At this point if a court does decide to rule this travel ban to be unconstitutional, it will be akin to ruling all travel bans (past, present, and future) to be unconstitutional. To be perfectly honest. I am not so sure that Robart and the rest of the 9th circuit gang wouldn't be willing to make such a sweeping declaration. There appears no limits to how much governing authority these courts believe themselves to have.
I think the legal clarifications of this travel ban were made more with an eye on the USSC and making sure it can garner five or more votes upon appeal.

The landscape has changed since 9/11.
This is more about the inability of war- torn countries to help us in the vetting process.

a very astute and correct observation.
unfortunately, radical moose-limbs have morphed and metastasized in the past 16 years as western europe has learned the hard way.
these fuckers are insane and committed.... and probably already on US soil. everything about how we fight these fuckers needs to change. and part of that change is to prevent entry into the US. if we want to die, then a path of political correctness with a few bars of kumbaya sung by james taylor mixed in is a good way to go.
or, we can let a ruthless warrior like general mattis figure out a way to vaporize these animals.
we tried james taylor. and corpses piled up.
let's give the general a try.

In the meantime, crack head Opie continues to sniff around me like a rabid dog.
The hijackers in the September 11 attacks were 19 men affiliated with al-Qaeda. Fifteen of the 19 were citizens of Saudi Arabia, and the others were from the United Arab Emirates (2), Egypt, and Lebanon.
Maybe loretta can explain how much the landscape has changed. All I expect is additional attacks. Shocking.

It would have prevented 100% of the knife attacks at the crossroads center in St Cloud Minnesota (a place I once worked at).
I guess the question I would ask Indy (and others making the same argument)...
Is whether or not we should conduct our national security policy on concerns we "currently" have or on concerns we "had" back in 2001. It seems to me, by bringing up 9/11 hijackers, we are either using some pretty faulty logic to criticize a 2017 policy... or we are just repeating a talking points memo.
The 9/11, Saudi connection doesn't have anything to do with today's world.
Everyone knows Saudi Arabia has a functioning government....
"repeating a talking points memo."
Bingo.
Just like loretta, the WH plagiarizes what they find on the net without attribution. What a group they are.....
The White House seems to have copied and pasted part of an ExxonMobil press release.
On Monday, the oil company released a statement announcing expansion in the Gulf Coast region.
About half an hour later, the White House released their own statement congratulating ExxonMobil.
Reporter Christopher Ingraham pointed out that the government's release included a full paragraph nearly identical to one in Exxon's.
The Huffington Post pointed out that a quote from Exxon CEO Darren Woods was also appropriated without any attribution.

That still finances and harbors terrorists.....
For the supposed foreign policy experts....
"Exclusive: U.S. expands intelligence sharing with Saudis in Yemen operation"
"Reuters) - The United States is expanding its intelligence-sharing with Saudi Arabia to provide more information about potential targets in the kingdom's air campaign against Houthi militias in Yemen, U.S. officials told Reuters."

Yer still an idiot. In the mid-70's, the US via Lockheed Aircraft Company, supplied and installed the entire communication and information system for the Saudi Air force and military. They give us exactly what they want, always have.. I'm sure this is news to you. LOLOLOL Nothing new there, loretta, except they still are funding terrorists.

So now the Huffington post demands that every business decision made by an executive from a company be coupled with some form of "attribution" (which we can assume would be some sort of disclaimer that it had nothing to do with Trump).
They made a decision to invest twenty billion into American interests and create upwards of 45,000 American jobs. That's all that the CEO has to say and anyone is free to report on this.
This is good news for America and Americans in general.
Must suck to be a Democrat and be relegated to rooting against America because you can't stand the President claiming any success.

Repeating the same thing again and again expecting a different result does not make it a fact, just proving you are nutz..........Loretta. Nothing new here.

Just like I thought....long her, exxon business plan....
President Donald Trump is again citing corporate investments planned before he took office as evidence that his policies are growing jobs and business.
"We are already winning again, America!" he tweeted Monday after Exxon Mobil announced the latest details of an expansion initiative that actually began in 2013. "Buy American & hire American are the principals at the core of my agenda, which is: JOBS, JOBS, JOBS," he said in another tweet thanking Exxon Mobil for the announcement.

It's the latest in a string of corporate announcements about jobs and investments that date back to plans companies largely made when Barack Obama was president.
The Exxon chairman and CEO, Darren Woods, said the company will spend $20 billion over 10 years on refineries, chemical and liquefied natural gas plants along the Gulf Coast in an investment plan that responds to the rising supply of natural gas. The work would create 12,000 permanent jobs and 35,000 temporary construction jobs. Woods replaced Rex Tillerson when he left the helm of the company to become Trump's secretary of state.

So plagiarism is fine by you.
It's only plagiarism if you don't credit your source, Opie. Pretty sure that EXXON would not be upset by their press release being posted on a White House website. The idea of a press release is to garner attention.
Sounds like normal business to me that trump wants to take credit for.
Well, for what it's worth... I happen to enjoy the new "normal business" that follows a couple of decades of businesses announcing foreign investments and outsourcing.
At this point in time... many are going to credit Trump, his overturning of executive regulations, and his promise to further deregulate (including but not limited to revamping how the EPA works).
While perhaps the Huffington Post "actually" believes that such a press release should come with some sort of disclaimer that it's not Trump's doing... I doubt their outrage over Trump taking credit is going to resonate with many Americans.
The reality Opie... is that a company like EXXON, sees the cabinet that Trump put together (that includes people like Rex Tillerson and Scott Pruitt running the EPA) and they movement "away" from environmental concerns and towards business concerns. Many environmentalist and others on the left may not like this, but businesses will like it.
Still can't answer what's the new landscape, can you. But you can fellate pauline with gusto.....LOLOLOL

That is the stupidest thing you have ever posted considering what XOM announced. Try again CH, you might get it correct.
Houston that private sector investment is "enhanced" by Trump's support for a "stable regulatory environment."
But the statement also acknowledged that Exxon's "Growing the Gulf" program involves investments that started in 2013 and are expected to continue through 2022 at least.
Trump has credited his policies for a variety of corporate announcements — by Ford, Fiat-Chrysler, General Motors, Sprint, Intel and more — that reflect decisions made before his presidency.

The sitting president has accused his predecessor of an act that could have gotten the past president impeached. That's not your ordinary exercise of free speech. If the accusation were true, and President Barack Obama ordered a warrantless wiretap of Donald Trump during the campaign, the scandal would be of Watergate-level proportions.
But if the allegation is not true and is unsupported by evidence, that too should be a scandal on a major scale. This is the kind of accusation that, taken as part of a broader course of conduct, could get the current president impeached. We shouldn't care that the allegation was made early on a Saturday morning on Twitter. That's when Trump wrote: "How low has President Obama gone to tapp [sic] my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!"
Ben Carson Compares Slavery to Immigration in US
The basic premise of the First Amendment is that truth should defeat her opposite number. "Let her and Falsehood grapple," wrote the poet and politician John Milton, "who ever knew Truth put to the worse in a free and open encounter?"
But this rather optimistic adage accounts only for speech and debate between citizens. It doesn't apply to accusations made by the government. Those are something altogether different.
In a rule-of-law society, government allegations of criminal activity must be followed by proof and prosecution. If not, the government is ruling by innuendo.
Shadowy dictatorships can do that because there is no need for proof. Democracies can't.
Thus, an accusation by a president isn't like an accusation leveled by one private citizen against another. It's about more than factual truth or carelessness.
LOCK HIM UP!!!!!!!!

I will wait for EXXON to complain that the White House republished their press statement. My guess is that the only ones complaining are those who do nothing other than whine about Trump and the White House.
So we now have media publications "fact checking" Press releases by private corporations? Apparently the company cannot in fact announce an increased in their investment as "an expansion plan"... because they had previous invested in the area and because are expected to continue to invest till at least 2022? Apparently making any sort of announcement about "expansion" is dishonest because (according to the fact checkers) their original investment started under Obama and not under Trump.
I wonder if the fact checkers understand what the word "expansion" means.
Hint - it means that they are now "increasing the size" of the original planned investment.

What condescending guano CH. That has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FACT THE WH PLAGIARIZED!!!! Again, you write nothing but BS to rationalize your bromance of trump's big hands!!!!! The fact check was about trump. Try again. Still see you don't see the fatal flaw of what xol is doing and why it is in the US. Your density is getting leaded real fast.....LOL
Opie...
The fact checkers are trying to discredit the concept that EXXON announced an expansion of their investment plans... as falling under a broader ten year commitment to invest in the southern coast of the United States.
Why? Because the President will suggest he deserves some of the credit.
Reality. EXXON doesn't come up with a big press release to announce business as usual. They came up with a big press release to announce their "expansion" of their investment in the area...
And of course... they copyrighted the press release so that they could sue anyone who tried to re-post it. Ahem.
The fact checkers are trying to discredit the concept that EXXON announced an expansion of their investment plans
