California Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D-CA) said during a press conference Thursday that employers in California who cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in their rumored upcoming immigration raids would be prosecuted if they cooperate in a manner that violates California law.

It will be fun to see him perp-walked to the nearest federal hoosegow.

Trump Said to Be ‘Furious’ with His Chief of Staff

Trump associates said the president “was furious” with White House chief of Staff John Kelly “both for what he said and for the tone he used” in describing some of his campaign proposals as “uninformed,” which Trump thought “made it appear he was a child who had to be managed,” according to the Washington Post.

“One Trump associate who spoke to the president Wednesday night said Trump thought Kelly’s comments made him look bad and that he was giving in to Democrats.

“The president, this person said, particularly disliked the word ‘uninformed’ which appeared in news reports and has chafed for weeks at the characterization of him as not intelligent and flighty in the best-selling book about his presidency by author Michael Wolff.”
_______________

But of course he is being managed like a child (or they are trying to) and hs is flighty and uninformed and not intelligent.

A Bombshell House Intelligence report exposing extensive FISA abuse could lead to the removal of senior government officials

A review of a classified document outlining what is described as extensive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse was made available to all House members Thursday and the revelations could lead to the removal of senior officials in the FBI and Department of Justice, several sources with knowledge of the document stated. These sources say the report is “explosive,” stating they would not be surprised if it leads to the end of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation into President Trump and his associates.

The House Intelligence Committee passed the motion along party lines Thursday to make the classified report alleging extensive ‘FISA Abuse’ related to the controversial dossier available to all House members. The report contains information regarding the dossier that alleges President Trump and members of his team colluded with the Russians in the 2016 presidential election. Some members of the House viewed the document in a secure room Thursday.

If there was extensive FISA abuse, it should be made public.

Not exactly,

Blue Wave Stall? Marist Shows Dems Lead Plunging On Generic Congressional Ballot

An NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll found that when voters were asked which party’s candidate they’d more likely vote for in their district, 46 percent of registered voters said Democrats, while 40 percent went with Republicans. Nine percent are undecided.

That shows a sizable decline from December polling, which found Democrats leading by 13 points on generic ballot polling.

Thursday’s poll found more welcome news for Republicans among registered voters who identify as Independents.

Among those voters, Republicans led by 2 points, with 38 percent of those voters saying they’d vote for the GOP candidate, while 36 percent said the Democratic candidate. In December, polling found that Democrats were leading among Independent voters by 11 points.

Several Republican members of Congress are reacting with shock and alarm after reading a “disturbing” four-page memo given to lawmakers on Thursday that details government surveillance abuses.

Speaking with Fox News on Thursday, the lawmakers said they could not yet discuss the contents, but thought the memo should be immediately made public.

“It is so alarming, the American people have to see it,” Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan said.

“It's troubling. It's shocking,” North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows said. “Part of me wishes I didn't read it. I don’t want to believe that those kinds of things are happening in this country that I love so much.”

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz said he believed people could lose their jobs after the memo is released.

“I believe the consequence of its release will be major changes in people currently working at the FBI and the Department of Justice,” he said, referencing DOJ officials Rod Rosenstein and Bruce Ohr.

“You think about, ‘is this happening in America or is this the KGB?’ That's how alarming it is,” Pennsylvania Rep. Scott Perry said.

The House Intelligence Committee on Thursday approved a motion by New York Rep. Pete King to release the memo on abuses of FISA, or the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, to all House members.

A source close to the matter said the memo details the Intelligence Committee’s oversight work for the FBI and Justice, including the controversy over unmasking and FISA surveillance.

The vote Thursday morning on releasing the memo to lawmakers was along party lines, with Democrats voting against making it available for all members.

Trump lawyer used private Delaware company to pay adult film star: report
John Bowden 2 hrs ago

President Trump's personal lawyer Michael Cohen reportedly used a private Delaware company and a pseudonym to get money to an adult film star who allegedly had an affair with the president in 2006.

The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that Cohen used Essential Consultants LLC, to send a lawyer representing the actress who calls herself Stormy Daniels $130,000 as part of a non-disclosure agreement concerning her relationships with Trump, who has been married to first lady Melania Trump since 2005. Cohen represented the Trump Organization at the time.

In making the transaction, both Cohen and Daniels' lawyer used pseudonyms, according to the Journal. The deal allegedly occurred in October of 2016, just weeks before voters headed to the polls.

Cohen and the White House have denied the alleged affair with Daniels, and have not commented on the $130,000 payout, which the Journal first reported last week.

Trump "once again vehemently denies" the encounter, Cohen said in a statement last week.

Stock market's value under Trump has grown by $6.9 trillion to $30.6 trillion

The stock market has added $6.9 trillion in market cap since Donald Trump was elected president.

That is already nearly half of what the market grew by in all eight years of the Obama administration.

Trump's performance, as measured by the S&P 500, is up 23 percent in the year since his inauguration, much better than the 13 percent average of first-year performances since 1928.

Starting with Trump’s inauguration, the Dow has risen from 19,827.3 to 25,075.1 -- an increase of 26 percent. That’s impressive.

But it’s not as impressive as its performance during the equivalent period under Obama. Under Obama, the Dow increased from 7,949.1 to 10,572 — a rise of 33 percent.

All science is reporting last year as an almost record year without el nino.....seems the major reporters of temperature show a warming climate in spite of KD burning lots of polluting wood....LOLOLOLOL

https://www.wunderground.com/cat6/noaa-earth-had-its-third-warmest-year-record-2017

In 2017, Earth experienced its third warmest surface temperature in records going back to 1880—and its warmest year on record without an El Niño event—according to NOAA. El Niño tends to increase global air temperature by transferring heat from the ocean into the atmosphere, which helped push global readings to record levels in 2015 and 2016. However, there was no El Niño in 2017.

In its annual climate summary released on Thursday, NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) calculated that the average global temperature across both land and ocean surfaces for 2017 was 1.51°F (0.84°C) above the 20th-century average of 13.9°C (57.0°F). This made 2017 the third warmest calendar year on record, coming in 0.18°F (0.10°C) below the record set in 2016.

Using a slightly different technique, the Japan Meteorological Agency also found that 2017 was the third warmest year in this 137-year period. Update: NASA data published at midday Thursday ranked 2017 as the second warmest year on record, behind 2016 but just ahead of 2015. Small differences in analysis technique can lead to slightly different rankings in the results from these three agencies. NASA's technique incorporates more of the Arctic, which was extremely warm in 2017.

The past year breaks the remarkable three-year string of consecutive global heat records set by 2014, 2015, and 2016. It’s worth noting that 2017 was considerably warmer than 2014, which was a record-breaking year at the time (see Figure 1). This illustrates just how exceptional the past four years have been, amid the continuing warming effects of human-produced greenhouse gases.

Last year was also the third warmest on record for satellite-based estimates of temperature through the lowest five miles of the atmosphere, as calculated by the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). In the UAH dataset, 2017 came in at 0.38°C above the 1981–2010 average, behind first-place 2016 (0.51°C) and 1998 (0.48°C). Both 2016 and 1998 began with very strong El Niño events in progress, but 2017 did not. Because these calculations are indirect, large-scale estimates of temperature well above

That amount, according to the invitation, will pay for dinner and a photograph with the president. For $250,000, a couple can also take part in a roundtable.

Trump told reporters in November that he had thought about having a celebration that month, a year after his victory over Hillary Clinton, but he was touring Asia at the time.

The event, hosted by Ronna Romney McDaniel, the chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, and the casino mogul Steve Wynn, will benefit the Trump presidential campaign and the RNC.

McDaniel’s maiden name, Romney, is not written on the invitation. Trump has had testy relations with her uncle Mitt Romney. Wynn is the RNC’s finance chairman.

It’s unclear whether Trump’s plans to travel to Florida for the weekend would change if the government is shut down when current funding runs out at midnight Friday. Legislation to extend the deadline is at an impasse in the Senate, and Republican leaders haven’t set out a way around it. Trump’s advisers believe the Senate will pass a short-term funding extension so it’s unlikely that he’ll be staying in Washington, a person familiar with his plans said.

The stock market’s rally was the tell.

But as the impacts of the corporate tax cut passed late last year by the Trump administration begin to be seen across the economy, it is clear that the shareholder class will be the largest beneficiary of this overhaul to the tax code. This continues a theme we’ve seen since the election — shareholders winning.

On Wednesday, two separate corporate announcements highlighted what is likely to be a theme during a fourth quarter earnings season that will pick up steam in the coming weeks.

Bank of America (BAC), which reported earnings before the market open on Wednesday, said that most of the benefits it gets from tax cuts will be used on capital return. On the company’s earnings conference call Wednesday, Bank of America Brian Moynihan said “most of the benefits” from tax cuts “will flow to the bottom-line through dividends and share buybacks over time.”

That was the point Rat was making. 138 years out of 4.5 billion year is not significant enough to determine long term climate trends.

However the measurements were good enough to compare against the predictions made by global warming models and the models were wrong.

two - every prediction made even remotely attached to climate change be it related to warming, population, whatever HAS NOT come to fruition.
