Bolton to Break Silence

John Bolton is due to make his first public speech since the impeachment inquiry into Trump wrapped up, even as his lawyers continue to wrangle with the White House over the contents of his highly anticipated book, CNN reports.

Bolton’s speech tonight at Duke University, the first of two public appearances this week, isn’t expected to directly address the issue of impeachment or the ongoing conflict over the contents of his manuscript though he is due to take questions.

Mike is in this race to defeat Donald Trump, and he’s the Democratic candidate who can get that done. This campaign will not sit idly by and allow false attacks to stand without response.

The latest example comes today with the circulating of a video of Mike’s comments by Donald Trump Jr.that is taken completely out of context: The video cuts off Mike’s first sentence where he is referring to agrarian society that lasted 3,000 years, not farmers today. In just the past three months, Mike has traveled to 26 states. During that time, he has met with farmers and heard directly about the struggles they face, and talked with them about policies that will offset the harm that Trump has done them.

Bolton Hints at Further Revelations
February 17, 2020 at 9:00 pm EST

John Bolton, the former national security adviser to President Trump, suggested that his unpublished book contained far more revelations than just the campaign to pressure Ukraine for help with domestic politics but said he was fighting “censorship” by the White House, the New York Times reports.

Said Bolton: “I hope it’s not suppressed.”

One of Mike Bloomberg’s earliest memories took place around his family’s dining room table in Medford, Massachusetts. His father – a bookkeeper at a local dairy who never earned more than $6,000 a year in his life – sat down and wrote out a $25 or $50 check to the NAACP. When Mike asked him why, his father responded: “Because discrimination against anyone is a threat to everyone.” With that simple act and that simple explanation, Mike’s father taught him one of his most important lessons: We’re all in this together – and if you have an opportunity to help, you have an obligation to act.

The sense of duty and common purpose that he first learned from his father has guided Mike Bloomberg throughout his life and career as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and job creator who served as mayor of New York City for 12 years.

We’re all in this together – and if you have an opportunity to help, you have an obligation to act.

It’s what led him to become one of America’s most fearless and effective voices on urgent issues including climate change, gun violence, public health, and education. It’s why he has given $10 billion to support vital causes in the U.S. and around the world, and why he has pledged to give away nearly all of his money in his lifetime. And it’s what compels him today to run for president of the United States.

MIKE CAN GET IT DONE! WE LIKE MIKE!

How Bloomberg Prepped for This Week’s Debate

Politico:
“Howard Wolfson, the veteran Democratic strategist who joined Bloomberg’s orbit in 2009 after working on Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential race, is playing the role of Bernie Sanders; Julie Wood, Bloomberg’s national press secretary, is depicting Elizabeth Warren; and senior advisers Marc La Vorgna and Marcia Hale are stand-ins for Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar, respectively.

“Bloomberg is trying to hone a crisp and energetic appeal to voters that will contrast with Biden — another white, male septuagenarian on stage, according to advisers.”

The 10 waived laws include requirements for having open competition, justifying selections and receiving all bonding from a contractor before any work can begin.”

So there was not 64 lawsuits?
He is allowing women out of their NDA to speak about them?
He didn't tell people that farming was nothing more than digging a hole?
He didn't say that we should let old people die and tell them there is no cure?
He didn't implement and support stop and frisk?
He didn't suggest that sometime the police just needed to throw someone up against a wall?
He didn't call Obamacare a disgrace?

Is Bloomberg suggesting that these are fictional lawsuits, that his own words were incorrect, that videos were doctored, and that he never actually said or did any of this?

Because it sounds to me like he did everything he is accused of, he is just providing political spin that most reasonable adults will see as political spin!

First Read:
Here's what Michael Bloomberg joining the debate stage means for Wednesday night
By Chuck Todd, Mark Murray and Melissa Holzberg

LAS VEGAS — Tomorrow night here will be the ninth presidential debate for five of the Democratic candidates — Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar.

And it will be the first debate for Michael Bloomberg.

A new national NPR/PBS/Marist poll out this morning has Bloomberg hitting 19 percent, giving him his fourth accepted poll at 10 percent or higher, which appears to have qualified him for Wednesday’s Democratic debate.

What’s more, Bloomberg’s campaign has said the former New York City mayor will appear on the stage.

“Mike is looking forward to joining the other Democratic candidates on stage and making the case for why he's the best candidate to defeat Donald Trump and unite the country,” campaign manager Kevin Sheekey said in a statement.

And here’s what having Bloomberg at the debate will mean:

It could suck the oxygen from some of the candidates trying to compete with Bernie Sanders — like Pete Buttigieg (who won Iowa) or Amy Klobuchar (who finished a surprising third in New Hampshire). Indeed, our friends over Politico Playbook write: “Bloomberg vs. Bernie: It’s on.”

It gives Sanders and Warren the billionaire foil for their policies and worldview.

And it means that plenty of scrutiny is probably coming Bloomberg’s way. That could hurt him. Or he could survive and thrive — like Donald Trump did in 2015-2016.

Strikingly, Bloomberg isn’t even competing in Nevada’s caucuses; he’s skipping the first four contests.

But he will be on the debate stage tomorrow night.
__________
WILL HE BE HURT, OR "SURVIVE AND THRIVE"?

Well he certainly didn't do a very good job explaining himself on "The View". I don't think women want to hear lawyer speak as to why he won't release those women from their NDAs. I don't think he has done anything to explain his statements about cops throwing minorities up against the wall to make them think twice about carrying their weapons. His explanation about Obamacare could only make sense to someone already convinced that it didn't matter.

Trump did and can win without the Pink Pussy Hat women or 90% of black people voting for him. A Democrat cannot win if they don't get overwhelming turnout and support from women and minorities. If it's between two sexist creeps or two racists ass wipes (as some are describing) it will only cause women and minorities to stay home...

or vote their pocketbook!

No those blacks have been speaking for themselves. I merely informed you of it.

Japan Needs much more Energy.
"The prospect of more coal has been looming for years: In 2018, Japan proposed adding 36 new coal plants to its fleet. Earlier this month, the New York Timesreported that Japan has revised that plan but is still on track to add a total of 22 coal-fired power plants at 17 sites in the next five years. Some 15 of these plants are already under construction."
