President's approval on handing of the coronavirus crisis!

The movement here is actually within the Democratic ranks, as "some" Democrats are starting to grow up and stop politicizing this event.
Still, in a split from Democrats' overall attitudes, even from last week, 30% of Democrats approve, which is about double the number from last week’s poll, and 69% disapprove, down from 86%. Meanwhile, an overwhelming 92% of Republicans approve, up from 86% last week. Only 8% disapprove, compared to 11% in last week’s poll.
It won't stop the hardcore Adam Schiff boot-lickers from following the most putrid anti-American haters who want to continue to criticize and hold up our financial relief package over petty politics. There will be some Democrats who are simply going to find fault in everything that the President does, because they do not see clearly and cannot help themselves. (It's called Trump derangement syndrome).

But for that third of the Democratic rank and file, it will soon become trouble for the Democratic Party if they continue their scorched earth strategy of criticism, obstruction, and rooting for the worst. It may actually start to push those people "away" from the Party.

On the flip side, that 15-20 percent of Republicans who used to be known as the "never-Trumpers" are dwindling down to fewer and fewer and in fact, may (such as Bill Kristol) have openly admitted that they are not actually Republicans after all. They were just neoconservatives who never really followed the rest of the conservative line. So to have 92% approval within his own Party is a spectacular result given all the moving parts here.

Wow Denny...

Missed the press conference today?

From distilleries making hand sanitizer to other companies sending out masks to the military setting up mobile medical hospitals to the Federal government picking up the tab for the National Guards to a pure myriad of support too vast to write in one paragraph...

Things are getting done.

They are getting done rapidly and efficiently.

In a million years Democrats would not have worked with Republican Governors if the situation was reversed... and even as late as today you had cratchedy old bitches Liz Warren and Nancy Pelosi demanding that the bi-partisan package coming out of the Senate will be "unfair" and are already working to undermine it as we speak.

Oh... and Mike Pence continues to look very Presidential.

“U.S. stock futures opened sharply lower on Sunday night as Wall Street waits on Washington to agree to an economic stimulus and rescue plan to combat the giant economic blow from the coronavirus outbreak,” CNBC reports.

“Dow Jones Industrial Average futures fell more than 900 points, or 5%, to hit their ‘limit down’ level.”

Trump Wants Control of Economic Rescue Funds

March 22, 2020 at 5:25 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 332 Comments

“Congressional lawmakers are feuding over a central component of the massive economic relief package being debated by the Senate, a battle that may threaten the enormous emergency aid package while reprising one of the most bitter political fights of the last decade,” the Washington Post reports.

“The Trump administration and Senate Republicans have called for giving the Treasury Department the authority to disburse hundreds of billions of dollars in emergency federal loans to firms hurt by the economic impact of the coronavirus.”

“Congressional Democrats have demanded the legislation include guardrails to prevent firms who receive the emergency aid from firing their workers or stripping them of their health care… They also are balking at giving Mnuchin so much authority to determine which firms receive the assistance.”

Trump Axed CDC Expert Job Months Before Outbreak
March 22, 2020 at 5:20 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard 43 Comments

“Several months before the coronavirus pandemic began, the Trump administration eliminated a key American public health position in Beijing intended to help detect disease outbreaks in China,” Reuters reports.

“The American disease expert, a medical epidemiologist embedded in China’s disease control agency, left her post in July… The first cases of the new coronavirus may have emerged as early as November, and as cases exploded, the Trump administration in February chastised China for censoring information about the outbreak and keeping U.S. experts from entering the country to help.

Governors and Mayors In Growing Uproar
March 22, 2020 at 8:32 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard Leave a Comment

“President Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic sparked uproar and alarm among governors and mayors on Sunday as Trump and his administration’s top advisers continued to make confusing statements about the federal government’s scramble to confront the crisis, including whether he will force private industry to mass produce needed medical items,” the Washington Post reports.

“As deaths climbed and ahead of a potentially dire week, Trump — who has sought to cast himself as a wartime leader — reacted to criticism that his administration has blundered with a torrent of soaring boasts and searing grievances. He tweeted that Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) and others ‘shouldn’t be blaming the Federal Government for their own shortcomings. We are there to back you up should you fail, and always will be!'”
_______________

Gov. Pritzker is not blaming the President for his own shortcomings, but for the President's. Pritzker has said that if the federal government response had been adequate, the economic impact of coronavirus could have been blunted and state-by-state "stay inside" orders in his state and in others might have been avoided.

Honest, decent, truthful Rev. said...

Pritzker was referring, among other things, to the lack of those "millions" of test kits we were assured we would have LONG before now, and which still are not available.

Trump Lashes Out at News Media
March 23, 2020 at 7:55 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 41 Comments

President Trump late Sunday lashed out at news networks and newspapers over their coverage of his administration’s response to the coronavirus outbreak, claiming that all he’s seen is “hatred of me.”
_________________

Is he perfectly innocent? Is he in no way to blame? The fact that he has been wrong about the virus again and again and again should not be taken into consideration? The fact that there are still governors and mayors who are BEGGING for testing possibilities that he has confidently promised cities and states but has not delivered should not be laid at his doorstep?

There IS hatred. But part of it is based on the fact that HE hates anyone who ever sees anything wrong about him, whether it be journalists or members of his own administration who dare to disagree.

Exchange of the Day
March 23, 2020 at 7:23 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 50 Comments

Science Magazine‘s Jon Cohen has a fascinating interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci on the coronavirus pandemic:

COHEN: What about the travel restrictions? President Trump keeps saying that the travel ban for China, which began 2 February, had a big impact and that he wishes China would have told us three to four months earlier and that they were “very secretive.” It just doesn’t comport with facts.

FAUCI: I know, but what do you want me to do? I mean, seriously Jon, let’s get real, what do you want me to do?

COHEN: Most everyone thinks that you’re doing a remarkable job, but you’re standing there as the representative of truth and facts but things are being said that aren’t true and aren’t factual.

FAUCI: The way it happened is that after he made that statement, I told the appropriate people, it doesn’t comport, because two or three months earlier would have been September. The next time they sit down with him and talk about what he’s going to say, they will say, by the way, Mr. President, be careful about this and don’t say that. But I can’t jump in front of the microphone and push him down. OK, he said it. Let’s try and get it corrected for the next time.

COHEN: You have not said China virus.

FAUCI: Ever.

COHEN. And you never will, will you?

FAUCI: No.

I noticed that the doctor was not present at the last task force presentation. He is one of the few Trump administration people that the general public trusts.

Nobel Laureate Predicts Quicker Coronavirus Recovery
March 23, 2020 at 7:43 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 50 Comments

“Michael Levitt, a Nobel laureate and Stanford biophysicist, began analyzing the number of COVID-19 cases worldwide in January and correctly calculated that China would get through the worst of its coronavirus outbreak long before many health experts had predicted,” the Los Angeles Times reports.

“Now he foresees a similar outcome in the United States and the rest of the world.

“While many epidemiologists are warning of months, or even years, of massive social disruption and millions of deaths, Levitt says the data simply don’t support such a dire scenario — especially in areas where reasonable social distancing measures are in place.”

Senate Pushes Vote on Rescue Bill to Noon
March 23, 2020 at 8:33 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 11 Comments

“Democrats and Republicans continue talks over a massive stimulus funding package that failed to get enough votes in a key Senate procedural vote Sunday evening,” CNBC reports.

“A Senate vote on the bill originally planned for 9:45 a.m. ET has been pushed to noon.”

“While many epidemiologists are warning of months, or even years, of massive social disruption and millions of deaths, Levitt says the data simply don’t support such a dire scenario — especially in areas where reasonable social distancing measures are in place.”

so all the liberal caterwauling, fearmongering and praying for a worst case scenario to achieve a maximum number of deaths has fallen on deaf ears with the well informed.

nice.

I am having a cup of coffee this morning looking forward to a productive week.

Or as fear-mongering james the POS "pastor" and political_lire would say, don't I know if I take 2 grams of caffeine I would kill myself ? Great "journalism" there with no bias, just "facts". Somehow political_lire has managed to excerpt out of an interview a slice to make Trump look bad. I listened to a 30 minute interview last night (taped) and he was glowing with his praise for Trump. And the "pastor" now infers that Faust is not a Trump supporter and him not being at last nights briefing was significant. And that saying 3 or 4 months instead of 2 or 3 was significant.

The hatred is drooling from that blog and its servant "pastor". You can say EVIL.

Looks like dems have slit there own throat now. MANY people are pissed at Pelosi's vacation and actions.

of course not james and political_lire, as I'm sure the idiot will spam it on all threads CHT puts up. Like he always does.

MAD COWS DISEASE and HATE I'm telling you. But the "pastor" will lose and AMERICA will win.

May God bless America
