One of the major advantages of Stras is that while he is as conservative as any of the nominees, he generally enjoys popular bipartisan support in Minnesota. Both Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar (who sit on the Senate Judiciary committee) might have issues voting against him

All it would take is for a handful of Democrats to be on board with a conservative Trump pick, and confirmation would be a foregone conclusion. Make no mistake, avoiding a long drawn out battle over Trump's first pick should be a priority.
