When slow Joe promised he would strive for "unity" I guess he meant Democratic "unity" in attacking conservatives, taking away free speech, and attempting to impeach a lame duck President.
To be clear, nobody believed that Joe Biden would be a "unifying" President. There was no way Dementia Joe would have the ability to actually stand up to those within his Party who are all about hate and conflict. Moreover, even if he had such an ability, there is no reason to believe he would want to be unifying. That is just something that the media gaslights people into believing. That Democrats are "unifying" while Republicans are not.
Case in point was 2008, when the "Maverick John McCain, probably the most bi-partisan Senator in our nation's history went against a one Term Senator who was objectively one of the most partisan politician on both sides of the aisle. John McCain provided a list of cabinet members that would have included an unprecedented amount of Democrats to work with Republicans. Yet, the media turned him into an American version of Hitler. An angry old right wing fanatic. America voted for the partisan Senator, and exit polling suggested that part of it was that Obama would be more "unifying" and "bi-partisan" than McCain.
Of course, we know how that went. Once Obama lost his majorities, he became completely ineffective, working mostly with executive orders that were routinely shot down by the courts.
Biden is little more than a puppet of the extreme left. He was provided the nomination because he was generally well known. They hid him in his basement during the campaign. They didn't allow him to provide interviews or answer questions. He was simply a Manchurian candidate, being controlled by the far left of his Party. Now that he is elected, many (on both sides) suggest it is just a matter of time until he steps away and allows the much more partisan and extreme left Kamala Harris take the reigns. Harris, of course, is someone who never would have been elected if they had gone straight forward with it.
Anyways... here we are. The old codger hasn't even been sworn in and we are already at one of the angriest periods in American history. Instead of stepping up and attempting to actually be "unifying" (which would require he address all Americans, including those 75 million who voted for his opponent), he is simply taking the easy partisan path. Which is probably because that is what he is being told to do.
We are truly entering the darkest of winters....

House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) is calling for an inquiry into how rioters at the U.S. Capitol knew where to find his office space, Fox News reports.
Said Clyburn:
“My office, if you don’t know where it is, you aren’t going to find it by accident. The one place where my name is on the door, that office is right on Statuary Hall. They didn’t touch that door. But they went into that other place where I do most of my work. They showed up there, harassing my staff.”

Two of the men who were spotted in viral social media images during the US Capitol Hill riots last week, wearing full paramilitary gear and holding plastic zip-tie hand restraints, have been identified and arrested by authorities, according to a Justice Department press release.
One of them is a 30-year-old man named Eric Munchel, a former bartender from Nashville who was allegedly spotted in head-to-toe armour in the photos circulating online. He is accused by authorities of storming the Capitol with his mother. The other was identified as Larry Rendall Brock Jr, a retired army lieutenant colonel from Texas, who was also reportedly seen with plastic handcuffs.
Mr Munchel told The Times of London that he and his mother both wore bulletproof vests and entered the Capitol together. He also admitted to bringing a taser that he said was confiscated by the police during the riots. Details have now started to reveal the true scale of the violence that was planned for 6 January when a joint session of the Congress met to certify Joe Biden’s victory in the US presidential elections.

The P.G.A. of America, which conducts the P.G.A.
