Here’s what actually happened: Justice sources tell me that interim U.S. Attorney Tim Shea had told the department’s leadership he and other career officials in the office felt the proposed sentence was excessive. As the deadline for the filing neared, the prosecutors on the case nonetheless threatened to withdraw from the case unless they got their demands for these stiffest of penalties. Mr. Shea—new to the job—suffered a moment of cowardice and submitted to this ultimatum. The filing took Justice Department leaders by surprise, and the decision to reverse was made well before Mr. Trump tweeted, and with no communication with the White House. The revised filing, meanwhile, had the signature of the acting supervisor of the office’s criminal division, who is a career civil servant, not a political appointee.
So the irony in this so called debate (which is just more liberal pearl clutching because they keep losing over and over) is that nobody on the left actually wants to address the merits of the sentencing. Let's forget about the fact that pretty much all of their allegations (EVERY SINGLE TIME) are unproven, wrong, and just equate to more barking at the moon.
During the same week when the DOJ came to the conclusion that Andrew McCabe's lying to the FBI over the leaking of classified material was not worthy of even a charge, others in the DOJ (associated with the Mueller probe) decided to recommend a sentence a 67 year old man with no criminal record to upwards of nine years in prison for lying to Congress (a charge that has been brought only six time in the past seventy five years) regarding an investigation that was proven flat out to be a partisan witch hunt.
Moreover, the original sentencing memorandum had never gotten the sign off from the people who are generally required to sign off on them. It's like they were going around leadership, in order to recommend a sentence so outrageous that it's literally impossible to justify. They effectively threw a fit, stomped their feet, and are now all holding their breath because they didn't get their way.
To be clear. By any and all objective standards lying to the FBI is 99.99% more likely to get you charged with a crime than lying to Congress. That is just an undeniable fact. So far, not a single person has been able to explain the extenuating circumstances surrounding Roger Stone, other than the fact that certain people associated with the Mueller probe are still trying to validate their own existence and want to punish anyone associated with Trump.
In any sane world, everyone would see the horrendous abuse of power where such power was used to save one of their own from prosecution, while using that same power to suck the life out of a 67 year old man with no criminal past who committed no crime that anyone else would have been charged with (had it not been for his association with Trump).
Since when is an old man trying to dig up information on the next wiki-leaks drop a bigger threat to society than an FBI leader who uses his position of power to authorize the leak of damaging classified information to the media and then lie about it to Federal investigators? If someone could answer me that simple question, then I would be grateful.

TDS.
there's your answer.
Nothing is criminal if I say it isn't.
(Trump logic.)
We'll it wasn't criminal for McCabe, Clapped, or Clinton.
Or anybody else popular with the Mandarin class.
Trumpism is increasingly irrational.
Sad
an investigation that was proven flat out to be a partisan witch hunt.
The only one sad Roger is you.
oh, hey alky.
awakened from your impeachment slumber i see.
how goes your takedown of President Trump?
you guys making any progress these days?
i hear he's fixin' to do a hot lap with The Beast at the Daytona 500.
some would call that a victory lap.
heh.
mccabe will not be charged. the little shitstain walks free.
huh.
trump must be the worst dictator in history. this is not how dictating is done.
Hillary/Obimbo buying the Steal Dossier was an illegal act, But, Actual Democrats in the impeacy thingy said it was all very legal because the DNC paid for it.
Roger, your wives had a great time on Valentine's because they had real men fucking them.
Think about that Broken Boi.
James this is your very unnatural front runner according to the link you posted.
Showing Bernie leading 4.4 % over other Dwarfs.

Betting odds on the Democratic nominee:
Scroll down to the graph and see how
BLOOMBERG is ROCKETING upward while everyone else (even Sanders) is in decline.

There is no Democratic frontrunner...
Just the flavor of the month!
Remember with Beto O'Rourke was all the rage?
Kamala Harris was leading in the betting odds when this started.
Believe it or not Cory Booker once lead in the betting odds.
Then Warren was at one time over 50%.
Biden was the leader for quite some time.
Now Bernie leads?
Soon it will be someone else (Likely Bloomberg) as the flavor of the month.
Well over $300 million spent! Should have some impact, no?
At the end of the day, there is no frontrunner because nobody actually stands out.
Jane your link.shows your fantasy woman raper up 4.4 % on the Rest of the Dwarfs.
Better Businessman
Trump.won the Presidency spending $66 million of his own money.
Bloomberg $300 million and not even a single Deligate.
Look at the graph of the betting odds.
At the beginning of the year, Bloomberg was down around 10%. Now he has rocketed up to 34%+, challenging Biden (who is declining, but at ca. 36%.
Prediction: Bloomberg will soon be far more than the mere "flavor of the month," turning Trump into the "stench of the year."
The bigger problem here...
Is that Beto was a favorite. Till he was vetted.
Harris was a favorite. Till she was vetted.
Booker was a favorite. Till he was vetted.
Warren was a favorite. Till he was vetted.
Biden was a favorite. Till he reminded everyone why he keep losing.
Bernie has been vetted and is still a favorite.
Bloomberg is just "starting" be vetted. We'll see where he stands once people actually get to know more than his $300 million in advertising is suggesting.
Bloomberg is just "starting" be vetted.\
yep.
he's a racist and tyrannical little shit. and a serial sexual harasser. and we don't know the half of it yet.
i suppose it makes sense that a pederast would have such fawning adoration for such a disgusting little man.
He is both smart and honest and innocent enough to admit mistakes he has made, unlike Trump who is incapable of doing that.
And any sexual insensitivity Bloomberg has expressed pales before things Trump has said and done.
And any racial insensitivity pales before Trump's avowed white supremacy.
Prediction: Bloomberg will vet well.
Indeed, excellently, compared to Trump.
Business improprieties?
Trump, miserable.
Bloomberg, excellent.
Jane is all in for Bloomberg.
Good to see you finally commit.

LOL. yeah just about as well as 270towin's 2016 presidential race predictions.
the little shit is vetting so well he has prohibited his own news org from reporting on him.
heh.
Vetting mini-mike.

“This business of ‘Well, they can afford it; they should pay their fair share’? Who are you to say somebody else’s fair share?” New York Times
He is both smart and honest and innocent enough to admit mistakes he has made.
But yet... he has refused (so far) to apologize for anything. He continues to justify and argue his behavior.
Face it, Reverend Hypocrisy... you will end up supporting the very type of person (Bloomberg) that you demanded (in Trump) should never be President.
The only difference is that this particular New York Party switcher ended up as a Democrat... and you have nobody else who can even hope to win at this point.
To be clear, I don't believe you beat fire with fire. If we are going to have a New York Billionaire with questionable morals, supposedly racist views, and a history of treating women poorly... people are not going to switch horses in midstream, especially considering the horse you are riding is taking you were you want to go!
If you want people to focus on Trump's supposed shortcomings (rather than his successes as President)... you sort of have to put forward a candidate that contrasts them..
Claiming that his pig has apologized for being a pig (even though he hasn't) doesn't quite establish the contrast needed.
NEW: Bernie Sanders campaign manager @fshakir accuses Bloomberg of "selling influence" with business execs joining the "Committee for Mike."
"He says he's a billionaire that can't be bought. He's already selling influence to his friends in the corporate elite," Shakir tells me.
Ever since I watched the Firing Line interview with him, I have sincerely believed that Bloomberg is VERY much the more honest, upright, genuine, moral, and principled of the two billionaires. Also, he is politically smart and capable and will know how to take good advice from seasoned advisers, something dreadfully lacking in Trump who surrounds himself with sycophants and then fires any who try to be honest with him. Unlike Trump, Bloomberg will put loyalty to country above loyalty to himself. He was a good mayor and will be a good president. And I think all this will become apparent to voters in the near future.
He was a good mayor
Yet... only 55% of Democrats in New York had a favorable impression of him in a recent poll. That's barely half of the people within his own Party who knew him best.
Face it Reverend Hypocrite...
You are now hopelessly and completely in love with Michael Bloomberg and you will now kiss the ground he walks on, because that is just the sort of personality you have!
LOL Some say Trump is a good president, yet only about 43% of our people think so.
Let's face it, sycophant Ch, you are a sell out to the worst elements of the sold-out GOP and Trumpism.
Jane Bromance with Bloomberg

Well, let's compare that with this:
Bloomberg's Philanthropy Pays Off In Emerging Campaign
February 14, 2020
“Mike Bloomberg may have been a late addition to the 2020 race for president, but the billionaire businessman and former New York City mayor has for years been quietly using his wealth to build what would become a national political network — with a massive scope that’s just now becoming visible,” ABC News reports.
“Bloomberg has pumped hundreds of millions of dollars into political donations and philanthropic urban grants that benefited progressive candidates and mayors.”

IOW, sounds like he has some pretty nice chickens who are now coming home to roost.
President Trump is planning on taking the presidential limo, known as "The Beast," for a ride at the Daytona 500.
The White House is working with NASCAR officials for Trump to do a lap on the Daytona track in Florida to start off the racing season on Sunday, sources told Fox News White House correspondent John Roberts, who said the plan is "not 100%" as the logistics are still being worked out.
...ABC News reports.
the media is just as panicked about bernie as the DNC, and they are complicit in trying to take him down.
almost as hilarious to watch as the pederast's tongue baths for tiny mike.
