at some point we really need to evaluate shutting down the FBI.

Hopefully they were wearing black suits and Emporio Armani sunglasses!

He's Russian, he's in show business, therefore, Trump.

therefore, Trump.

No mutton breath....he had a contract with an entity partially owned by trump and went bankrupt....Seems to me you think the Feds should not do their jobs....brilliant....

Commonsense said...

So the Feds are going to interview every person who has a contract with Trump?

Then the investigation will end sometime in 2115.

Like I said. Because Trump..

No. That's my question because your premise is that the only thing necessary for the FBI to investigate a person is his tangible business connections with Trump.

Start hauling in the dealers and cocktail waitresses from his casinos.

Next will be the caddies and groundskeepers from his golf clubs.

Fixed it for you.

What C.H. forgets is that Russia is a police state. EVERYONE in Russia is basically one degree of separation from Russian intelligence, espionage, etc.

Even a meeting between a Trump staffer and a seemingly sweet old babushka should be considered suspicious until proven otherwise.

Good grief, the FBI had a reason to speak with Fedor Emelianeko and it was probably a good one. Random people who don't know anything about their reasons assume that there IS no reason. It's just weak thinking.

If you want plausible, based on just some public knowledge, the FBI might have had some specific questions regarding some of Cohen's business about which Emelianeko might have been expected to have information. Based on the simple fact that the FBI is investigating Cohen's past businesses, particularly in connection to his overseas partnerships, and Emelianeko was involved in at least one of them. That's not 100% definite of course, but it's surely more plausible than "I dunno why, so the FBI is acting stupid" that you folks are proposing.

Whether or not any proximity to Putin is involved is a matter of unadulterated speculation at this point.

What about Boris, Natasha, Rocky and Bullwinkle?

Of course. Just look at the FBI's batting average in chasing down Trump leads that are just sure to bring him down. Rock solid 1000%. No reason to believe that the MMA fighter is any different (who btw, absolutely crushed Frank Mir Saturday night).

i think wp is operating from the assumption that the FBI has any credibility left. an increasingly lonely position to take.

To that point CH, the FBI took down Harry Meir Mimoun Amar, who pled guilty a few days ago to a charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Stupid FBI probably thought it would take down Trump, but there was "No Collusion" so it's an epic fail, right? Fraud Scam Defrauded Companies of Millions of Dollars

Oh! Oh! There's another one Two Businessmen Charged With Conspiring to Commit Economic Espionage for Benefit of Chinese Manufacturing Company Oh man, their batting average is still 0% since it whiffed on Trump and Russians. I wonder if they actually questioned some Chinese national, the buffoons that they are.

Fraud and witness tampering but that's just "process crimes" isn't it CH, once again showing how inept the FBI is. And even though it was a crooked attorney, no leads to Trump so "epic fail".

wphamilton said...

FBI might as well close up shop and throw all these cases out https://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel since they have no credibility left. It being such an "increasingly lonely position", eh RRB?

So to the point that the FBI has come up short trying to show Trump Russia conspiracy... We should cite a completely irrelevant investigation for some particular reason?

wphamilton said...

Completely irrelevant to Trump, like investigating Cohen business in Russia? Yeah, that seems to be the theme in this thread.

C.H. Truth said...

It's almost as if you cannot distinguish that a critique aimed specifically at the FBI investigating Trump is just that.

It's almost as if you take it as some sort of critique that the FBI has never been able to successfully bring "any" case against "anyone".

And it's almost as if you believe that if you can show that the FBI has ever successfully brought "any" case against "anyone" that it somehow invalidate any critique about their behavior as it pertains to Trump.

Almost...

wphamilton said...

Heh, because their questioning of Fedor Emelianenko is NOT "the FBI investigating Trump". Except in your imagination I guess. It is within the criminal investigation of Cohen.

You're being kind of slow on the uptake here.
