A Justice Department official hired under President Biden — and placed in charge of the agency’s criminal division in an acting capacity — is a former close associate of the attorney representing Hunter Biden in his current legal woes. The department revealed on Inauguration Day that it had tapped Nicholas McQuaid as acting assistant attorney general overseeing the criminal division.
Not that tax fraud and international money laundering that might actually involve the President is actually anything to be concerned with. Certainly this is not as important as say, making sure that George Papadapoulos clarified his hire and start dates with the Trump campaign so that it made the FBI set up look better.
What is still interesting here is that even now that Biden is President, you are still not hearing anything about this FBI investigation (which will no doubt quietly go away now). Could anyone imagine the non-stop media circus that would be going on if Don Jr, Eric, or Ivanka Trump had been under investigation for criminal wrongdoing?

Put your money on Hunter.
Cmon man, Hunter is just a drug using kid.
We need to figure out who the mysterious "big guy" is
Joe said Hunter is the smartest guy he ever met so this "big guy" couldn't be that hard to track down.
Then again the FBI has been trying for years without success.

How about a real story other than Hunter Hunter Biden's hard drive and
The FBI and federal prosecutors in Brooklyn are investigating Gov. Andrew Cuomo's coronavirus task force with a particular focus on his administration's handling of nursing homes early in the coronavirus pandemic, two sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.
The investigation, first reported by the Albany Times Union, is in its initial stages. Subpoenas have been issued, the sources said.
MORE: Number of NY nursing home residents lost to COVID-19 underreported by up to 50%, probe says
The FBI declined to comment, as did the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York.
The full scope of the investigation is not immediately clear, but the sources said there was a particular interest in nursing homes, which have been a source of increasing frustration for Cuomo.
Last week, an aide conceded the administration withheld the nursing home death toll from state lawmakers out of fear it would be used against the state by the Trump administration.
If he did what they said, he should be impeached if that's available in New York
This is evidence of a return to normality.
President Biden is not interfering.

You don't call this interference or are you incapable of processing information ???

Biden hired a partner of the attorney defending Hunter to be in charge of the DOJ criminal division.
alky says nothing to see there, things are back to "normal"

The FBI is investigating Andrew Cuomo.
This is actually a rhetorical question.
the Hunter story goes away silently with not a single media report announcing its end.
The fix remains in, Xi remains in charge, and the Big Guy continues to rake in his 10%, albeit laundered through several intermediary scumbags.

The FBI is "giving the appearance of" investigating Andrew Cuomo.
Killer Cuomo was at the white house the other day, undoubtedly to beg for $$$, but I'll bet also to beg for cover on his nursing home slaughter.
so there will be an appearance, an illusion, a show...
...when in reality he needs to be charged with 15,000 counts of criminally negligent homicide.

The RINO Street Journal reports that the economy is growing well.
Worker applications for unemployment benefits are expected to have eased again last week, potentially adding to signs that layoffs are declining as the economic recovery picks up.
Economists surveyed by The Wall Street Journal forecast that the number of workers applying for unemployment benefits fell to a seasonally adjusted 773,000 last week, down slightly from 793,000 the prior week.
Jobless claims—a proxy for layoffs—remain above the pre-coronavirus pandemic peak of 695,000, but have fallen from 926,000 in early January.
“We’re heading in the right direction,” said Marianne Wanamaker, a labor economist at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and former adviser to the Trump White House.
From today's LA times......writer is spot on........how to cut trumps dick off!!!!!!! BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
To the editor: There is only one way to get rid of Donald Trump. It will happen when the sheep who follow him realize they've been fleeced and stop sending the former president their money. ("Loyalty to Trump remains the fault line for Republicans," Feb. 14)
Trump will feed off the trough of donations as long as they last. You can bet he won't spend his own money to run for office again or start a TV network. That takes work, and scammers like Trump are too busy scheming to do real work.
Remember his empty promise to donate his own money to his flailing campaign last fall? Never happened.
Left without the power of the presidency, without his Twitter megaphone and with mounting business losses and legal fights, Trump's influence will wane. Maybe we'll see him one day as a contestant on "Celebrity Apprentice."
Roger, you predicted Bidenomics will have the US Economy back to pre-pandemic levels across the Board by April 30th.
President Joe Biden’s proposal for wide-ranging immigration reform — which he sent to Congress on the first day of his presidency — will be unveiled Thursday, according to a senior administration official.
What You Need To KnowPresident Joe Biden's sweeping immigration reform bill will be introduced in Congress Thursday
The plan includes an eight-year pathway to citizenship for the approximately 11 million Americans living in the U.S. undocumented
Republicans won't support the bill as written, but it could be separated out into different pieces of legislation, some which have bipartisan support
Both sides support DACA and a pathway to citizenship for DREAMers, undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children
The plan includes a path to citizenship for the approximately 11 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the U.S., a measure that would prevent travel bans based on religion, a plan to reduce immigration backlogs and an aim to address the root causes of Central American migration, among several other proposals.
It’s the first major push for reform since a bipartisan 2013 measure that failed in Congress. But President Biden’s plan goes even further, leaving critics to balk at the sweeping measures and advocates to cheer its promise of change.
The bill — titled the U.S. Citizenship Act — is set to be introduced by Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) on the House side and Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) in the Senate.
Experts are quick to acknowledge that the bill has almost no chance to pass in its current form, especially because it includes a path to legal status for such a large number of immigrants.
Menendez is no stranger to attempting immigration reform – he was one of the bipartisan "Gang of 8" Senators that attempted to negotiate a 2013 immigration reform bill, which ultimately fell apart. A bill backed by George W. Bush also failed in Congress prior to that.
President Biden himself has said he’s willing to see his immigration priorities separated out into their own legislation, including in a CNN town hall Tuesday night, though he did say a path to citizenship was an essential element.
“There's things that I would deal [with] by itself, but not at the expense of saying, ‘I'm never going to do the other,’” Biden told CNN’s Anderson Cooper. “There is a reasonable path to citizenship.”
Not great news, but the fact that the stimulus package is even more important!
Unemployment claims rose to 861,000 last week, halting a downward trend that pointed to an improving labor market.

Seems to me he is the second GOP leader who left the economy in shambles when he left office leaving the disaster for the D's to fix??? SACRAMENTO — President Biden on Wednesday nominated California Labor Secretary Julie A. Su as the second in command at the U.S. Department of Labor, even as she faces criticism from some in her home state for ongoing troubles at the Employment Development Department, which has delayed approving unemployment benefits while paying out billions of dollars on fraudulent claims.
Though Democratic lawmakers and labor leaders are rallying around Su’s nomination, arguing she did the best she could after inheriting an unemployment system hamstrung by antiquated technology, understaffing and operational problems, others, including Republican legislators, are raising concerns about her record.
State Assembly Republican leader Marie Waldron of Escondido questioned the president’s decision to put Su, whose nomination is subject to confirmation by the U.S. Senate, in an administrative role at the department that oversees unemployment programs nationally when the state agency under her purview has done so poorly in helping jobless Californians.
“Unemployed Californians have suffered greatly during the current California labor secretary’s time overseeing unemployment benefits during COVID,” Waldron said. “It’s very troubling to think that this record of failure could be implemented nationally, especially at a time when so many Americans are struggling.”

The former, is causing a Republican Civil War.
Aretired justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court and a longtime Republican has resigned from the party and become an unaffiliated voter in the wake of the state party’s censure of Senator Richard Burr.
Judge Bob Orr announced his decision on Twitter and noted his long service to the GOP. While he didn’t give a precise reason for his decision, he’s recently highlighted the party’s treatment of Burr and shared posts critical of other Republicans.
“Just made it official. After 45 years as a registered Republican, I am now an Unaffiliated voter,” Orr wrote. “I leave the GOP having won 4 statewide elections in NC as the Republican nominee. Only 3 others in NC history have won more.”
Orr was first elected to the state’s supreme court in 1994 and served as an associate justice until 2004. He previously served on the state’s court of appeals from 1986 to 1994. Judges of that court are also elected.
He was also a delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention, where he supported former Ohio Governor John Kasich.
The judge shared an image of his voter registration form with a prominent cross in the “unaffiliated” box.
Though Orr did not make his reasons for leaving the party explicit, he has recently shared retweets criticizing the GOP and tweets supportive of Burr. His profile also features the hashtag #NeverTrump.
On February 14, Orr appeared to link his resignation directly with the censure. Sharing an article about Burr, he tweeted: “I CAN’T WAIT TO LEAVE THE GOP. PAPERWORK TO BE FILED NEXT WEEK.”
Burr was one of just six Republican senators to vote in favor of convicting former President Donald Trump. The North Carolina Republican Party’s central committee censured Burr as a result.
“It is truly a sad day for North Carolina Republicans,” Burr said of the censure. “My party’s leadership has chosen loyalty to one man over the core principles of the Republican Party and the founders of our great nation.”
Orr later tweeted his gratitude to Twitter users for their support following his announcement.
“Hey TwitterWorld, thanks for the extraordinarily positive response to my tweet this afternoon about registering Unaffiliated after 45 years as a Republican,” he said. “All (well, almost all) very positive and encouraging. Wish I could respond to each individual but just not feasible.”
“I’m a single issue voter these days. Do you support Trump? If so, I’m voting against you,” Orr tweeted on Wednesday.
Orr caused controversy at the Republican convention in 2016 by refusing to vote for Trump. Many in the North Carolina delegation wanted to unite in Trump’s favor as he was the presumptive nominee.
“I cannot vote for Trump, either for the nomination or in November,” Orr said at the time. “I think he’s singularly unqualified to lead this country. He’s someone who would be a danger to the country.”
