When we looked at the new DNC debate qualification rules yesterday, the only outstanding question was whether Michael Bloomberg would get the last poll he needed to make it onto the stage or if we’d just wind up with the same five candidates we saw last time. That question was answered last night when a new Marist poll saw Mayor “Throw Them Up Against the Wall” surging to 19 percent nationally, pulling into second place behind Bernie Sanders. That was the fourth poll in the past month showing Bloomberg in double digits, leading to the Nevada debate invitation since the donor requirements have been dropped.
While this is probably generating a lot of excitement among Bloomberg fans (since I guess we’re assuming that such people now exist), it’s worth noting that this is only one poll and Bloomberg is still trailing Sanders by a wide margin. (Bernie has a twelve-point lead over him.) And second place doesn’t get you much more than a consolation trophy, though it would likely generate enough heat for him to end up qualifying for the South Carolina debate. And in the Nevada debate, the other candidates will undoubtedly be going after Mike’s record on racist and sexist comments for half of the evening. After the dust settles from that show we’ll find out of the Bloomberg boomlet has any legs to it. I’ll personally be shocked if it does.
I am not sure that it was a good idea for Bloomberg to push to get into a debate. I would offer much of his appeal is that he is the candidate that is the least known, and by least known I mean the candidate who's warts, undesirables, and negative qualities are largely unknown and undiscussed. I think Jazz Shaw is correct in the assumption that much of this debate will focus on the other candidates attacking Bloomberg like a pack of coyotes attacking their prey.
Moreover, it has been suggested that Mike Bloomberg found the worst debate coaching money can buy as he is apparently using the same losers that helped loser Hillary lose the debates and eventually lose the election. Not sure why anyone would believe that these are the people you want to use, considering their track record of failing miserably.
We'll see how well Bloomberg navigates the attacks, and whether or not there even "is" a reasonable answer to these obvious questions that can be given. Best guess is that we will see and hear the same political spin being offered early on, which has been less than impressive to anyone not bound and determined to make Mini-Mike the candidate.
Again, there is zero chance that the pink pussy hat #MeToo women can support Bloomberg with a straight face and still suggest that the #MeToo is a legitimate cause. I guess it's up to them to make that determination on whether #MeToo applies to "everyone" or just Republicans and other prominent conservatives. Same holds true for many of the black leadership, who are going to have to decide whether they side with their long standing principles or toss them in the ditch in order to side with the billionaire who promises them that (while he is a racist scum) he can "win".

Ch's commentary was so inane that it needs to be followed by something with some class, even if I must repeat this from the thread below:
Here's what Michael Bloomberg joining the debate stage means for Wednesday night
By Chuck Todd, Mark Murray and Melissa Holzberg
LAS VEGAS — Tomorrow night here will be the ninth presidential debate for five of the Democratic candidates — Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar.
And it will be the first debate for Michael Bloomberg.
A new national NPR/PBS/Marist poll out this morning has Bloomberg hitting 19 percent, giving him his fourth accepted poll at 10 percent or higher, which appears to have qualified him for Wednesday’s Democratic debate.
What’s more, Bloomberg’s campaign has said the former New York City mayor will appear on the stage.
“Mike is looking forward to joining the other Democratic candidates on stage and making the case for why he's the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump and unite the country,” campaign manager Kevin Sheekey said in a statement.
And here’s what having Bloomberg at the debate will mean:
It could suck the oxygen from some of the candidates trying to compete with Bernie Sanders — like Pete Buttigieg (who won Iowa) or Amy Klobuchar (who finished a surprising third in New Hampshire). Indeed, our friends over Politico Playbook write: “Bloomberg vs. Bernie: It’s on.”
It gives Sanders and Warren the billionaire foil for their policies and worldview.
And it means that plenty of scrutiny is probably coming Bloomberg’s way. That could hurt him. Or he could survive and thrive — like Donald Trump did in 2015-2016.
Strikingly, Bloomberg isn’t even competing in Nevada’s caucuses; he’s skipping the first four contests.
But he will be on the debate stage tomorrow night.
__________
WILL HE BE HURT, OR "SURVIVE AND THRIVE"?

And regarding Ch's warning that Bloomberg has said things that are problematic:
Trump can say anything, and you Chtrooth toadies let him get away with it.
Bloomberg can't do that. He will have to explain himself. And he can and will, and without lying about it the way Trump does.
quit posting the same stupid shit, no one will read, on multiple threads, stupid old man
Also probably without calling Trump "a racist scum" as Ch just called Bloomberg.

Auto received $120 b
Ranchers/Farmers $64 b
Trump's farm bailout has cost taxpayers more than double the auto bailout
John Gallagher, Detroit Free PressPublished 6:00 a.m. ET Sept. 24, 2019
President Donald Trump's trade-related payments to American farmers have quietly become the mother of all bailouts.
Back when General Motors and Chrysler faced bankruptcy during the Great Recession, Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama pumped billions into a rescue of the auto industry. That bailout ultimately cost the public about $12 billion when everything was settled and loans repaid.
But that looks like small potatoes compared with the farm bailout underway now. So far, Trump's direct payments to farmers hurt by his trade dispute with China have totaled some $28 billion — more than twice what the auto bailout cost, according to calculations from Bloomberg Businessweek. And the payments are still flowing with no end in sight to the trade dispute.

The pink pussy hat #MeToo women have been protesting Trump every year since he has been President.
Just wondering if they will be protesting Bloomberg or if sexual harassment and other sexually demeaning behavior is perfectly acceptable if your a Democrat!
This isn't about whether or not "I" give a rip about Bloomberg sexually harassing people, or whether "I" think that would make him a better or worse President...
It's about all of those people who specifically want to ignore all of Trump's accomplishment, and focus on his "personality" and other "personal traits" that they see as so unbecoming.
If being President is about not having sexual harassment skeletons, or not having non-disclosure agreements, or not about making racist remarks, supporting redlining, or stop and frisk, or suggesting your police throw people up against the wall from time to time, or what not...
Then why is Trump being judged for that, but not Bloomberg?
That is the only question...
and no... the "answer" isn't that someone is dumb enough to accept what Bloomberg tells them, so it's all A-Okay! Bloomberg cannot erase or take back his behavior just because he wants to. It's the way he behaved for the first 75 years of his life. He didn't change at age 78.

Reasonable adults will be judging Bloomberg's record as well as Trump's regarding being mayor/president AND regarding any and all personal behavior.

Melania Trump brought her signature stilettos to the NASCAR Daytona 500 in Daytona Beach, Fla. on Sunday.
The 49-year-old first lady was clad in a black-and-white polka-dot midi dress from Christian Dior, which she belted at the waist with a laser-cut white leather belt from Alaia (available on Net-a-Porter.com for $1,370).
The Good Ole Boys of NASCAR loved her.

Will they...
A Mayor vs a President?
A man with dozens of NDSa vs a man who the left believed broke the law because of one?
There is no "objective" manner to compare Mayor Bloomberg favorably to Trump. Only someone steadfastly convinced that you want a Democrat over a Republicans is going to see Bloomberg as the lesser of two evils!
The list of people despised by this little shit just keeps growing:
1. Moms
2. Pregnant women
3. Farmers
4. Workers

Sure... Bloomberg is WAY better at sexually harassing female employees and WAY better at writing non-disclosure agreements, and way better at not letting anyone out of them... and way better at insulting pregnant women, and way better at insulting Blacks and Hispanics, and way better at implementing and supporting policies that liberals demand are racist!
He's also way better at being a dictator, because unlike Trump (who people claim will attempt it for the Presidency), Bloomberg actually had the laws changed so he would run for a third term as NY Mayor!
But of course, he's an old geezer and will be nearly 83 at the end of his first term... so he will be lucky to make it through one without coughing it up!
If Hillary Clinton is his VP he won't make it through his first term. 😊
What a clever and novel solution to combat global warming.....something all can embrace!!!!

TRUMP SAYS:
"He is NOT! I'm WAY better. He says stupid little things like,
'I'd like to do her.'
Me, I just walk right up and grab 'em by the p****."
Well Reverend Hypocrite!
Trump doesn't say those things directly to women or in the workplace where it gets you sued. Lord only knows what Bloomberg says to other guys (locker room talk) because we know how he speaks directly to employees.
I would hope you see the difference? Or is that a partisan difference that escapes you because it's the "bad orange man"?
In fact, much of Trump's upper management are women and the Trump organization has never had a reputation for being hostile to either women or minorities. It's why women don't sue Trump or the Trump organization every other day.
Fatty why do you lie?
Trump doesn't say those things directly to women or in the workplace
