazi investigation, then congressman Bannon was aggressively seeking testimony from the aides to then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Now instead he is claiming that his staff should not be allowed to testify to the house judiciary committee on the impeachment of the President. This is an attempt to stretch out the timeline into next year's election process.
Trump is dragging his staff and cabinet officials into the swamp. It won't bold well for them. They could be subject charges of contempt. They could actually be subject to arrest.
We will see..
"We'll see where this goes."
Since the President is sending people to further discredit the Muller investigation, he must be worried that the investigation into the Russian intervention into the election, is still bothering him and his cabinet members, who have sworn loyalty to the President.
We will see..
The Drudge Report headlines look like the fake media headlines.
And even Twitter is becoming the fake news.
Twitter removed a viral meme posted by President Trump which highlighted Joe Biden’s duplicity on his son’s business dealings in response to a claim by the copyright owner.
The meme showed Biden denying that he had ever spoken to his son Hunter about the latter’s overseas business dealings.
The clip then cuts to a Nickelback video with the lyrics, “Look at this photograph, every time I do it makes me laugh.”
A photograph of Biden, his son Hunter, and a man identified as a “Ukraine gas exec” on a golf course together appears on screen with hearts drawn around their heads.
Even worse fake news Robotics.
Americans by a 45%-38% plurality now support a vote by the House of Representatives to impeach President Donald Trump, a USA TODAY/Ipsos Poll finds, as allegations continue to swirl around an embattled White House.
By a similar margin, 44%-35%, those surveyed say the Senate, which would then be charged with holding a trial of the president, should convict Trump and remove him from office.
The survey of 1,006 adults, taken Tuesday and Wednesday, underscores the perilous situation the president finds himself in as House committees subpoena documents and prepare to hear testimony into accusations that he pressured the leader of Ukraine to investigate a political rival, then tried to hide the account of their phone conversation.
Trump, who has released a rough transcript of his July 25 call with the president of Ukraine, says the conversation was "perfect" and that there was no wrongdoing. On Tuesday, he lashed out during a White House news conference, referring to the inquiry as a "hoax."
Whistleblower: A patriot or traitor?
In the poll, views were mixed about the whistleblower who originally reported concerns about Trump's phone call with the Ukrainian president. Seventy-one percent of Democrats call that person "a patriot"; just 10% call him or her "a traitor," a label Trump has used. The president hasn't yet convinced a majority of members of his own party that the description fits, though.
Among Republicans, 36% call the whistleblower "a traitor," but 21% say he or she is a patriot. The largest number, 43%, say they don't know.
What about that call?: Analyzing the Trump-Ukraine 'transcript' in 3 charts
A majority of Americans are knowledgeable about some of the particulars of the impeachment process: 56% know that impeachment begins in the House; 55% know that an impeachment vote in itself doesn't remove a president from office; 62% know that a two-thirds majority in the Senate would be needed to do that.
However, most Americans don't realize that would be an unprecedented step. Fifty-one percent say American presidents have been removed from office by impeachment in the past. While two presidents have been impeached by the House, neither Andrew Johnson nor Bill Clinton was convicted by the Senate. A third president, Richard Nixon, resigned in the face of near-certain impeachment and conviction.
Few Americans, just 3%, predict that Trump will voluntarily resign before the end of his first term; 15% expect him to be removed through impeachment. One-third of those surveyed, 33%, say he will remain serve out his first term as president. Another 29% predict that he will not only do that but also win a second term.
The online poll has a credibility interval of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

President Trump’s approval ticked up to 49 percent — its highest mark this year, according to a new Hill-HarrisX survey released on Wednesday.
The figure marks a 2-point increase from a Sept. 11-12 poll, but a 2-point decrease from its previous peak of 51 percent last August.
Trump's disapproval rating, meanwhile, dropped to 51 percent, which marks his lowest level so far this year.

Remember how Rosenstein was meekly standing behind Barr in the Mueller report press conference and had agreed with Barr statement and presentation?
I wouldn't be surprised Barr already knew all this and had "flipped" Rosenstein. Guess we'll soon find out enough.
And looks like roger is sweating more than anyone, and there is a WHOLE LOT of democrat sweating going on. Maybe Barr will offer someone else immunity ..hmmm. IG report coming soon and DNC and MSM media in panic.

"There were pictures of naked Trump," one of the pranksters told Schiff, explaining that they were obtained by Putin's goddaughter.
Schiff asks: "And the materials you can provide to the committee and to the FBI, would they corroborate this allegation? ... So you have recordings... where they're discussing the compromising material?"
"Obviously we would welcome the chance to get copies of those recordings," Schiff tells them. "So we will try to work with the FBI to try to figure out how we can take copies of those... I'll be in touch with the FBI about this, and we'll make arrangements with your staff. I think it would be best to provide these materials to both our committee and the FBI. We'll make arrangements between my staff and yours on how to facilitate that."

An official familiar with the testimony of State Dept. official Kurt Volker describes the testimony as a “setback” for Schiff’s impeachment efforts.
So far, Volker’s testimony “does nothing to advance Chairman Schiff’s theory of the case,” the official says.
Maybe people are trying to find a way out of this charade and not advance it further, we'll see how Schiff characterizes it. Or maybe "players" are getting cold feet given all the immediate pushback. We shall see

Off the Rails

Aaron Blake: “The idea that President Trump has finally gone over the edge is an overwrought journalistic genre. Oftentimes, people simply forget all that has come before when they declare him to be particularly unwieldy or off the rails at a particular moment. And his opponents are far too anxious to find examples of Trump finally reaching a threshold that suggests he has completely thrown caution to the wind and may be just giving up.
“All of that said, it has been some week for Trump — even by his standards.”

Jonathan Chait:
“Donald Trump is being impeached for using his office to pressure foreign countries to investigate his political rivals. It is not clear Trump understands that, because he simply continues committing this offense in broad daylight.
“In remarks to reporters today, Trump was asked what he wants Ukraine to do about the Bidens. He replied, ‘If they were honest about it, they would start a major investigation into the Bidens.’ While elaborating on his answer, he added that he would also suggest China launch an investigation of the Biden family.
“Of course, the idea that any American citizens should be subject to the Chinese justice system is absurd. The only possible way Trump could desire such an investigation would be if he believes China would fix the outcome in order to win his favor.”

I keep seeing stories about how Trump is glum and bitterly lashing out behind the scenes, but every time he's appeared in public the past few days he looks like he's having fun trolling the media and Democrats.

"By now it's clear that the Democrats have made one of the first great political blunders of the 21st century by trying to impeach the president of the United States based on a half-understood rumor.
If the groundswell of small-dollar donations flowing into the Trump campaign's coffers offers any indication, the Democrats are going to pay a terrible price for indulging the demands of their radical base. The Republican National Committee and the Trump campaign raked in a $13 million haul within 36 hours of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s embarrassingly vague announcement of a “formal impeachment inquiry.”

I believe it was the last time our intelligence agencies decided without any evidence (other than paid for opposition research) to declare that a President was conspiring with a hostile country, then orchestrate a fake special counsel who would spend 22 months telling us that they actually couldn't prove a damned thing that they alleged.at
