Trump is quite literally a lame duck with 12 days left in his Presidency and Democrats still want to make the entire political scene about the "bad orange man". This is quite interesting since there is another person (I forget his/her name) who is about to be sworn in as the 46th President of the United State. It's something simple like Bob, Mary, Frank, or Jane... but I am not able to recall exactly at this time. It will come to me.
The real question is after spending the past four years in a constant state of angry frenzy, how will liberals adjust to having a President of "their" own Party in the White House. Will they be able to adjust from being on offense to being on defense? Will they be able to navigate the hypocrisy that it will require to make sure that their President (the name is right on the tip of my tongue) isn't judged in the same manner Trump was?
Already we have rising interest rates, job losses were reported for the first time in months, and people are predicting other economic issues on the horizon. Perhaps liberals will continue to demand that their own Party's failures (when these failures inevitably happen) are blamed on the "previous" President. You know how Obama blamed Bush for most of his Presidency for anything and everything that went wrong. I am sure that the new person who is taking office...um.... yeah... will use that same tactic.
Either way, it will be difficult for liberals to let this go. I am sure that there are already liberal legal scholars wondering out loud if you can impeach a President after he leaves office, sanction him, or otherwise send him to his room without supper. Obviously we have heard several rumors of local prosecutors who might want to take a stab at him, but that seems unlikely given the financial and legal resources (and the fact that the Trump organization has been cleared in many of these cases previously).
The reality is that the left might just need to cut the cord with The Donald. It will be hard. It will be painful. There will be withdrawal. But eventually they might find their way to a better place. After all, good old what's his face (or is it what's her face) is about to be sworn in and they should be pleased.

“I want him to resign. I want him out. He has caused enough damage. I think he should leave. He said he’s not going to show up. He’s not going to appear at the at the inauguration. He hasn’t been focused on what is going on with COVID. He’s either been golfing or he’s been inside the Oval Office fuming and throwing every single person who has been loyal and faithful to him under the bus, starting with the vice president. He doesn’t want to stay there. He only wants to stay there for the title. He only wants to stay there for his ego. He needs to get out. He needs to do the good thing, but I don’t think he’s capable of doing a good thing,”

2. Came to believe that a Power greater than our–selves could restore us to sanity.
3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to Trumpalcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Murkowski Calls on Trump to Resign
5:53 pm
Sen. Lisa Murkowski has become the first Republican senator to call on President Trump to resign in the wake of the deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol this week, according to a blistering interview with the Anchorage Daily News.
Billionaires Who Backed Trump No Longer Talking
5:30 pm
Bloomberg:
“They bankrolled Donald Trump. They applauded his tax cuts. They cheered as the stock market soared. Now, the sound coming from some of the president’s wealthiest donors is this: silence.
“As chaos engulfs the White House and Democrats talk of impeachment, few of these billionaires have much to say about the president they showered with many millions in campaign contributions.”

It Was Always Going to Happen
6:00 pm
Andrew Sullivan:
“Trump’s character and profound psychological deformation always, always meant he would not relinquish power without an almighty struggle. We elected an instinctual tyrant, preternaturally incapable of understanding the give and take of democratic politics, for whom losing in any contest threatens the core of his very being, and who has no effective control over the roiling emotions that course through his thickened arteries.
“Some of us were ridiculed for saying from the very beginning that there would have to be some kind of violence to remove him, if he were to lose the next election. We still are. We’re called victims of TDS, or Trump Derangement Syndrome, as if this were not the only sane position when a delusional, malignant, tyrant-wannabe has an entire political party in his grip, aided and abetted by tribal media tools. For myself, from the very beginning, having examined Trump’s past and observed his plain-as-day pathology, I just couldn’t envision how this figure could psychologically, voluntarily ever leave the Oval Office. Every single day of his presidency has confirmed this. He has blown through every guardrail against presidential abuse that exists.”

Hawley Faces Fierce Backlash From Colleagues
8:50 pm
“In a secure room where stunned senators were hiding from an angry mob on Wednesday, Sen. Josh Hawley stood in a corner, mostly alone,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
Said one person in the room: “It was extremely striking. For most of the time, he was in a corner of the room by himself with no one talking to him or acknowledging him.”
“The Missouri Republican’s Senate colleagues were furious with him, according to GOP aides. Minutes before, pro-Trump rioters had overrun the U.S. Capitol, forcing senators to halt the ratification of Democrat Joe Biden’s presidential victory and flee their chamber in terror, some running, some while holding hands.”
Pelosi tried. That's all.
I believe she got reassurance from generals. Something similar happened in Nixon's time when he had lost it so badly he was wandering around in the White House talking to portraits on the wall.

Murkowski Considers Leaving the Republican Party
9:13 pm
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) told the Anchorage Daily News that if the Republican Party cannot separate itself from Donald Trump, she isn’t certain she has a future with the party.
When asked if she would become an independent, she said: “Well, you know, there’s a lot of people who actually thought that I did that in 2010, think that I became an independent. I didn’t have any reason to leave my party in 2010. I was a Republican who ran a write-in campaign and I was successful. But I will tell you, if the Republican Party has become nothing more than the party of Trump, I sincerely question whether this is the party for me.”
Impeachment Trial Would Be After Biden Takes Office
9:08 pm
“On the cusp of the second impeachment battle in just over a year, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is circulating a memo to Republican senators that outlines how a potential Senate trial would work for President Trump — proceedings that would all but certainly occur after he leaves the White House,” the Washington Post reports.
“McConnell’s office notes that the Senate will not reconvene for substantive business until Jan. 19, which means the earliest possible date that impeachment trial proceedings can begin in the Senate is the day before President-elect Joe Biden is inaugurated.”
FBI Probes Intent of Rioters to Take Hostages
9:05 pm
“Investigators are trying to determine whether some who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday intended to do more than disrupt the certification of President-elect Joe Biden’s victory,” the Washington Post reports.
“Authorities are particularly interested in images of people carrying zip ties, a plastic version of handcuffs, and at least one man was arrested while allegedly carrying a pistol on the Capitol grounds.”
Trump Lawyer Calls for Pence’s Execution
9:01 pm
Pro-Trump lawyer Lin Wood has moved full-time to Parler after he was permanently suspended from Twitter on Thursday where he called for Vice President Mike Pence’s execution, Mediaite reports.
Wrote Wood: “Get the firing squads ready. Pence goes FIRST.”
Wood also claimed that Ashli Babbitt, the woman shot dead by Capitol Police on Wednesday, is still “alive.”
Right Wing Extremists Vow to Return for Inauguration
8:57 pm
“In the wake of Wednesday’s riot at the Capitol, Trump supporters with extremist views feel emboldened and are vowing to return to Washington for the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden on January 20, using online platforms to rally each other,” NBC News reports.
Trumpworld Realizes They Were Wrong About Trump
9:22 pm
A senior Trump aide to Olivia Nuzzi: “This is confirmation of so much that everyone has said for years now — things that a lot of us thought were hyperbolic. We’d say, ‘Trump’s not a fascist,’ or ‘He’s not a wannabe dictator.’ Now, it’s like, ‘Well, what do you even say in response to that now?’”
The person adds: “There’s not a single person I have talked to at any level, from 23-year-old assistants to members of the Cabinet, who are not disgusted and ashamed with what has happened.”
Why would anyone believe that one person speaks for all of us?
Trump Told He May Face Legal Liability for Inciting Riots
9:44 pm
Washington Post: “Legal advisers to the president and his allies expressed increasing concern Friday about possible criminal liability in the wake of Wednesday’s melee… Trump has been told by attorneys that he could face legal jeopardy for inciting a mob; he has responded that it was never his intent to do so.”
Looking ahead, Trump’s action also made it easier for Democrats to demonize his supporters going forward as they express principled opposition to the policies the Democrats are poised to adopt later this month after they assume full control of the U.S. government.
Democrat support for BlackLivesMatter is the key to understanding what the next weeks, months and years hold in store. BLM is not a normal civil rights movement. It is a violent revolutionary movement. It doesn’t demand the dismantling of police forces in cities around the country to address specific grievances. As its charter makes clear, BLM’s demand to dismantle the police is rooted in the movement’s rejection of America’s moral right to police.
In Israel, discussions of BLM have honed in on its official anti-Semitism. BLM’s charter rejects Israel’s right to exist and its members have specifically targeted synagogues and Jewish businesses in places like Los Angeles and Kenosha.
But BLM is first and foremost an anti-American organization. Its charter describes the United States as a criminal state which was born not in a democratic revolution that brought the glad tidings of freedom and liberty to its people and to the world. As BLM and its supporters see things, the U.S. was born in the original sin of slavery. And 400 years later, the America they describe is an inherently, structurally racist society.
The only way for the U.S. to cleanse itself of the stain of its evil nature is through a revolutionary, racist, Marxist redistribution of wealth and opportunity and position in American society.
Today, the Democrat Party is committed to translating BLM’s anti-American dogma into policy. And the work has already begun.

Trump Went ‘Ballistic’ After Twitter Ban
10:43 pm
“President Trump has many prized possessions. But few seemed to inspire as much personal joy as his Twitter feed. Trump routinely boasted of the social media bullhorn he possessed. He credited it with launching his political trajectory. And he used it as a tool to lacerate his foes,” Politico reports.
“On Friday night, he lost it. And, then, he lost his mind.
“The president is ‘ballistic,’ a senior administration official said after Twitter permanently took down his account, citing the possibility that it would be used in the final 12 days of Trump’s presidency to incite violence. The official said Trump was ‘scrambling to figure out what his options are.'”
Did Capitol Rioters Have Hidden Help?
10:30 pm
“A growing number of House Democrats say they’re concerned that tactical decisions by some Capitol Police officers worsened Wednesday’s riots and have raised the possibility that the pro-Trump mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol might have had outside help,” Politico reports.
Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) told CBS News that that the ease in which rioters were able to get into the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday suggests someone on the inside of the Capitol was “complicit” in the assault.
Trump entered office boasting of how he was the “Hemingway of 140 characters” and crediting Twitter in particular for powering his political ascent. More than 56,000 tweets later, he leaves it amid a futile game of Whac-A-Mole with the tech moguls he despises, exiled to the outer provinces of the internet.
If this is how Trump’s presidency closes out, it will be a remarkable endnote. As a candidate for office, he was — at times — ubiquitous: posting outrageous takes on Twitter, calling into cable news shows, and grabbing the camera’s attention even when the podium on which he was set to hold a campaign rally was empty. Now, he’s increasingly isolated and receding from the spotlight. His favorite bullhorn is gone; oh, and the presidency is too.

new norm and that there isn’t a damn thing he can—or will—do about it.
The GOP Senate’s long run of failure theater was temporarily shut down as people entered the Capitol, some to cause trouble. Senator James Lankford (R-Okla.), a signer to a last-minute CYA attempt to delay certification and appoint a special commission to audit the election, was speaking in support of the move as Capitol security officers evacuated the chamber. When he returned hours later, Lankford, clearly shaken, rescinded his support. “We are headed for tonight the certification of Joe Biden to be president of the United States,” Lankford said. Kelly Loeffler, fresh off her defeat in Georgia, followed suit.
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), now having been reelected to a third term, gave a rambling speech late Wednesday night. “I don’t buy [election fraud claims]. Enough is enough. We gotta end this,” Graham ranted. “It is over.”
Indeed it is.
McConnell now will relinquish the gavel and Graham will relinquish his useless chairmanship of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) introduced a bill to form a commission to examine the integrity of the 2020 election, an odd proposal if, as Senate Republicans have insisted, the 2020 election was totally on the up-and-up.
The junior senator from South Carolina is up for reelection in 2022, so perhaps he wants to make sure what happened to Trump doesn’t happen to him.
Senator Mitt Romney (R-Utah), a Black Lives Matter supporter, ran away from a female constituent confronting him in an airport for not supporting the president’s election challenges. A leftist mob threatened the family of Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) on the eve of the Senate’s certification vote.
Within hours of the breach of the Capitol, Graham, who failed for four straight years to fulfill his repeated promises to “get to the bottom” of Barack Obama’s corrupt FBI, called for a special task force to investigate the “domestic terrorists” involved in the January 6 incident. “Sedition might be a charge for some of these people,” the tough talker warned. “The people sitting in the chairs need to be sitting in a jail cell.”
Graham claimed Trump’s “actions” before the incident “tarnished” the president’s accomplishments in office—accomplishments, by the way, that Trump achieved with little help from Senate Republicans, including Graham.
Ending their reign in humiliation and defeat, capped off with final gasps of grandstanding and betrayal, is a fitting end to the GOP Senate in the Trump era.
Trump supporters, unfortunately, didn’t deserve what they got in the end, as they endured more mockery and contempt from the media, Democrats, and NeverTrump hucksters alleged to be in their own political party. The lax double standards that apply to BLM rioters and Antifa thugs, of course, did not apply to the handful of troublemakers who vandalized the Capitol. Just a short trip down memory lane showed politicians and journalists cheering the takeover of the Hart Senate Office Building in October 2018 by leftist “protestors” angry about Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination and attacks on U.S. senators. But that wasn’t enough to expose the hypocrisy of the moment.
Like so many times before—be it a mob in Charlottesville or pro-life high schoolers at the Mall in Washington—it was death by proxy. Reporters and pundits want to “cleanse” the country of 75 million Trump supporters, language unthinkable just four years ago.
Trump’s presidency will end, but it’s unclear where he goes from here. The Republican Party as we know it also is over; the GOP’s disloyalty to the president and his voters in the final stretch will not be soon forgotten. And Republican control of the Senate during the Trump era ends just how it began, in making a bargain to do the Left’s bidding and ultimately acting as the Democratic Party’s useful idiots.
Democrats will control the White House, the Senate, and the House for the first time since 2009. A feeble near-octogenarian will pretend to govern as his ambitious vice president waits in the wings for her chance to rule. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will try to inflict God-knows-what on the country for at least the next two years.
It’s unlikely that will end well, either.
It didn’t have to end this way. Senate Republicans could have tackled election illegalities if for no other reason than to the placate the base. The president could have been far better prepared to confront voter fraud cases and stayed focused on the more provable examples rather than fringy, hard-to-prove accusations. The Republican Party could have acted like the Democratic Party by demanding state lawmakers in swing states push back harder.
But none of it happened.
The end
Trump may have destroyed the Republican party of Abraham Lincoln
Very sad that the GOP still closes its eyes and supports the fat ass trump......I expect as the onion is unpeeled more and more voters will awaken and realize the GOP is the party of phony's and liars looking to maintain the power of rich white men!!!!!!

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. — Winds of change did not blow through a luxury seaside resort here as top Republicans huddled Friday to chart their party's future.
After disappointing elections that cost the GOP the White House and control of the U.S. Senate — and after a mob incited by President Trump to protest his election defeat left five dead and his lame-duck administration in shambles — there was little appetite for a course correction, or for taking on the president.
Ronna McDaniel, the chairwoman Trump installed four years ago as the titular head of the GOP, was reelected unanimously without a challenger. She lavishly praised Trump for attracting new voters in his losing campaign while thanking him for choosing her for the post. And Tommy Hicks Jr., a close ally of the president and his eldest son, overwhelmingly defeated three
The sun sets at the White House on Thursday, Jan. 7. (Jabin Botsford/The Washington Post)
GOP members — flying from all over the country for the event — repeatedly praised Trump publicly and privately. Most were not interested in condemning his behavior on Wednesday, where he incited a mob of supporters to descend on the Capitol in anarchy, according to people present at the meeting, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe internal deliberations. Some members argued falsely that it was really “antifa” or other leftist groups responsible for the violence in the U.S. Capitol, people present said, and did not believe he had done anything wrong.
Just like the slurpers here who will follow trump over the cliff with joy!!!!!!!
Poor Josh learning that standing firm with trump now has monetary consequences OH FUCKING WELL!!!!! Maybe the stanford graduate finally learned something, but like Lil Schitty......I doubt it!!!!!

“It’s gonna be like this forever, wherever you go for the rest of your life,” she said, repeatedly demanding an “audit” of the vote.

NEW YORK (AP) — A printing company in Maryland saw the photo on Twitter Wednesday night: an employee roaming the halls of the U.S. Capitol with a company badge around his neck. He was fired the next day.
Others are facing similar repercussions at work for their participation in Wednesday's riot at the U.S. Capitol. Some business owners are being trashed on social media and their establishments boycotted, while rank-and-file employees at other businesses have been fired.
The printing company, Navistar Direct Marketing, declined to name the worker but said it can’t offer employment to people “demonstrating dangerous conduct that endangers the health and safety of others.”
More than 90 people have been arrested since Wednesday when loyalists to outgoing President Donald Trump disrupted lawmakers as they met to confirm the Electoral College results and President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. People on social media have been trying to identify rioters photographed or filmed at the Capitol Wednesday, pressuring companies that employ them to fire them.
At a data analytics firm in suburban Chicago, the employee in question was the top boss. Cogensia fired CEO Bradley Rukstales Friday night for his participation in the riot.

What I have been saying and advocating since trump took office!!!!
It might not have looked like it, but the riot at the Capitol was all about white fear | Opinion
Leonard Pitts Jr.
Fri, January 8, 2021, 4:33 PM EST
So what now?
A few things, actually. But before we get to them, we must recognize last week’s insurrectionist rampage at the Capitol for what it was. It is being seen, and not wrongly, as the angry response of delusional right wingers lied into believing a presidential election was stolen. It is being framed, and not without reason, as the ultimate statement of white privilege; a white mob allowed to ransack the Capitol — virtually none was arrested and some even took selfies with police — in the same city where peaceful protesters asserting that Black Lives Matter were met with military force.
But for all the other things that riot was, it was also an expression of fear — the panic of those who find themselves outnumbered. One cannot overemphasize a simple fact: In only one of the eight presidential elections since 1993 — Bush v. Kerry in 2004 — has the Republican Party won the popular vote. Seven times, the majority of voters have sided with the Democrats. GOP leaders — and the resentful white voters who are their core constituency — understand what this means. They know they’ve lost the debate over LGBTQ rights, immigration, race and all the other issues marking the line between left and right. They realize the nation’s population of angry white people is dwarfed by its rainbow coalition of white, Black, Asian, Hispanic, Islamic, Jewish, LGBTQ and others who demand, in the words of the pledge we learned as children, liberty and justice for all.
This is why Republicans have erected barriers — photo ID laws, voter purges, polling-place closures — to keep Democratic constituencies from voting. And it’s why those thugs felt themselves righteous in attacking the Capitol. To return, then, to the question with which we opened: In the short term, those responsible for security at the Capitol must answer before Congress for the failures of same — and then be relieved of duty. Whatever new measures are required to prevent a repeat of Wednesday’s mayhem must be put into effect with alacrity. One such is obvious: Police must learn to stop automatically coding “white” as somehow less threatening. As this melee proves, that creates a dangerous blind spot.
Meantime, in the slightly longer term, incoming President Joe Biden and his party, while they have control of the White House and Congress, must secure the vote. Nothing except the pandemic should be of higher priority. Pass a new Voting Rights Act (name it for the late Rep. John Lewis) to restore the one the Supreme Court gutted in 2013 and stop state lawmakers from playing politics with people’s most sacred right. Remove from the hands of politicians the power to draw district lines to advantage themselves and disadvantage their opponents — gerrymandering. And by all means, abolish the Electoral College which, as one Washington Post columnist observed, came dangerously close — 73,700 votes across three states — to giving Donald Trump a second term, his shellacking by 7 million votes overall notwithstanding.
To everyone who ever called Trump a dictator — a dictator can’t be censored.
The one doing the censoring is the dictator.
The true fascists.

Wrote Noem: “The idea that Georgia, of all places, could elect two communists to the United States Senate was ridiculous.”

People are getting tired of this sort of lying.
THIS TOO IS PART OF TRUMP'S LEGACY
U.S. Surpasses 300,000 Daily Coronavirus Cases
7:23 am
Washington Post:
“The United States on Friday surpassed 300,000 daily coronavirus cases, the second alarming record this week. The number, which roughly equates to the population of St. Louis, Pittsburgh or Cincinnati, comes about two months after the country reported 100,000 coronavirus cases a day for the first time, and one day after more than 4,000 people died from the virus, also a record.”
Wednesday afternoon, angry, unarmed, mostly peaceful protesters stormed the Capitol. They caused hundreds of dollars in damages to “The People’s House,” the taxpayer-funded building where elected lawmakers work.
They took pictures seated at Nancy Pelosi’s desk. They shoved furniture out of place. They pushed their way past unprepared and overwhelmed law enforcement. They shattered a window or two.
If not for police shooting and killing an unarmed, female 14-year Air Force veteran, the protest staged by Trump supporters would have more in common with a 1950s fraternity panty raid than a political riot.
Here, I guess, I should apologize for not joining the rest of the media in feigning outrage and calling for the trespassers to be tried for treason. But I’m neither outraged nor feeling vengeful because of their act of civil disobedience.
I understand it. It was an inevitable repercussion from 2020 and what we’ve all witnessed the last decade. It was Sir Isaac Newton’s third law come to life.
“For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.”
For four years now, the billionaire and millionaire elites who control academia, the mainstream media, politics, popular culture, and the sports world have framed Trump supporters as racist deplorables worthy of elimination from society.
These same elites spent the past decade elevating Michael Brown, George Floyd, Jacob Blake, Rayshard Brooks, Eric Garner, and other resisting criminal suspects to icon status while simultaneously raising bail money for protesters willing to riot, loot, burn, and vandalize in the name of racial justice.
This blatant hypocrisy will not go unchallenged. You cannot ignore the desires, concerns and feelings of 74 million citizens. You cannot write them off as Nazis and answer all their complaints with allegations of racism or sexism. That’s fascism.
At this point, the Deplorables should be commended for their restraint. Antifa and Black Lives Matter search, burn, and destroy well into the wee hours. The Deplorables returned to their hotel rooms by nightfall and watched our lawmakers return to work inside the Capitol by 8 p.m.
The critics say President Trump provoked Wednesday’s political “violence.” His refusal to concede a corrupt election baited his followers to overrun the Capitol with flags, put Ashli Babbitt in harm’s way, and do enough property damage to delay the Electoral College confirmation three or four hours.
Fine. Guilty as charged.

Rat thinks the millionaire and billionaire "elites" are the problem.
They are indeed.
But they are predominantly on the right, not on the left, as he well knows, though he lies about it.
I earlier asked a question that no one answered.
The United States and Brazil rank fourth and fifth in world's most populous nations, yet the United States and Brazil rank first and second in total numbers of Covid cases and deaths. What fact explains that?
The answer is simple:
They've been headed by two misguided politicians, Trump and Bolsonaro, who from the first played down the seriousness of the virus threat by discouraging the wearing of masks or social distancing while encouraging crowding into enclosed spaces.
Yes, that will forever be a major part of Trump's "legacy," along with his seditious attempt to overthrow a legitimate election and stage a coup.
abbitt in harm’s way, and do enough property damage to delay the Electoral College confirmation three or four hours.
Simplistic stupidity posted by the simplistic asshole rat who can't find his own old white ass in the dark!!!!!! BWAAAAAAPAAAAAA!!!!!!
