Not ONE Dem Candidate Would Have Taken Out Soleimani

Of the many topics covered at last night’s debate in New Hampshire, one of the more jarring moments came when the subject of taking out terrorist kingpin Qassem Soleimani was brought up. The responses of the various Democrats on stage offer a peek at what you can expect in terms of foreign policy and military matters if one of this crew winds up taking a seat in the Oval Office and the situation room. Not one of them would have made the call to help Soleimani shuffle off this mortal coil.

I think Mayor Pete summed it up when he offered that “taking out a bad guy is a bad idea if you do not know what you’re doing.” Of course, a man who's political experience is being the mayor of the fourth largest city of a Midwestern state would not have a clue what he is doing. So have to give him props for owning up.

But quite obviously Trump and the Military knew what "they" were doing. It went off without a hitch, Soleimani is dead, there were no real collateral damage, and it was done safely with a drone strike that left our troops out of harms way. It almost couldn't have gone any smoother, at least from a military standpoint.

But as it generally is, if the President says up is up, then democrats are going to argue that up is down. They simply cannot help themselves, and they really make no attempt anymore to distinguish between things where there might be legitimate disagreement, and things that are so obviously right that you look stupid opposing it. This is one of those times were they simply do not recognize (or refuse to recognize) that Trump did the right thing and it was an unmistakable success.

The major criticisms were that it would lead to war with Iran. Yet, we are no closer to war than we were before, and Iran did little more than toss a couple bombs at us that appeared to be designed to miss. The Iranian regime has no desire or heart to go to war with the United States. That much is obvious. The death of Soleimani was nearly risk free and was high reward. At least that is how it played out. But Democrats are "still" opposed to it, even though their arm chair criticism (and reasons for opposing) turned out to be wrong.
