Media purposely lies about Trump statement

SHERIFF MIMS: Thank you. There could be an MS-13 member I know about -- if they don’t reach a certain threshold, I cannot tell ICE about it.
THE PRESIDENT: We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in -- and we're stopping a lot of them -- but we're taking people out of the country. You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t people. These are animals. And we're taking them out of the country at a level and at a rate that's never happened before. And because of the weak laws, they come in fast, we get them, we release them, we get them again, we bring them out. It's crazy.
What did the media do? Well they simply decided that the reference and prefix to MS-13 gang was unimportant to the tweet... letting everyone believe that the President was simply calling "all" illegal aliens "animals".

All that being said, it doesn't appear that the media actually was getting away with it this time. They were called out by numerous outlets. Deservedly so.

Donald j. Trump is a rapist.

CNN) A New York appeals court has denied a motion by President Donald Trump's attorney to stay the Summer Zervos defamation case pending appeal, meaning the gathering of evidence known as "discovery" can move forward as both parties await a ruling on the appeal.

Zervos, a former "Apprentice" contestant, filed a lawsuit against Trump in January 2017 in which she alleged that Trump defamed her in 2016 after she said he sexually assaulted her in 2007.

Trump's lawyer, Marc Kasowitz, is appealing the March 20 ruling by New York Supreme Court Justice Jennifer Schecter, who allowed the case to go forward. He wants the appellate court to revisit the matter of whether the Constitution's Supremacy Clause bars a state court from hearing an action against a sitting president -- what would be considered immunity, because it would make the President immune from suit. Schecter ruled it does not. Kasowitz also argues that Schecter erred in denying the President's motion to dismiss or delay the case on First Amendment grounds.

Kasowitz said his motion should be granted on the grounds that New York and federal law both mandate a stay pending appeal, that proceeding with the case could irreparably harm Trump, and that the temporary suspension being sought was not designed to delay the case. But the Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court denied his motion in a one-page ruling.

"We look forward to proving Ms. Zervos's claim that defendant lied when he maliciously attacked her for reporting his sexually abusive behavior," said Zervos' attorney, Mariann Meier Wang. Kasowitz did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the ruling.

This is true unless your screen name is CHT.

The Russians interviened in our election with the intent of damaging the candidacy of Hillary Clinton and supporting Donald J. Trump. To our chagrin, they succeeded.

From the Senate intelligence committee.

The Senate Intelligence Committee has determined that the U.S. intelligence community was correct in assessing that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election with the aim of helping then-candidate Donald Trump, contradicting findings House Republicans reached last month.

“We see no reason to dispute the [intelligence community’s] conclusions,” the committee’s chairman, Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), said Wednesday in a joint statement with its vice chair, Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-Va.), who added: “Our staff concluded that the … conclusions were accurate and on point. The Russian effort was extensive, sophisticated, and ordered by President Putin himself for the purpose of helping Donald Trump and hurting Hillary Clinton.”

There’s really no reason to dispute this.

Gayness is not a "lifestyle." A lifestyle is something you can choose or determine. Most gays tell us that is not the case with them.

As for anyone who is not happy being gay, they may practice abstention or, if they wish, seek out some form of conversion help. But it should not be IMPOSED.

As a young pastor, I thought I was supposed to help gays become straight, and attempted to do so in one case. I now know that is usually a mistake and does more harm than good.

If you watch a baseball game, do you need to wait till the next day to see what the sports writers said to know how the game was played, or are you able to come up with an opinion on your own?

If someone who didn't watch the game, questions your opinion on the game based on how some sport writer reported it, would you feel that this person had valid reason to question your first hand account of the game?

Or wouldn't it be fairer to say that the person did not get a full account of the game by reading a sports writer? Obviously the sport writer's article didn't account for the whole three hour game. What he/she chose to report or leave out is important in context. His/her own personal opinions about certain players and things might influence it.

So unless you watched Donald Trump first hand during the interview (rather than some edited after the fact video) then you are simply relying on someone else's opinion on the events, and their decision to include or exclude relevant facts.

When a writer decides to report on a comment, but chooses to blatantly omit the context of that comment (by including that the comment was in reaction to) - then that reporter is basically providing you with a skewed version of events.

So no... I didn't watch (nor do I watch) Hannity or Levin. But if their observation was that it is unprofessional and dishonest to report on a comment, without providing the context of that that comment was about...

Then I agree 100% with them.

So should you.

Warner said Monday, “Everyone that we’ve ever had testify still stands by the full findings of the ICA,” referring to the intelligence community’s assessment. “We’ve had all the Obama officials, we’ve had all the Trump officials. Every person,” he added.

Asked Wednesday about the discrepancy between the two panels’ conclusions, Rep. Devin P. Nunes (R-Calif.), the House Intelligence Committee’s chairman said, “That’s nice.” He declined to elaborate. Nunes, who became the subject of an ethics inquiry last year, delegated day-to-day oversight of the panel’s Russia investigation to Rep. K. Michael Conaway (R-Texas) but remained peripherally involved, approving subpoenas and other related actions.

If you really in your heart think that the FBI/DOJ are a clear and present danger to the United States you and Hannity and Levin 100% are irrelevant.

So far we have:

- multiple IG reports showing that the leadership of the FBI was willing to lie not only to the public, but to internal investigators about leaks that were unauthorized and technically illegal.
- Both the former director and former asst director have been referred by the IG for possible criminal violations.
- Neither the FBI or the DOJ has come up with a legitimate reason for starting the counterintelligence probe into the political campaign of a Presidential candidate.
- We have another IG report coming out that most everybody expects will show mistakes (if not downright malfeasance) in the Clinton investigation.

I can believe that the DOJ and FBI have some serious issues with credibility and honestly... without going to the Extremes of being a "clear and present danger" - especially considering most of those who were in power are no longer in power.

I guess the questions I would have for you, Rog would be:

Why do you believe it is okay for the DOJ and the FBI to not follow their own rules, and in some cases not even follow the laws?

Why are you not concerned that both the Director and Asst Director have been referred for possible criminal charges?

Why doesn't it concern you that a DOJ would use a counter terrorism investigation to "search" for possible criminal violations... knowing that opening a "criminal investigation" would require them them to follow the normal criminal investigation protocols (that require fourth amendment rights to be considered)?

What does Hannity or Levin have to do with any of this? If Hannity and Levin said the sky was blue, would you argue that it was green?

President Trump has been lying about the FBI surveillance on the campaign.
F.B.I. Used Informant to Investigate Russia Ties to Campaign, Not to Spy, as Trump Claims https://nyti.ms/2kaqrUm
WASHINGTON — President Trump accused the F.B.I. on Friday, without evidence, of sending a spy to secretly infiltrate his 2016 campaign “for political purposes” even before the bureau had any inkling of the “phony Russia hoax.”

In fact, F.B.I. agents sent an informant to talk to two campaign advisers only after they received evidence that the pair had suspicious contacts linked to Russia during the campaign. The informant, an American academic who teaches in Britain, made contact late that summer with one campaign adviser, George Papadopoulos, according to people familiar with the matter. He also met repeatedly in the ensuing months with the other aide, Carter Page, who was also under F.B.I. scrutiny for his ties to Russia.

The role of the informant is at the heart of the newest battle between top law enforcement officials and Mr. Trump’s congressional allies over the F.B.I.’s most politically charged investigations in decades. The lawmakers, who say they are concerned that federal investigators are abusing their authority, have demanded documents from the Justice Department about the informant.

Law enforcement officials have refused, saying that handing over the documents would imperil both the source’s anonymity and safety. The New York Times has learned the source’s identity but typically does not name informants to preserve their safety.

Democrats say the Republicans’ real aim is to undermine the special counsel investigation. Senior law enforcement officials have also privately expressed concern that the Republicans are digging into F.B.I. files for information they can weaponize against the Russia inquiry.

Over the past two days, Mr. Trump has used speculative news reports about the informant, mostly from conservative media, to repeatedly assail the Russia investigation.

“Reports are there was indeed at least one FBI representative implanted, for political purposes, into my campaign for president,” he wrote on Twitter on Friday. “It took place very early on, and long before the phony Russia Hoax became a ‘hot’ Fake News story. If true — all time biggest political scandal!”

No evidence has emerged that the informant acted improperly when the F.B.I. asked for help in gathering information on the former campaign advisers, or that agents veered from the F.B.I.’s investigative guidelines and began a politically motivated inquiry, which would be illegal.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

Informants take great risks when working for intelligence services, Christopher A. Wray, the F.B.I. director, testified before Congress on Wednesday. Their identities must not be exposed, he said, hinting at congressional efforts to obtain the name of the source. “The day that we can’t protect human sources is the day the American people start becoming less safe.”
Wray was nominated by the President as the director of the FBI.

One of Mr. Trump’s lawyers, Rudolph W. Giuliani, acknowledged on Friday that neither the president nor his legal team knew with certainty that the F.B.I. had implanted a spy in the Trump campaign, as he and the president had alleged.

The President lied with his Fox and Friends directions. President Sean Hannity emphasized his support for the lie

Informant aka a spy to take down Trump.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

In recent days, Trump and his allies have escalated their claims that the FBI source improperly spied on the campaign.

It's been a year since special counsel Robert S. Mueller III was appointed to investigate the Trump campaign's ties to Russia - and since President Trump's barbs at his probe started.

“Reports are there was indeed at least one FBI representative implanted, for political purposes, into my campaign for president,” he tweeted Friday. “It took place very early on, and long before the phony Russia Hoax became a ‘hot’ Fake News story. If true — all time biggest political scandal!”

There is no evidence to suggest someone was planted with the campaign. The source in question engaged in a months-long pattern of seeking out and meeting three different Trump campaign officials.

The Washington Post — after speaking with people familiar with his role — has confirmed the identity of the FBI source who assisted the investigation, but is not reporting his name following warnings from U.S. intelligence officials that exposing him could endanger him or his contacts.

The source declined multiple requests for comment. An FBI spokeswoman declined to comment.

Once again the President has been lying.

You don't care about his lies. Or claim that the Fake News reported on it to take down Trump. He can do no wrong.

Loretta said...

Interviewing members of the campaign is not a crime.

Commonsense said...

Nor was it directed by the Obama administration. You're not very bright.

So are you saying is that the FBI is a rogue agency that is answerable to no one?

Then definitely somebody should go to jail.

Trump's lawyer Rudy Giuliani later clarified that neither he nor the president are aware if the story is true.

The Tweet Storm was pure politics and nothing more. There is no proof of the allegations.

Interviewing members of the campaign is not a crime.

Abuse of power, obstruction of justice, etc etc.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

The FBI is enabled to conduct investigations into alleged crimes by law.

Coldheartedtruth Teller said...

There is no evidence to suggest someone was planted with the campaign. The source in question engaged in a months-long pattern of seeking out and meeting three different Trump campaign officials.

Interviews are not volition of the law.

Not identifying yourself as an FBI agent before you conduct those "interviews" could be considered a crime. It certainly fall under the definition of spying which is using deceptive means to obtain information.

The FBI is enabled to conduct investigations into alleged crimes by law.

But there has to be a crime right? Where is the crime?

You mean except for the spy himself.

You know I was going to say that if this spying occurred with Barack Obama's campaign Roger's outrage meter would be pegging the red line.

But that would be just restating his obvious hypocrisy and therefore redundant.

Commonsense said...

Well this kind of blows Roger's contention that Obama knew nothing and didn't direct the FBI.

Obama's FBI Spied On The Trump Campaign, So What Did He Know And When Did He Know It?

Which bring us to Mr. Larry O’Connor, a former editor of Hot Air who now writes for The Washington Times, asking this key question: If these investigations can’t get the green light without the White House knowing, what did Obama know and when did he know it? O’Connor added his own commentary as well, rightfully asking where’s the outrage in all of this? O’Connor also had Andrew McCarthy, a former assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, on his radio show on WMAL and plainly stated that none of this could have gone on without the Obama White House knowing

Methinks they are investigating the wrong president.

I did NOT lie when I reported yesterday that the killer had an AR-15. I only reported what a news source (an official) incorrectly stated.

Later it was stated that the killer had only a shotgun and a pistol which he got from his father.

I am extremely GLAD he did not have a semi-automatic rifle. He would probably have killed far more people if he had one.
