This looks like it should come from the Babylon Bee or The Onion

Biden plans to visit Texas as soon as next week
President Biden plans to visit Texas as early as next week after the state was devastated by winter weather and widespread power outages that compromised residents' access to water and medical resources.
Dozens of people have died in Texas in recent days after a blast of extended winter storms compromised the state's power grid. Many of the state's gas-fired power plants were also compromised by the snow and ice.
Biden spoke on Thursday with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R), and he "expressed that his administration was at the ready should the State of Texas or any other impacted region need additional federal disaster support or assistance," according to a White House readout.

I mean seriously? The President of the United States is trying to pencil something in next week to deal with the biggest crisis he has seen in his short time as President? Sounds almost satirical, doesn't it?

Remember when Bush flew down to the New Orleans area, but was criticized for specifically flying over New Orleans rather than apparently landing in New Orleans or going to hang out at the French Quarter? Now we are witnessing pretty much complete silence from the White House surrounding the Texas snow storm crisis, as well as complete silence from the media about the White House silence.

But hey, says the President to Texas, if you need anything, just ask.

It's one thing to provide a "honeymoon period" to a newly elected President, it's another for our media to simply pretend that there is nothing to report on from the Biden White House other than questions about pets, children, and food habits. The alleged lack of response from Bush in New Orleans (which is robust compared to the response from Biden in Texas) literally made the term Katrina a symbol of political failure and dropping the ball.

But we cannot get the media to talk about anything having to do with Texas, other than the fact that Ted Cruz accompanied his daughters on a trip down to Cancun and then flew back the next day. It doesn't matter that our President (who can do something) is playing video games and having his handlers "put a lid" on his days before noon in most cases, but it matters that a Senator (with zero authority or ability to fix anything) was gone for a day and a half.

Trump Is Guilty of Pandemicide.

Laurie Garrett: “There is vast evidence of Trump’s negligence during the pandemic’s third wave. Had I been a member of the House of Representatives during the body’s impeachment deliberations, I would have added to Trump’s indictment the crime of pandemicide, naming him as responsible for most of the COVID-19 deaths that transpired while he, the nation’s leader, was preoccupied with damning Joe Biden’s election victory.”

“Trump’s failure to, as he vowed in his oath of office, ‘faithfully execute the office of president of the United States’ promulgated a scale of lives lost exceeding anything experienced in the country since the Civil War, 160 years ago.”

He is guilty of manslaughter of thousands of Americans of all races and sexual orientation.

President Joe Biden has declared a major disaster in Texas, clearing the way for more federal funds to be spent on relief efforts in the US state.

Power is returning across Texas and temperatures are set to rise but some 13 million people are still facing difficulties accessing clean water.

Mr Biden has said he will visit Texas as long as his presence is not a burden on relief efforts.

Nearly 60 deaths have been attributed to cold weather across the US.

In a statement released by the White House, President Biden said he had "ordered federal assistance to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe winter storms".

"Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses, and other programmes to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster," the statement said.

Mr Biden has been in touch with the mayors of some of Texas' biggest cities, such as Houston, Austin and Dallas, to ensure they have access to government resources, an administration official said.

Several other southern states hit by snow and ice storms this week have also reported water service outages.

Winter weather has also cut off water in the city of Jackson, Mississippi - home to around 150,000 people - as well as the largest county in Tennessee that includes the city of Memphis, with more than 651,000 residents.

Across the US South, a region unaccustomed to such frigid temperatures, people whose pipes have frozen have taken to boiling snow to make water.

For a smart man, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) ain't so smart.

Exhibit A is the story-you-cannot-escape regarding his impulsive trip to Cancun, Mexico, during a deadly cold weather crisis in the state he represents. More than three-dozen people have died as a result. Millions are freezing. Water is at a premium at hospitals.

It's a once-in-a-century event in which all hands should be on deck: Governor. Senators. Mayors. And anyone in charge of providing services and protecting citizens. One senator decided to bail. Know this: Cruz's political career will never be the same, because this is the kind of defining moment that effectively ended his aspirations of being considered a serious presidential contender again. It's a moment that shows Cruz is like so many other hypocrites in government in acting above the constituents he represents.

When the going gets tough, the tough don't run to umbrella drinks at the beach.

He actually left his dog alone in his house, when he went across the border to be safe. The irony escapes Scott's mind.

Well Roger... if he says so and you repeat it multiple times in caps, then it must be true.

But I am curious why a Biden visit would be a burden, but when Bush didn't go into New Orleans it was a sign of negligence?

If you can explain that difference, then please do.

Otherwise you are nothing but an old fool!
