Big poll in Texas!

UT/TT POLL
Who would get your vote in a Democratic primary today?
  • Bernie Sanders 24%
  • Joseph R. Biden 22%
  • Elizabeth Warren 15%
  • Michael R. Bloomberg 10%
  • Pete Buttigieg 7%
  • Andrew Yang* 6%
  • Amy Klobuchar 3%
  • Tom Steyer 3%
  • Tulsi Gabbard 2%
  • Others 8%

Obviously Yang has dropped out and we would have to see where his meager supporters go. I would fully expect that Gabbard will be done before then.

But there is a decent chance that at least Biden will around to join Sanders, Buttigieg, Bloomberg, and Steyer who are all four pretty much committed and have the funds to continue at least through Super Tuesday. Warren and Klobuchar are wild cards at this point.

The reality is that Texas is the second biggest Super Tuesday state behind California (which Sanders has been leading in the polling). If both California and Texas hold for Sanders, it would be almost impossible for him to be behind in delegates coming "out" of Super Tuesday.

Moreover, it's polling like this that will likely convince Slow Joe to stick around in the race and muddy things up for the rest of the "moderate" lane, harming Buttigieg and Bloomberg who are both hoping and praying that he gets out before Tuesday. Slow Joe will probably be convinced by most of his fans that he has a good shot at winning a brokered convention, which might not be entirely untrue all things considered.

Sorry, CH, but;
Trump's 'Deep State' conspiracy theory just took a big hit
Chris Cillizza CNN Editor-at-large

(CNN)President Donald Trump is deeply invested in the idea that there is a "Deep State" embedded within the government bureaucracy -- and centered in the Department of Justice -- which actively worked to defeat him in 2016 and then sought to undermine him once he won the presidency.DEEP STATE PARANOIA

That conspiracy theory, which has never had much merit, suffered a near-fatal blow Friday afternoon when the Department of Justice declined to pursue criminal charges against former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe. (McCabe is a CNN contributor.)

That decision ends a nearly-two-year investigation into whether McCabe, in his role as a senior official in the FBI, lied to investigators about conversations he had with reporters. McCabe had long insisted that if he had done so it had been purely accidental, and noted that, in his role, he was authorized to speak to the media.

Trump spent much of the investigation dumping on McCabe, a man who he insisted was, along with former FBI director James Comey, at the center of the "Deep State" conspiracy against him.DEEP STATE PARANOIA

On the day McCabe was fired -- less than two days before his planned retirement from the bureau -- Trump tweeted this:
"Andrew McCabe FIRED, a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI - A great day for Democracy. Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy. He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!"DEEP STATE PARANOIA

And he kept at it -- month after month running through the names of his "Deep State" enemies and demanding legal action against them. Here's one example from last fall after former Trump adviser Roger Stone was convicted for lying in regard to his role in the Russian interference mess:
"So they now convict Roger Stone of lying and want to jail him for many years to come. Well, what about Crooked Hillary, Comey, Strzok, Page, McCabe, Brennan, Clapper, Shifty Schiff, Ohr & Nellie, Steele & all of the others, including even Mueller himself? Didn't they lie? A double standard like never seen before in the history of our Country?"DEEP STATE PARANOIA

Everywhere he went -- White House, campaign trail, even foreign countries, Trump would recite his list. (It reminded me of nothing so much as Arya Stark's list.) It was evidence, he clearly believed, of oodles of wrongdoing that, once exposed, would show how rotten to the core these people (and the institutions they led) really were.DEEP STATE PARANOIA

Except, not so much. Because NO ONE one on Trump's list HAS BEEN CRIMINALLY CHARGED. NOT ONE.

Sure, the anti-Trump text messages exchanged between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, two FBI ofificials involved in the counter-intelligence operation into Russia interference in 2016, were inappropriate. But the Department of Justice inspector general, in a report released late last year, made clear Strzok did nothing to unduly bias or influence the investigation. And that same IG report also made clear that while there were mistakes made in the investigation at the lower levels of the FBI in regard to applications for a FISA warrant, it also made clear that these errors were not part of any sort of broader attempt to target Trump or his campaign.

And now the news about McCabe.

Contrast that with this: The investigation into Russia meddling in the 2016 election led to 37 people and entities being charged, seven people pleading guilty and six people being sentenced to prison. That group includes a series of one-time close Trump advisers, including his campaign chairman Paul Manafort, his national security adviser Michael Flynn and his longtime confidante Michael Cohen.
Biiiiig difference, right? (And that's even before we get to the number of Republican senators who acknowledged Trump had engaged in a quid pro quo with Ukraine but who voted not to remove him from office because they didn't believe it to be an impeachable offense.)

None of these facts -- up to and including the DOJ's refusal to prosecute McCabe -- will convince Trump or his supporters that they were and are wrong. DEEP STATE PARANOIA But, make no mistake: The "Deep State" house of cards Trump built to distract from his own problems is collapsing, with the McCabe news Friday the latest structural blow to the crumbling edifice.

The fact that on the same week that the DOJ attempted to recommend 9 years for a 67 year old guy who lied to Congress over nothing...

The same DOJ decided NOT to charge one of their own who not only authorized the disclosure and leak of classified information, but lied about it to Federal investigators?

You except nobody popular with the mandarin class is ever charged with any crime even when there is plenty evidence they have committed a crime.

Considered Andrew McCabe. In the IG report there are not one but two documentaries incidences where he lied under oath.

James Clapper lied under oath to Congress so did John Brennan. This is the exact same crime that DOJ prosecutors want to put Roger Stone away for nine years. They were never even charged. In fact you are 99% more likely to be charge with lying to the FBI than to Congress.

And of course Hillary Clinton violated the espionage act, destroyed evidence, lied to Congress , and generally obstructed justice.

There are document history of gross insubordination and abuse of power at the DOJ, FBI, and the CIA.

So I would say there is evidence galore of a deep-state conspiracy. But it's more a conspiracy to cover their asses and take down a president dares to be president.

Former employee says he heard Bloomberg ask a female co-worker if she was going to 'kill it' after announcing her pregnancy

A former employee of Michael Bloomberg corroborated an accusation that the business mogul told a woman to "kill it" after she announced her pregnancy, according to The Washington Post.

Billionaire presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg once remarked that a pregnant employee at his company should "kill it" upon learning that she was pregnant, a former Bloomberg employee told The Washington Post.

While the particular allegation has previously been reported as it was the subject of a highly publicized lawsuit against Bloomberg in 1997, a former Bloomberg employee who wasn't involved in that lawsuit said he heard Bloomberg make the comments.

When word got to Bloomberg that Garrison had been upset by his comments, the CEO called her and left a lengthy voicemail claiming that she had misinterpreted his comments, according to notes taken by Garrison published by The Washington Post.

"When you have time, give me a buzz or stop by...I don't understand," Bloomberg said on a message he left for Garrison, according to the handwritten account. "I didn't even know you were pregnant until the other day...(another employee) said you were all upset...whatever you heard wasn't what I said and whatever I said had nothing to do with pregnancies...I couldn't be happier you are having a child…I apologize if there was something you heard but I didn't say it, didn't mean it, didn't say it."

"Virtually all of this has been reported over the past two decades," a Bloomberg spokesperson told Business Insider. "In any large organization, there are going to be complaints — but Mike simply does not tolerate any kind of discrimination or harassment, and he's created cultures that are all about equality and inclusion. In all the twenty-six years I have worked with him he has always hired and promoted women into senior leadership roles."

Donald Trump admits to paying for abortion

May 20, 2019
Washington—President Donald Trump asked a woman with whom he was having an extramarital affair in May of 2012, to get an abortion when he thought she might be pregnant, The Dallas Morning News reported Tuesday.

The paper said it obtained text messages between the president and the woman, who wrote on May 3 of that year: “Donny, you’ve been parading your pro-life stance all over the place but you had no issue asking me to abort our unborn child when you thought it would be bad for you.”

The president allegedly wrote back, “While I don’t think it’s mine, I really don’t. I can’t prove it, but I bet you’ve had a lot of sex. Anyway, I’ll send you a thou to get rid of it.”

In 2012, Donald Trump, not yet president, was married to Melania Trump and their son, Barron, was six.

No "allegedly" here:

Pro-abortion rights Trump
In the 1980s and 1990s, Trump — then best known for his real estate empire — was firm in his pro-abortion rights stance.

Trump's connection to abortion rights dates back to 1989, when he co-sponsored an event at the Trump-owned Plaza Hotel honoring Robin Chandler Duke, the president emeritus of the National Abortion Rights Action League. The New York Times reports that Trump did not attend the event himself, potentially due to death threats against Trump and his family that were called in by anti-abortion advocates.

In 1999, Trump explicitly expressed his pro-abortion rights views on Meet the Press, telling host Tim Russert that he was "very pro-choice."

"I hate the concept of abortion," Trump clarified, "I hate everything it stands for, I cringe when I listen to people debating the subject. But you still — I just believe in choice ... I am strongly for choice and yet I hate the concept of abortion."

When Russert pressed Trump on whether he would ban partial-birth abortion, Trump responded, "No. I am pro-choice in every respect, and as far as it goes, but I just hate it."

According to the Daily Intelligencer, Trump told reporters in 1999, "I want to see the abortion issue removed from politics. I believe it is a personal decision that should be left to the women and their doctors."

THE GUARDIAN
Trump dodges question over whether any past partners had abortions

Asked by Maureen Dowd whether he was ever involved with anyone who underwent procedure, Trump replies simply: ‘Such an interesting question. What's your next question?’

The controversy over Donald Trump’s stance on abortion took another turn on Saturday, when a New York Times interviewer wrote that the Republican presidential frontrunner appeared to avoid a question about whether any woman he had been involved with had undergone such a procedure.

Maureen Dowd referred to Trump’s suggestion this week that women who have abortions should be punished – a comment he swiftly retracted – when she wrote: “Given his draconian comment, sending women back to back alleys, I had to ask: When he was a swinging bachelor in Manhattan, was he ever involved with anyone who had an abortion?

‘Such an interesting question,’ he said. ‘So what’s your next question?’”

Trump made his initial remark on Wednesday, in an interview with MSNBC host Chris Matthews. Controversy ensued, highlighting the candidate’s extremely poor ratings with female voters of all political stripes.

Having retracted the remark, on Friday he rowed further back, telling John Dickerson of CBS: “The laws are set now on abortion and that’s the way they’re going to remain until they’re changed.”

Speaking to Dowd, he explained his suggestion that women having abortions should be punished by saying: “This was not real life … this was a hypothetical, so I thought of it in terms of a hypothetical. So that’s where that answer came from, hypothetically.”

Maureen Dowd asked Trump, "When you were a swinging bachelor in Manhattan, were you ever involved with anyone who had an abortion?"

Simple, straight forward question. So why did Trump hedge?
