Call to ban the latest "radical right wing group"...

This letter was posted on the bulletin boards at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs: news/campus-flier-suggests-banning-veterans-four-year-universities
A four-year, traditional university is supposed to be a place of learning, of understanding, of safety and security. However, there is an element among us who may be frustrating these goals: Veterans.

UCCS is known for its number of veterans who are full and part-time students. But these veterans of much of the school prides themselves on may be hurting the university.

First off, many veterans openly mock the ideas of diversity and safe spaces for vulnerable members of society. This is directly in contradiction to the mission of UCCS. Many veterans utter the mantra that they, “do not see color”. But the problem lies in their socialization into the military culture that is that of a white supremacist organization. They have been permanently tainted, and are no long fit for a four-year university.

Second, many students are frightened by the presence of veterans in their classrooms. Veterans usually have an overwhelming presence in the classroom, which can distract other students. This is usually true for vulnerable individual such as LGBTQQI2SAA, who have been known to be the butt of insensitive jokes made by veterans.

Finally, veterans usually are associated with extremists right-wing groups such as the tea party and the NRA. In order to provide a safe place for all students, extremist right-wing groups must be suppressed on campus. This would include their followers: veterans.

That is not to say that veterans should not be allowed an education. Veterans should be allowed to attend trade schools, or maybe even community college. But, in order to protect our academic institutions we must ban veterans from four-year universities.

Recap:
  • Military veterans frustrate the understanding of safety and security?
  • The military is a white supremacist organization?
  • Extremist right wing groups like the NRA?

You sort of wish this was a hoax, or a joke... but alas... someone (apparently off campus) wrote it, and it was approved by the school to be handed out as a flier and posted on bulletin boards around school. Houston, we have a problem.

i heard about this. not surprised.

another story from a few months back was about a cop continuing his education at a college close to his home. normally he had the opportunity to change out of his uniform before class, but on one occasion he did not, so he went to class in uniform, sidearm on his hip.

and as you can imagine...

all hell broke loose. i think the prof actually, get this...

called the cops, to have the cop removed.

"UCCS does not endorse and vigorously rejects the offensive viewpoints expressed in the flyer."

If you note the childish sentence structure and vocabulary, it's clear that it's either a hoax or else an individual who is unlikely to represent any organized group, liberal or otherwise.

And yet it was approved by school to be distributed on campus.

And before you make the obligatory "free speech" argument imagine what their reaction would have been if you substituted the word "colored" for "veteran".

Another fake news thread written and published by extremists to troll people like this site....

We have been reading here, that Mueller has been unable to get some real dirt. Well, the not fake news Wall Street Journal reported that your post is being discredited.

Paul Manafort’s political-consulting firm was active for more than a decade doing work that often dovetailed with Russian political interests not only in Ukraine, but also in Georgia, Montenegro and other countries the Kremlin considered to be in its sphere of influence.

A Wall Street Journal examination shows these efforts were broader in scope and ambition, and took place for longer, than previously reported—starting in 2004 and continuing through 2015.

They often involved one principal figure, Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska, a politically connected international operator whose ventures have sometimes aligned with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s foreign-policy objectives. “I don’t separate myself from the state,” he told the Financial Times in 2007. “I have no other interests.”

The work by Mr. Manafort, President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman, across Eastern Europe, as well as his links to Mr. Deripaska, help explain why he is of such interest to investigators probing alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Congressional investigators looking into Mr. Manafort’s business and political connections want to know more about his history with Mr. Deripaska, according to people with knowledge of the probes.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Mr. Deripaska has offered to give testimony about alleged Russian meddling in the election to the House and Senate intelligence committees in exchange for immunity, according to officials with knowledge of the matter. Congressional officials have rejected that offer, not wanting to interfere with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s own Russia inquiry, they said.

The Justice Department special counsel, Robert Mueller, as part of his inquiry into U.S. intelligence agencies’ claims of Russian interference, is investigating Mr. Manafort for possible violations of lobbying and money-laundering laws, the Journal has reported, citing a person familiar with the matter. In July, FBI agents working with Mr. Mueller executed a search warrant at Mr. Manafort’s Virginia home.

Though Mr. Manafort and Mr. Deripaska eventually had a falling out over money, culminating in a 2014 legal petition in the Cayman Islands, Mr. Manafort continued to work in Ukraine for years. Earlier this year, Mr. Manafort reported in a government filing that his firm earned more than $17 million for work for pro-Russian parties in Ukraine from 2012 to 2014. His failure to disclose the full extent of his work in Ukraine led to his departure as Mr. Trump’s campaign chairman in August 2016.

Evgeniya Klyukach, a corporate spokeswoman for Mr. Deripaska, said he declined to comment. A May complaint Mr. Deripaska filed in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., against the Associated Press, alleging defamation by a March article on alleged financial ties between him and Mr. Manafort, states: “Mr. Deripaska never had any arrangement, whether contractual or otherwise, with Mr. Manafort to advance the interests of the Russian government,” and that “Mr. Deripaska severed relations with Mr. Manafort many years ago.” The AP is fighting the suit.

Mr. Manafort declined to be interviewed for this article. A spokesman, Jason Maloni, referred to Mr. Manafort’s previous written statement, in which he said, “I look forward to meeting with those conducting serious investigations of these issues to discuss the actual facts.”

Mr. Mueller on Monday subpoenaed Mr. Maloni, demanding records related to his work for Mr. Manafort and seeking his testimony before a federal grand jury, the Journal reported Tuesday. In a statement, Mr. Maloni said he “would like to get the advice of counsel before commenting publicly” on this matter. He responded to Journal inquiries for this article prior to the subpoena.

No one but you gives a shit.

The investigation is getting closer to the President. If is subpoenaed and forced to testify under oath, it will get really interesting. His story has changed multiple times. The "letter" about the meeting, was first without his knowledge. Then he had seen it. Then in the final version, it was written by the candidate Trump.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Clinton real change was lying under oath. He lost his licenses and was impeached. If the Congress changes, impeachment is likely.

When does fomer DNC Chair Debbie Wasaman Schultz turn herself into the US Marshalls?

wphamilton said...

Even if Congress doesn't flip Trump is creating a precarious situation by alienating members of his own party. In previous cases of impeachment - all of them I think - the impeached President faced a hostile Congress.

Clinton lying under oath, but the investigation began looking for obstruction if I remember correctly. It shouldn't be taken lightly by Trump partisans, although again in all cases (I think) supporters of the President have dismissed the investigations as purely political and without substance. A few more elements align and Trump could be in trouble.

LOL. sure it is.

after all this time, and after having spent all this $$$$, and after having hired all these pro-clinton lawyers, you would think that you could come up with what amounts to little more than harassment of manafort.

in fact, mueller is so certain of his case against manafort, he's had to hire the NY AG. a world class scumbag hack who is the perfect guy to make shit up about manafort.

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/08/30/manafort-mueller-probe-attorney-general-242191

in case you haven't figured it out yet alky, and i know you haven't, manafort is the present day scooter libby. trump has no pardon power over state crimes. so mueller hires schneiderman to railroad manafort over nothing, manafort can't be pardoned so he makes up some claims about trump for a lighter sentence.

wow. that's some powerful case against trump you have there if you have to resort to that shit. desperation is the word i'd use to describe it.

About those reliable sources Roger depends on.

Lurid Trump allegations made by Louise Mensch and co-writer came from hoaxer
Mensch and Claude Taylor tweeted details of criminal inquires that didn’t exist
Hoaxer who fed information said she acted out of frustration over fake news
Taylor issues mea culpa on Twitter after being approached by Guardian

Explosive allegations about Donald Trump made by online writers with large followings among Trump critics were based on bogus information from a hoaxer who falsely claimed to work in law enforcement.

Claude Taylor tweeted fake details of criminal inquiries into Trump that were invented by a source whose claim to work for the New York attorney general was not checked, according to emails seen by the Guardian. The allegations were endorsed as authentic and retweeted by his co-writer Louise Mensch.

The source’s false tips included an allegation, which has been aggressively circulated by Mensch and Taylor, that Trump’s inactive fashion model agency is under investigation by New York authorities for possible sex trafficking.

The hoaxer, who fed the information to Taylor by email, said she acted out of frustration over the “dissemination of fake news” by Taylor and Mensch. Their false stories about Trump have included a claim that he was already being replaced as president by Senator Orrin Hatch in a process kept secret from the American public.

“Taylor asked no questions to verify my identity, did no vetting whatsoever, sought no confirmation from a second source – but instead asked leading questions to support his various theories, asking me to verify them,” the source said in an email.

After being approached for comment by the Guardian on Monday, Taylor posted what he described as a “mea culpa” on Twitter. “As a ‘citizen journalist’ I acknowledge my error and do apologize,” he wrote.

Two questions.

What does ten year old lobbying and money laundering allegations (that have previously been investigated) have to do with Russian interference in the 2016 election?

Why would this Deripaska (Russian oligarch) file a case against the AP in court over what he deems is false allegations of ties to Manafort... and then turn around and ask for immunity for testimony regarding the subject? If he is actually Russian, he would be immune from being subpoenaed to testify anyways. He'd have nothing to gain.

The hats Donald and Melania Trump wore in Texas are taking some heat

Donald and Melania get slammed on hats

During their visit to storm-ravaged Texas, Donald and Melania Trump wore hats emblazoned with the acronyms USA and FLOTUS, respectively. For many, the hats were the latest in a well-dressed first couple’s display of accessories. For others, the hats came across as tone deaf considering the state of emergency caused by Hurricane Harvey. Those against the hats argue that the Trump family is once again using the spotlight for product placement, particularly considering that Trump’s Official USA 45th Presidential Hat (the hat he wore in Texas) is sold on his website for $40.

With links to an article I have already read that doesn't answer either question I posed. It's one thing to constantly provide other people's opinions as your only means of thinking... it's another when you simply provide links that are irrelevant to the questions.

I think Roger is perhaps trying to being a caricature of himself.
